Yeah, I loved this latest installment in this series! I'm always going to be a bit apprehensive going into a book in this series, that while I enjoy Christine Feehan's books, this is the series that I take to the least. But I really enjoyed Zyah and Player's story!

They had one fiery night-and then he screwed things up because he made an assumption, and that could've ended things right then and there. But he does make up for it in the end, and it was really good to see that growth!

Player is a bit screwed up. He has the ablility to make projections, and when the club members were young, he used it to play out Alice in Wonderland. And while the other kids enjoyed it, it meant something darker to him. And I just wanted to know what was going on, that something real that was hiding beneath the ability. It was a really intriguing part of this book!

Some of the external plot was over a series of thefts that have been going on, and Zyah's grandmother is targeted. Twice. And that second time, they try to abduct Zyah, but Player and the other club members stopped them. It was such an interesting plot to read

I really enjoyed this book, and I can't wait for the next!

This is one of my favorite series and this latest addition didn’t disappoint. Once again there was the perfect mix of danger, drama, steam, and romance with a side of paranormal.⁣

As usual the characters have a really strong connection and they just seem to fit together. Player messes up early on but I loved that he was so willing to admit to his mistakes and do what he needed to make up for them.⁣

This book is definitely hot and sexy 🔥🔥 but I felt like it was a little tamer than previous books, especially Desolation Road (Those who’ve read it know what I’m taking about 😉)⁣

I love each time the Torpedo Ink members add to their family and find people who are willing to accept them as they are. ⁣

Can’t wait for more from this series!

I am a huge fan of this series. It never fails to tear apart my heart and then stitch it back together. In Reckless Road we see a little more of the "paranormal" than I've really noticed in the other books. This series always has me scratching my head on how to categorize it.

Player's "skill" comes with terrible repercussions but he has found that Kyah helps relieve them some. There are problems for Kyah when she does this for him though and of course Player doesn't want her to help him because of this. I will say, he was a total ass to her before they are properly introduced. His reactions fit with the environment, but she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Because I knew she was hurt, I was a little upset with him.

Reckless Road doesn't focus as much on the trafficking ring as the others, but there is a kind of mystery, or problem that needs the club to help fix. Torpedo Ink protects the people and business in their town.

There is some interesting magic going on that was crossing the lines between past and present. It kept me fascinated. The way the club members work together, as a family, depending on each other completely runs so deep, you can feel their connection.

There was a lot going on until it all fits together and I was enthralled. I love this whole series and if you want your heart ripped out with a great HEA, these are definitely for you. The next one is Savage's book and I'm dying for that one. He is like, the farthest from accepting their new normal and I can't wait to see how he fights his demons.

Reckless Road is the fifth novel to Christine Feehan’s Torpedo Ink series. If you’ve read the previous books, you know this book will take you for an emotional ride. Christine Feehan has become an auto-buy author now since I’ve read several of her books and fell for her storylines and characters.

Female Protagonist: Zyah is a beautiful Middle Eastern dancer (Belly Dancer). She works at the local grocery store after giving up her international job. She nows lives with her grandmother since she was attacked when her house was burglarized. Zyah is very compassionate toward others, not only her grandmother but Player, too, especially after she first meets him.

Male Protagonist: Gedeon “Player” Lazaroff is a member of the Torpedo Ink Motorcycle Club. He has illusion/psychic powers that can cause him to be sick with migraines if used often. He’s like his other Torpedo Ink members that have been abused in his past and trained to be an assassin or, in the case of Player, to build bombs. He’s unique in his own way, though, because he would rather stay away from Zyah instead of ruining her, but he can’t because he has fallen for her. I really liked his character and getting to know him in his book.

My Thoughts: I actually enjoyed Player and Zyah’s story more than the previous books. I think it’s due to the connection these two characters had with each other. Zyah and Player hit it off immediately, but not as instant love. Player screws up really badly with Zyah, but he is determined to make everything right with her. I love knowing he had to win her back, and she didn’t make it easy for him. Player does get her hurt in this book, which readers will find out that not only Torpedo Ink members have special powers over them. I loved getting to know some of the other characters in this book that actually received their book(s) from earlier series that Christine Feehan wrote. I really need to read the Drake Sisters series to find out how these characters met their true loves. I loved how some of the Torpedo Ink members are scared of these characters. 🙂

In Reckless Road, though, there is another storyline happening where aggressive burglars are targeting the elderly. Torpedo Ink gets involved after finding out Zyah’s grandmother got attacked. They are on a mission to protect her and protect the other elderly in the area. This part of the book had me wondering who was behind the elderly until a certain character showed up to Zyah, and I knew something was up with that person. I was able to figure out what was going on right away. It didn’t stop me from reading the book, though, because I needed to find out if Torpedo Ink would do their damage to those horrible people.

Overall, I gave this book 4-stars. I loved Zyah and Player in this book. I wouldn’t say I liked having to read Player’s past, though. I know it’s important to tell what he went through, but it made me want to go through the book and get revenge for him and the other Torpedo Ink members. Each time it gets worst and worst finding out what these members went through and how they survived. Player was very vulnerable in this book after telling everyone what happens to him after his illusions. Zyah was there for him along the way, which helped him. I loved her character.

I found the ending interesting in this book because it involved something magical and dangerous. I won’t give it away to readers who haven’t read this book.

Standalone or Part of Series: It’s part of the Torpedo Ink series. Readers could read them out of order, but you will miss out on the previous characters that received their HEA.

Steaminess: Steamy ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ This book was much different with the steaminess than the other books in the series. Player was not like his other Torpedo Ink members.

Trope: Fated Mates; Motorcycle Club Romance; One Night Stand

Triggers: Flashbacks of what happened to Player when he was younger include child abuse (sexually and physically). There is also violence against the elderly in this book.

HEA: Yes

Would I recommend this book? Yes. I would recommend this book to Paranormal Romance readers and Romantic Suspense readers. I’ve tried every time to keep my reviews short, but it’s impossible. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series because I hope either Preacher or Maestro get their books. I also want Alena and Lana to get their books too. There are so many more members that deserve HEA after what they had gone through when they were younger.

Christine Feehan left me wanting more after this book. She’s starting to grow on me now, and I’m glad I found her books. Now, I need to read everything she’s written, which is a lot.

This was my first book by this author, and let me just say, it was very intriguing. At times I felt a bit lost due to this being the fifth book in a series, but I was able to fill in the gaps. This story was super hot, danger filled, and a bit swoony in some parts. Absolutely loved the mystical element!

"Right now, just looking at him, she could probably have a mini-orgasm if she let herself get close enough to smell him while she looked into his eyes."

As with all of the Torpedo Ink members, they run cold until they meet the one and then all bets are off. I can't tell you how much I enjoy seeing these broken badass bikers find their other half. If you've read the other books in the series you know the backstory, if not, buckle your seat belt. They are fierce and loyal as well as dangerous and deadly.

Each member has a special gift. I can't tell you what Player's is, but he's met his match with Zyah. She's not intimidated by his size, his tattoos, or his scars. She sees past his appearance to his pain and doesn't run... until she does. Not because she's afraid, but because he says hurtful things that can't be unsaid. There's a reason for that. Too bad she disappears before he has a chance to explain or ask for forgiveness. Or, ask for her number.

I can't tell you how much I love this series. The author has such a mind-blowing talent and pulls me in from almost the first word. She creates such imaginative stories that are so intriguing and thought-provoking that I'm still thinking about them long after I turn the last page. Reckless Road was no different. My mind is still whirling with possibilities and I can't wait to get my hands on more. The line forms here...

Love this story and what it adds to the Torpedo Ink series.
We start off learning why Player was so quiet in previous books, come to know his psychic gifts and what happens with them when he is tired, has used them too long and migraines begin. We meet the heroine, Zyah, who has amazing psychic gifts herself. We learn she can sooth Player, distract him, and help him control his overwrought abilities and the danger they can bring to innocent people and those he cares about…a danger he has never told the Torpedo ink members. And yes, we see Player, exhausted and a bit delusional fall back onto the code Czar instilled in them for their safety and insult Zyah in the most insulting way a man can.

What follows is a beautifully written paranormal tale of a journey to love, through the use of psychic gifts and connection as they try to solve his psychic chaos that’s putting everyone in danger. At the same time reality takes Torpedo Ink on a hunt for thieves and murderers!
Zyah’s a strong woman who’s always known love and must learn what it’s like to love a man who has broken and tortured soul. Player’s a man who doesn’t know love or know how receive it. It’s an emotional must read- must experience story! Just know it includes a “I can’t believe Christine did that to him” plot twist!

My heart breaks for Player as this story reveals what his childhood was like. How Sorbacov separated him, made him fear failure, the guilt he carried for his actions. How he used his gifts to make the others happy, even if it tortured him. However, what was more heart breaking was how we see Player try to convince Destroyer he belongs with the Torpedo Ink family, deserved his spot with them; how he soothed Zyah, telling her that the facts had to be shared and discovered before judgement was passed… yet he denies himself the worthiness of both. A man set apart. The self-imposed distance he keeps to protect those he cares about, those he loves but feels different from. Those he has killed with and killed for. He's a man driven to protect others no matter what it means for him.

The fact that Zyah doesn’t reject him or judge him makes him feel more shame. He wasn’t worthy of her. Her grandmother, Mama Anat is a driving force to move him forward, with wise words and a kind heart. She grows to be special to him and all of Torpedo Ink as they become part of their lives.

How he proves he’s ready to move forward is definitely an enjoyable part of this must read story … Love the lessons he learns through SeaHaven friends and even the advice from his Sisters. This book is full of strong intelligent women! Love their addition to the plot that helps Zyah and Player move along the road to a Happily Ever After.

As their relationship grows, Player and Zyah follow their psychic connection to try and solve what’s disrupting his gifts, making him a danger to everyone. His issues finally force him to tell Czar the secrets he’s kept. I hope the reaction from Czar and the other members of Torpedo Ink, who also point out how many times he saved them, take away his guilt. Close the distance and his feeling of odd man out. Especially since bringing Zyah and Mama Anat into the fold, extending friendship to others, he's brought the best gift to Torpedo Ink so far.

They both learn that being open to giving and receiving love, happily, includes the hot sex and help they can give each other, too. That its the key to being partners on all parts of their lives...they have someone to move forward with.

They spend so much time looking for clues in his past to solve his psychic issues, they almost miss the true danger staring them in the face! Oh the revelations that come from it when they figure it out! And Torpedo Ink, along with law enforcement from Sea Haven close in and deliver karma to those threatening the elderly in Caspar and Sea Haven. Bringing action and the teamwork they do so well!

As usual, one member finding love brings more to the rest of the club, too. But I believe more so in this journey... I love how Zyah, Mama Anat, and the community of Sea Haven (some favorites!) and Caspar help the members of Torpedo Ink understand more of their new normal. The moments of humor and bonding between them all are so well written! The events that move the plot reminds us how special Sea Haven is and shows how Caspar is beginning to become not just a place to exist but a home for these tortured souls. I can’t wait to revisit this series and see where they go from here!

Player know he is beyond exhaustion, he knows that the probability of making mistakes is a reality in this state, he doesn’t know that worst mistake he’s ever made will result. Arriving home and find the beautifully seductive Zyah in his room, making the fatal error of assuming she is a gift from his brothers. Player knows it will be a long road back to her heart

Zyah, believed completely that her gift would lead her to the one man. Player destroys her trust in her gift, her judgment and her trust in him. Her grandmother’s health is now first priority.

Reckless Road is one of the best examples of Ms. Feehan’s ability to weave an emotional, funny, intensely sensual story. We see the fun of the I nterfence of his well meaning siblings to help him redeem himself with Zyah, the softer side of Savage and Destroyer is revealed, a sense of community with Sea Haven and Caspar evolves with the shear fun of Hannah Drake. Her antics and wisdom add another layer of family for all the Torpedo Ink members. You also have the ever present teaser hints of coming stories sprinkled in to make her fans mark their calendars for the next installment.

Another brilliantly written installment to the Torpedo Ink series.

4.25 stars--RECKLESS ROAD is the fifth instalment in Christine Feehan’s contemporary, adult TORPEDO INK erotic, paranormal, MC romance series, a spin off from the author’s Sea Haven/Sisters of the Heart series which in turn is a spin off from the Drake Sisters series. This is Gedeon ‘Player’ Lazaroff, and Zyah Gamal’s story line. RECKLESS ROAD can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

WARNING: RECKLESS ROAD contains scenes, and makes reference to voyeurism, graphic violence, rape, murder, torture, child prostitution, and abuse against children, women and men, and may not be suitable for more sensitive readers. The violence is a part of the history and lives of the Torpedo Ink crews. The eighteen original Torpedo Ink members are the sole survivors of a Russian pedophile ring, and as such work towards rescuing children and women in similar situations.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Zyah and Player) RECKLESS ROAD follows in the aftermath of Player’s return to the Torpedo Ink compound following a recent road trip. With the ability to create lifelike illusions, Player’s mind continues to fracture, and his own grip on reality begins to falter. Believing his ‘brothers’ have procured him the services of an exotic dancer, Player indulges for one night, only to discover the woman, Zyah Gamal is no wh*re but his fated mate. Hoping to make amends, Player enlists the help of his Torpedo Ink family but all is not well in the seaside town of Caspar when a series of home invasions escalates, and Zyah and her grandmother have been targeted on more than one occasion. With the Torpedo Ink members keeping watch over Zyah and Mama Ant, Player is ambushed, and spends his recovery with Zyah and her grandmother but the psychic fall-out of his injury worsens, and threatens the people he knows and loves. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Zyah and Player, and the potential fall-out as Player’s mind continues to deteriorate, and the break in reveals a familiar pattern and foe.

Gedeon ‘Player’ Lazaroff believes his psychic gifts have caused more heartache and pain than have done any good for his brothers and sisters in Torpedo Ink. As the fall-out of his psychic gift continue to haunt and further destroy what’s left of his mind, Player will get some much needed healing and help from the woman with whom he is falling in love. Zyah Gamal moved to Caspar in an effort to be closer to her beloved grandmother but Zyah never expected to fall for a man who would break her heart, a man who is broken both inside and out. Time spent with Player reveals a man whose tortured past continues to inflict wounds that refuse to heal.

The relationship between Player and Zyah begins as a one night stand that quickly spirals out of control. Believing she had found the man that called to her heart, Zyah would be pushed aside by a man whose demons rode very close to the surface. Player never expected to find his own happily ever after but making amends to Zyah is about to push our hero over the edge. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful powerful and energetic secondary and supporting characters move of whom we have met throughout the previous series or two. We are introduced to Zyah’s grandmother Mama Anat, as well as Hannah Drake ’s (Sea Haven series) assistant Sabelia. The requisite evil has many faces.

RECKLESS ROAD, like the previous instalments, continues to focus on the graphic details, rape, torture and abuse inflicted upon the characters as children, children trained to be killers and assassins. The PTSD and constant reminders push at the members of Torpedo Ink, leaving guilt, grief and loss in its’ wake.

RECKLESS ROAD is a story of family, relationships, secrets and lies; of pain, tragedy and heart break; of betrayal, vengeance, acceptance and love. The premise is dramatic, dark, staggering and raw; the romance is edgy ; the characters are broken, wounded, and tragic.

Reckless Road by Christine Feehan is the newest edition in the Torpedo Ink series and it was classic Feehan story that I love and enjoy. Gedeon “Player” Lazaroff is returning home from a job and is holding on by a thread and thinks he’s in the clear, when he finds a beautiful woman in his bedroom. Talking to Zyah soothes his mind and they really connect so they spend a beautiful night together. Player makes a mistake in dismissing her thinking she’s a dream and now will do what it takes to get her to forgive him.

Zyah has returned to Sea Haven to take care of her grandmother and does a friend a favor and goes to a party at the Torpedo Inc clubhouse. When she meets Player she also feels a connection and opens herself up to him completely. Then he tells her to go. She’s ready to chalk Player off as a bad mistake but she wants to help him when he saves her life. As he recovers they spend more time together and it becomes a struggle for both of them to find some balance. When they stumble upon a big mystery they need to figure it out and find themselves in danger. With the help of his brothers and a few of the locals, Player makes inroads with Zyah, and it shows her how much he really cares for her and not for what she can do for him.

What I liked best about Reckless Road was the storyline itself and how all the brothers and townspeople got involved in this one. There were dual stories happening at the same time and the main characters had their hands full with so much to deal with at once. There was a nice balance to each of their developments and some added humor that involved Sheriff Jonas Harrington and his wife Hannah. The main characters love story didn’t involve any kink except for their supernatural powers they each possess. I was a little nervous to read the new story after the last release and felt a relief to see that it was ‘normal’ for a paranormal Feehan story. I thoroughly enjoyed this story especially the heroine. She was a strong woman who knew her strengths, very loyal and compassionate with her grandmother and her new friends. She is definitely going to keep Player on his toes for sure. Feehan continues to set more in place with each new story and developing a good foundation for the Torpedo Ink series. Reckless Road was full of intrigue and danger, family, romance and a dose of humor to make this a good read.

I find Player intriguing and this book explains so much about him. I wouldn't have expected Zaya for him but as always Christine has found ways their flaws and gifts complete each other.

Note: as always this series is a more violent and sexual one so may not be for everyone especially if it may be a trigger. However I always learn something about trauma through the sensitive way Christine writes about it.

Torpedo Ink Series Book 5
Release Date: February 9, 2021
Review Copy Provided by the Publisher

Where to start with this one? First, I DNF’d this book. It was...weird. If I’m being honest, I think I would have enjoyed it if I smoked a joint or had some shrooms before reading it. It was that kind of weird. The whole white rabbit running around and other Alice in Wonderland references made me roll my eyes more than once. The heroine, Zyah, could connect with people’s thoughts when she took her shoes off and put her bare feet on the ground. You see why I think being stoned would have been beneficial? Honestly, I can’t even talk about the characters or their chemistry because I couldn’t get past this other crazy stuff. This book was nutters even for paranormal romance standards, in my opinion.

I’ve liked the other books in the series, but this one was just not my jam.

This was a great book ! As ever, Christine Feehan delivered a fantastic story !

Player and Zyah were an amazing couple. I loved every bit of their journey which was rich in emotions, inspiration and heartache. They experienced an immediate deep connection when they first met until Player made a mistake that nearly ended their relationship before it really began. Zyah was an incredibly strong heroine who wasn't about to accept anything less than everything from any man so our hero had his work cut out for him. I actually loved that she was such a strong character. Of course, there was the usual suspense, romantic heat, and intricately detailed storytelling that comes along with every Christine Feehan book.

I adore the Torpedo Ink series. Can't wait for the next one.

4.25 Hearts This is the 5th in the series and, of course, I recommend reading the series but each book can be a stand alone. Feehan is one of my go to authors. I am never disappointed in a Feehan book and this is another example of why.

In this story we read about “Player” and Zyah. One of Feehan loves to do is show the world of “gifts” and Player has a psychic gift that he tries to hide. He has a mind-breaking night and runs into Zyah who somehow calms him. But he does what he knows and breaks her heart. But somehow they get thrown together and Player knows he wants her but also needs her. But will his love for his brothers trump the love for Zyah?

Feehan can get, ummm, let’s say “Sexy” in her books. And Player and Zyah have their moments of bedroom scenes but I enjoyed the relationship coming together for these two. They fit and Feehan knows they need each other and puts together a great couple.

Disclaimer:
I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Third time is not the charm. I have previously read 'Judgment Road' and 'Vengeance Road' of the Torpedo Ink Series, and very much like them—I am unable to find anything worth mentioning. It’s a very repetitive, drawn out story with uninteresting characters whose chemistry was non-existent and a boring plot that had me yawning more than once. It fell flat to me and because of that I was unable to connect with this novel. The only mildly interesting bit was the psychic abilities that each MC member has. Besides that, there is nothing that truly stands out and it wasn’t worth more of my time and energy to complete this.

Zyah Gamal was just looking for a quiet refuge in the middle of a legendary Torpedo Ink party. What she found was an indescribably beautiful man who gave her the most sensual night of her life – right before he shattered her heart.

She doesn’t have time to mourn the loss of what could have been because she has a grandmother to take care of. Mama Anat is the reason that she’s come to Sea Haven. And she’s not going anywhere until she’s safe from the danger lurking in the shadows.

“Zyah knew she should let him leave. Go to his brothers in Torpedo Ink. Let them take him to his clubhouse. Find a way to try to separate herself from him. She was already tangled with him so tightly she knew it would hurt for years to come when they separated. Something undefined, some powerful portent inside, told her if she let him go, he would die. She couldn’t do that. She was always intelligent enough to listen to her instincts, and everything in her shouted to keep him close. She hoped it wasn’t just her wanting to belong to him. Could she really be that lonely? She doubted it. She was independent. She knew she always would be, even if she found the perfect man.”

Gedeon "Player" Lazaroff survived the horrors of his childhood with the help of his club and his gift. The more that he uses this gift, the more fragmented his mind becomes. When the beautiful dancer in his room turns out to be the only woman who can heal him - body and soul, he’s hell-bent on proving himself worthy of her love.

But there’s a darkness reaching out for him. He’s going to protect his woman and those that he loves at all costs. Even if it means sacrificing everything he is.

“Player felt Zyah’s presence before she even appeared on the staircase. He turned slowly to look up to watch her descend. It was almost a compulsion. A need just to be in the room with her. To breathe her in, to see her like this, doing mundane, simple, everyday things. She flowed in silence down the stairs like the dancer she was, so gorgeous she took his breath away. Her beauty wasn’t just skin deep.
He didn’t think she was perfect for him because he found her curvy body sinful beyond temptation, a playground he could spend hours teasing and playing with, or even because she had a gift that could counter the mess of his own talent. She was unique. A soft-spoken woman unafraid of hard work, capable of unconditional love and loyal to a fault. She was worth fighting for, and he’d be a damn fool to let her slip away because he was afraid of failure.”

In this brand-new installment of her MC series, Christine reveals one of her most independent heroines yet. Multidimensional and highly intelligent, Zyah is as determined as she is nurturing. She radiates a compassion that stands in perfect balance with Player’s silent ferocity. Together, they form a metaphysical force strong enough to join the ranks of Torpedo Ink.

Raw and atmospheric with a touch of Christine’s one-of-a-kind sensual burn, Reckless Road is nothing short of sublime…

Reckless Road is the fifth book in the Torpedo Ink series by Christine Feehan. A steamy paranormal MC romance that is sure to take your breathe away. The characters are well-written with intriguing backstories. A story full of steamy romance, drama, and tearful moments of shame. An enchanting addition to the Torpedo Ink series!

Brought to you by OBS reviewer Caro

Throughout the first books in the Torpedo Ink series we’ve seen the club members use their psychic abilities to help others and themselves. But in Reckless Road we see how some of those psychic abilities can harm and backfire on Torpedo Ink. Player never told the club of the side effect using his illusion ability has when he is tired and can’t distinguish between reality and fantasy. This gets Player in trouble when he first meets Zyah and he mistakes her as part of his illusions.

Zyah has her own special psychic abilities and knows that Player is special, but she is hurt by his actions. Zyah is back in town to take care of her grandmother as she recovers from injuries she suffered during a recent burglary incident. Sea Haven has lately been clouded by home break-ins leaving the town shaken by the brutality of the robbers. The club has noticed that the robber’s modus operandi is different and the town could be in more danger than what they think. One night, after work Zyah is about to be kidnapped when Player saves her. In the fight, Player is injured, which may cause his illusions to get out of control. Zyah knows she can help Player recover faster and better under her care if she stays close by. During Player’s recovery, Zyah learns more about his past, his psychic abilities, and how dangerous they can be if they get out of control. As Player recovers, he starts noticing memories hidden in dreams that can put the club and Zyah in danger.

Zyah and Player have an interesting chemistry. Player needs someone that understands his mind and Zyah is the perfect person for him. On the other hand, Zyah needs someone that understands that her grandmother is number one in her life and will be able to share Zyah with her loved ones, not to mention that Zyah also needs someone who will respect her independence.

Throughout the book we get more glimpses of the club’s past tortured memories, learning more hidden secrets. It’s always interesting to get more information. But my favorite guest appearance from past books was Hannah Drake and Jonas Harrington from the Drake Sister series! Feehan fans will have a good time reading their parts. These two characters are funnier and more in love than ever. During this interaction we do get a foreshadowing of a potential future lifemate for another Torpedo Ink member, which may bring more fun interactions with the Drake sisters.

There were really interesting aspects to this book. Torpedo Ink is going into new territory making Player and Zyah key elements to their psychic abilities. It also looks like the club keeps growing with new members and I can’t help but think that some are spies out to get Torpedo Ink. Only the future will tell. If you’re a Feehan fan and want to know how this series unravels, then this book is for you.

This series just blows my mind it's so freaking GOOD...
Player... Yep tough as nails till he meets Zyah.

All of the members of Torpedo Ink are scarred and wounded but so far Player is the worst of them all. He tore my heart out that is for sure.
No one really knew of his abilities until now... Can Zyah save him from himself? Wow, hold on to your seat for this twisted, mentally mind-numbing, suspense-filled story. Can't wait to see who is next.

Reckless Road

Gedeon Lazaroff, aka Player, like the rest of Torpedo Ink, had his own psychic abilities. Deep in his heart, he has always felt that his gift was so much less valuable as he fellow club members gifts. His was more of a parlor trick, designed for entertaining the kids in the dungeons, making them laugh in spite of the conditions they were living in.
After using his gift for too long of a time, Player was desperate for quiet, restful sleep to get over the headache and pressure that he felt to the depths of his bones. He never let on to anyone in the club that when he used his gift too long, the illusions sometimes tried to become reality.

Zyah Gamal returned home to Sea Haven to care for her grandmother. Her dear grandmother had raised her after her parents died, and she knew she would do anything for her Mama Anat. Her dear Anat had been attacked during a home invasion and had broken her arm and leg. Zyah was very happy to be home, despite the circumstances. She wanted to be with her Mama Anat and the quiet, relaxing atmosphere of Sea Haven.
Player and Zyah met one other in an almost unreal night of music, dancing and passion. The night ended with Zyah heartbroken, and Player trying to distinguish between imagination and reality.
Their relationship was off on the wrong foot. Join Player and Zyah as he tries to undo the damage he caused during his confusion.
Many obstacles stand in their way. Elderly members of the community are being assaulted and robbed and no one can figure out why, or who might be targeted next.
Zyah is hired to work at the grocery store in Caspar that Torpedo Ink owns. This works out great for Player. He can work to convince Zhah that he is not really the complete jerk that he appeared to be when they first met. Then one evening when Zyah returned home, and Player had followed her to make sure she was safe, Zyah was attacked in her garage. Player attempted to rescue her and was shot. The attackers ran away, and Zyah knew she had to help Player as he was wounded helping her.
Player is severely wounded and remains at the home of Zyah and her grandmothers as Steele and Zyah worked to save Player and to help him heal. When the members of Torpedo Ink discover that Zyah is the woman for Player, and that she and her grandmother and friends may be in danger, they all pitch in to help and protect the women and the community.
It was great to read more of the cohesiveness of the club. They so seamlessly work together, shadowing and protecting the vulnerable. As tough and scarred as the members are, it is very nice to see that beneath those tough exteriors, they can be gentle and entertaining. But no one would dare cross any of them.
I found Reckless Road to be a major pager turner for me. I resented needing to sleep. As Torpedo Ink worked to protect the community and find the brutal burglars, you learn more about Player’s gift, and how it evolves, and also creates reality that is pretty scary. There are secrets that need to be found, and love that needs to be shared.
