Reckless Road is a story of trust broken and regained, a story of acceptance for simply being who you are and a story of coming to realize that you are more than you ever thought you could be.
Gedeon "Player" Lazaroff has never felt that his talent was a good as the other Torpedo Ink members, the talent that has always caused him to feel that he is out of control after using it for long periods of time, after using for extended periods his only hope is to simply shut himself away from everyone until his head is in a good space again. After I particularly hard job as he finally makes his way his room away from everyone, he finds an intoxicating beauty there but is she real or simply part of a dream. All he knows is that she calms him and takes the pain away.
Zyah was only at the clubhouse doing a favor for her grandmothers’ friend when the most amazing man walks into the room where is practicing her dancing. She feels that she has finally met the one that can be the other half of her soul, the one she has been waiting for. They had one beautiful night together but in the light of day he sends her away, and totally destroys her due to a misunderstanding.
When Player realizes that she was no dream but truly the one that is meant for him, he knows that he has to find a way to right the wrong and wind her back as she is the one that will be the one to save him. The lengths that he goes to trying make things right takes him so far out of his comfort zone, you can totally feel the love that is there.
When Player is seriously injured, Zyah and Steele are the only ones that can save him, but Zyah is truly the only one who can make him whole again.
I truly loved this book, even with all the twists, turns, and mysteries to be solved.

Another steamy, suspense-filled read…

Player and Zyah were the linchpins in this MC, family-focused romance and the chaos surrounding them. If you’re a fan of this series, Player and his family are no strangers. They survived he** growing up and bonded over death, danger and hope. Now they were the ones in charge and survival was still driving every move. Zyah and her grandmother were sweet additions to the group and they balanced out the rougher edges of Player. Zyah and Player’s rocky start meant a lot of angsty moments beneath them, playing out alongside the deadly threats stalking them…

Sunshine and darkness together made for a fractious courtship but that meant the drama and emotion were front and center as well. Steamy moments, deep conversations, and suspense meant this story had no weak moments but lots of anxious page-turning…

While the storyline seemed quieter than others in the story (which meant perhaps one notch lower than normal lol), that didn’t mean there wasn’t one scene after another of ‘get lost in the plot’ reading. Whether focused on the danger stalking Zyah and Anat, or the love growing between Zyah and Player, or the friction between all the characters… Yeah, lots of reading to savour…

Reckless Road is the next addition in the Torpedo Ink Series from Christine Feehan and brings us along for the ride with Player & Zyah as they discover their own version of an HEA. While it is considered a stand alone novel, this story is significantly enhanced by having read the full series. This series overall is very dark, but this one actually seemed lighter and more traditional as it focused in very narrowly on the community that Torpedo Ink has settled into long term. I loved it! If you've also read the Drake Sisters Series, we got a wonderful check in with Hannah - one that is delightful and funny. Also in this gem, I especially appreciated the closer view we were able to get on a few favorite Torpedo Ink members (like Destroyer) who have yet to have their stories fully told. This book really allowed the Torpedo Ink members to shine in their new community without having to delve into as much of the outlying underworld that we generally step in to with this group - and I actually loved the glance inside. This series continues to be one of my unexpected faves, and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Romantic, Sexy, Psychic Twinkle, and a Sci Fi Twist

Reckless Road is a beautiful, and touching love story. Player and Zhay's connection was immediate. But, Player makes mistakes like his fellow Torpedo Ink brothers when they find women willing to accept them the way they are. I loved how Player went to work and immediately started making amends to Zhay. Part of Player's issue along with PTSD, is he doesn't believe he brings the same value to the team as his brothers, and sisters. Add in the secrets he keeps that his illusions can become reality, and kill. His nightmares of childhood abuse have taken on the appearance of the White Rabbit/Sorbacov. Even in death Sorbacov still haunts Player. Zhay's a wonderful character, and assists, and brings Player a degree of peace during the nightmares by being psychically linked. She has an affinity to the earth, and can tell when someone is telling the truth or lying. She's soft, without any hard edges, caring, loving, stubborn when she wronged, and won't allow anyone to mistreat her. Their sexual chemistry is off the chart. Very sexy!

There's a group of robbers that are targeting the elderly in Casper, and Sea Haven, and Zhay's grandmother unfortunately is attacked, beaten, and robbed. Why do the robbers keep returning to Mama Anat's house? What are they looking for? This is Player's way in to make amends to Zhay by watching out for her grandmother, and Mama Anat helps Player view himself differently, and admonishes him to fight for Zhay's love.

There's an unexpected Sci Fi twist to the story that I really enjoyed. We see old friends, and meet new ones, and maybe a possible love interest for Preacher..

Player, the illusionist and and calmest member of the Torpedo Ink family is slowly losing his sanity falling into the illusions that he crafts for his brethren at great personal cost.  One night exhausted beyond belief and almost lost he manages to make it to the quiet serenity of his room at the club when he suffers what he believes is an illusion that leaves him with peace.  Zyah is a real person, not an illusion as he thought and now he's going to have to figure out to repair the damage he caused. Clearly a situation that will require finesse and a lot of groveling.....
As it turns out it's not hard to find Zyah since she works for Torpedo Ink at the grocery store they've just set up in town. The gang has a lot of fun watching the interplay between Player and Zyah but all is not well in town. Thieves are targeting elderly residents in the town amongst them Zyah's grandmother but even more sinister someone seems to be targeting Zyah herself.  When Player is injured rescuing Zyah he finds himself a guest in her home being nursed by her. Certainly one way to bring down the barriers of distrust that have begun to form between them.
The story takes a lot of unexpected twists and turns some of them a bit unbelievable and not really well developed from the reader's viewpoint. Of course Zyah and Player indulge in their sexual chemistry and end up exercising the bed as much as working on figuring out what's going on in town.  To me the story feels disjointed and inconsistent with too much going on, not enough direction, almost like a pot of spaghetti thrown against a well to see what sticks.
The book brings in a huge cast of characters including the Drake sisters who live in town.  The series so far has hinted about them and certainly the sheriff's office has been involved in many of the stories but for the first time we get to have the sisters feature in a story again. Despite enjoying seeing some of these characters again, I don't believe they really moved the story line forward in any way.  The author did a valiant job of bringing the story to a happily ever after close but I have to say this is not my most favorite story of the series.

This one didn't work for me as much. I loved this series, it's all very OTT and that's a thing that I enjoy. But in this case, I just felt like Player could have done better by Zyah. I had a hard time pushing through to finish.

Amazing Book

I have followed the Torpedo Ink series since the very first book came out and each and every one of them have been 5+*** reads. Reckless Road was no different. This author has always brought the men and women of Torpedo Ink MC to life and breaks my heart with what they have been through every time.

This is Player's story. As with all Torpedo Ink MC, Player has a special ability but along with that comes danger. Then one night when he was near breaking and his head ready to explode a beautiful woman was in his room so he had to decide after the best and most intense night of his life if Ayah was real or one of his illusions. Thinking she had to be an illusion he had said some things that broke her heart. Now it is his mission to have Ayah see how much he loves her and needs her in his life. She heals not only his head but his soul as well.

Their intense connection was epic and their story was mind boggling. I have always loved how these men and women were always there to protect the innocent each with their own special abilities. I always look forward to see what this author has in store next for Torpedo Ink MC.

Player is struggling to contain the fractures in his mind. He has over used his gifts and now protecting his family may be out of his reach...until Zyah. But when reality returns can he salvage his heart?
Reckless Road is fifth in Christine Feehan’s Torpedo Ink series. I loved getting to know Player better. He felt somewhat less than his brothers and sisters but I love that Ms. Feehan did not allow that misconception to continue, especially once it was brought out into the open. I loved seeing Player fight to regain Zyah’s heart and trust. Careless words and actions cost Player more than he could afford to lose so I loved seeing how Ms. Feehan helped him learn to fight for something so personal. I also loved seeing Zyah accept not only Player but also his family. She brought joy not only into Player’s life but also those of his brethren. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Player and Zyah learn to accept each other, to move beyond past hurts and grasp at a bright future.
This story was full of unexpected twists that I thoroughly enjoyed. I loved returning to this world and Player and Zyah’s journey did not disappoint. I loved seeing Player find his heart and soul in Zyah even as she did the same with him.

If you have read the other Ink books then you know there will be tears, anger, danger, drama, and sometimes hardcore gritty sex, but you will always be given an amazing story that you will be reluctant to see end. RECKLESS ROAD is author Christine Feehan giving her fans everything they could want and more.

Being a huge fan of this series, I was excited to learn more about Player as a character. Each of the men in this series are truly gone for their woman, so I was curious what kind of woman could handle him and his visions.
Zyah as a character was lovely. I enjoyed her strength and independence starting out. She was successful in her own right, but was ready to live a simpler life. So when she meets Player at a party, she is dancing to calm herself in his bedroom. He mistakes her for a dream, because she is calming his mind.
Both characters have powers, and those powers work in tandem in an unexpected way for me. This book was fun, but a bit harder for me to connect to than the last few. I still enjoyed it, and as always, the steam factor is sky high!

A wild ride towards forever! With book five in her always entertaining Torpedo Ink series Christine Feehan brings us Player's story in RECKLESS ROAD and it was quite the ride. I enjoyed Gedeon and Zyah together and there were aspects of the story that I loved, but there were also parts that were a bit out there. I hope as the series continues that we get back into the heart of the family of being the MC instead of playing up the supernatural aspect so much. Early books in the series were great ... the last couple were meh-ish. I love the group as a whole though, so I'm going to keep trying and hoping it picks back up again.

Player is a core part of the heart of the MC and seeing how much he gives of himself in order to protect is family is really touching. I enjoyed watching him fall for Zyah and find his own version of happiness.

Zyah is strong-willed and tenacious and I loved her for Player.

I recommend this series to anyone who loves a close knit group of MC members who are like family and always there to support their brothers and sisters through the good times and the bad.

Gedeon Lazaroff known as Player in the Torpedo Ink MC family has always seemed calmer and less haunted by his past than the other club members. His unique talent of making fantasy characters come alive looks passive; however, in reality it is about to push him off a dangerous precipice. While returning from a recent mission, Player barely makes it home because the outlandish hallucinations, which can turn deadly, are about to push him to a point of no return. Desperate to hold it together, Player practically crawls to his room in the MC compound only to find a woman who seems fabricated out of his dreams, but in a good way. Player does not know if she is real or another illusion; but she soothes his battered soul and takes his personal demons away.

Zyah was using Player’s room to practice her belly dancing away from a raucous clubhouse party. She is immediately drawn to the enigmatic man who blasts into the room clearly in desperate straits. Zyah’s music and presence are able to calm and captivate Player in a unique way. Because of their mutually strong and immediate attraction, Zyah and Player spend the night together indulging in hours of sensual bliss. In the morning, everything turns sour for Zyah because Player, thinking it was all a dream, treats Zyah like a club girl breaking her heart. Zyah thought she had met her soulmate only to be brutally rejected and turned away.

Once Player realizes his mistake and understands who Zyah truly is to him and the relief she presents, he tries to win her back. Player is already living on the edge; he is desperate to make amends with the help of his Torpedo Ink family. Someone is brutally attacking and robbing elderly people in the area including Zyah’s grandmother with whom she lives. While trying to protect them, Player is involved in a near fatal attack. They are forced to be together in close proximity while he recovers while Zyah’s own special paranormal talents help Player to heal more than just physically. Player and Zyah have a complicated and tough road to overcome in order to have a relationship that goes beyond past sufferings and debilities to a future together where both are in a good place.

Fifth in the Torpedo Ink series, this story once again focuses on the brutal upbringing of club members in a Russian school that was a horrific place of physical and psychological torture. While I enjoy this series, Ms. Feehan has a tendency to repeatedly replay over and again the terrible memories that each one of the members of Torpedo Ink endured; too much of this kind of concentration on their abuse has diminishing returns and overrides the story at times. Fans of the Drake Sisters series will enjoy seeing Hannah Drake as part of this story.

Reckless Road continues the story of the men of Torpedo Ink. I love this series and was excited for this entry. Player hasn't been a huge focus before and I was interested in his story. His psychic talent is fascinating and Reckless Road blends every element about the club I have come to love!

There are parallel plots to Reckless road: old people are being beaten and robbed and the club has stepped in to protect a few; Player's illusions are creating a dangerous alternate reality that could kill everyone. The love story follows both plots and is woven in perfectly. I loved Player and Zyah. Zyah is very grounded and far too kind to everyone. She cares so deeply about people, and she has her own gifts. She thought Player was her soulmate, but then he crushed her. Player loved Zyah from the moment they met, but he pushed her away because he was in danger. God save us all from men who think they know what's best.

Reckless Road is a long book at 480 pages, but it never felt long to me. Its scorching hot, danger filled, and touchingly romantic. Readers who enjoy a touch of the mystical in their romance will delight in this book and its unique love story.

Reckless Road is the next book in the Torpedo Ink series and I was super excited about this one.

One thing Christine Feehan is almost consistent with, is her ability to write hot and steamy connections between her characters. But with this series I feel like she goes a little darker than she has before, with characters that have suffered abuse.
Although it is sometimes hard to read, I feel like it brings depth to her writing and stories!

I really enjoyed this book; it might just be my favorite in the series! I can't wait for more from this author and this series.

I am so, so sad this book didn’t work for me! I am one of the biggest Christine Feehan fans, and I think her Torpedo Ink series is one of her best. Sadly, RECKLESS ROAD did not live up to the standards I have come to expect from an installment in the Torpedo Ink series.

The book follows Gedeon “Player” Lazaroff, a motorcycle club member able to create illusions. Unfortunately, his illusions are slowly creeping into his brain and becoming real inside his head and the outside world. His heroine, Zyah, is a classic Feehan heroine. A successful businesswoman who quit her job to come home and take care of her grandmother. Zyah and Player have one night together in the first chapter, and Player thinks it’s all a dream/illusion and casts Zyah away.

After the first chapter, I was like YES, grade A, Feehan alpha hero groveling – my favorite! But sadly, Player’s dismissal of Zyah was quickly and unsatisfactorily (in my opinion) resolved. The connection between Player and Zyah was almost hazy. Player doesn’t remember much, and while Zyah remembers, I didn’t think their instalove relationship was well-established. I also thought Zyah’s powers we inconsistent. I didn’t understand what she did to help Player, and by the end of the book, couldn’t discern what was going on with either main character.

The whole plot was convoluted and confusing. There are several overlapping subplots in addition to the overarching goal of the Torpedo Ink club and many, many characters. The Alice in Wonderland themes were odd and out of place. Part of the book, Player is out of commission, and not much happens except for everyone waiting or trying to make him better. It was all odd and disjointed. I kept rereading chapters because I was sure I was missing important parts, but no, the book and action jumped around at will. Plus, there was way too much repetitive information, which I would normally be able to ignore if I was enjoying the relationship between our main characters. But, sadly, none of it worked for me.

I enjoyed Zyah as a character, and her grandmother was a hoot, but I wish she had a better hero than Player. I was not a fan. The little Sea Haven/Drake sister scenes were a delight, especially for fans of Feehan’s previous series!

Overall, this book was almost a total miss for me besides a few moments of fun. I won’t let one less than stellar book stop me from enjoying the rest of the Torpedo Ink series. I need all those characters to have happily ever afters immediately! I can’t wait to find out who gets a book next.

(4.5) Be still my heart. Player in Hannah's shop had me in swoons, tears and laughter. The interactions with all were priceless I absolutely loved our big, tortured motorcycle guys watching out for the elderly, their gentleness and protectiveness. Player has layers to him we never knew, and the guilt this man carries. Oh my. Zyah brought tranquility, strength, intelligence and love to this series. My one issue is we all know Jacksons and Deverau from her Sea Haven Series and they are no push over, so I am having a little bit of trouble believing they are not seeing through some of the happenings with the club. This is a Christine Feehan novel so it had the non stop hot and steamy and then some. This is also her darker series in that all of the characters have endured beatings, whippings, abuse, sexual, physical and mental when the were children and teens. It is beyond gut wrenching, but the worse part is several levels of this goes on everyday all over the world. This series is about surviving, hoping and loving, At the end of her book Christine puts organizations and numbers you can reach out to help with, or reach out for help. Thank you for the arc, I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

Reckless Road is the 5th book in the Torpedo Ink Series and follows the story of Player and Zyah. Player is one of the calmest members of Torpedo Ink MC, so it might surprise you that he is considered to be one of the roughest. Not much seems to bother Player except when his gifts get the best of him. On one of his darkest nights, he meets Zyah and somehow she manages to soothe him. Their night together was amazing, but an innocent mistake threatens to ruin what was developing. Will Player be able to make things right? Will Zyah give him a second chance? There’s only one way to find out.

Overall, I thought this book was a pretty enjoyable read. I thought it well written and had a good pace. The characters were enjoyable and entertaining. I liked learning about Player’s gift and was utterly fascinated by it. I thought Player and Zyah were a good match. They had amazing chemistry and I really like how Zyah could settle Player. Just like the previous books in this series, this story had an intensity to it that draws the reader in and leaves them begging for more. All in all, a fine addition to this series.

It is Players turn to find the woman who can make him a better man but one who can accept all he has been through and be the mate he needs.

This story takes place in Caspar and trouble has come to town in the form of thieves who not only steal from the elderly but beat them too. Player is hurt while trying to protect Zyah. Between Steel and Zyah they are able to heal him but not eliminate his debilitating migraines where his relief is building bombs in his head.

Torpedo Ink has to stay and protect Player but also Zyah and her grandmother Anat, watching these strong men fall to the charms of Anat melt your heart

Watch as Jonas and Jackson help Torpedo Ink find the thieves who are tearing their town apart and figure out the mystery of a very strange map that just might be a deadly way to eliminate ones enemies!

I love watching Player find special ways to win Zyah’s heart. The interactions with Hannah are wonderful

We get a huge peak at Savage and Destroyers human side. Lots of information going on in this story

One of my favorite couples!

Reckless Road by Christine Feehan is the 5th book in her Torpedo Ink series. Brief refresher: Czar, who is married to Blyth, is the president of Torpedo Ink, and together with the men and women he brought with him to Sea Haven they built their Torpedo Ink MC club in Casper, which is close to Sea Haven. Each of these members have suffered terrible abuse in their childhoods in Russia, being forced to all become lethal assassins; each still very much trying to find the light inside their darkness. They are all determined to protect each other, and in each book, one of our heroes meets their mate.

Gedeon (Player), our hero, has a hard time dealing with his migraines and after returning to Casper and the Torpedo Ink MC Club, he quickly goes to his room, as he feels unstable. Upon arriving, he sees a girl dancing in his room, which seems to calm him, and learns she was waiting for a friend in this private room, since she was a designated driver. With his brain in overdrive, Player finds himself enjoying the girl’s company, and when he gets up in the morning, she is in the bed with him. He thinks he is dreaming, and pushes her away, only to learn later on that it was not a dream, and when she left one of the members saw her crying.
Zyah, our heroine, is a beautiful young girl, who left her successful job, to come to Casper and take care of her grandmother. Her love of dance promotes her special gifts of being able to read and heal fractured minds, especially those in dire need of help. Zyah knew she had some king of bond with Player, but was hurt how he mistreated her when he pushed her away, after a wonderful night and leaving money on the table for her, which she did not take.

When Player finally explains to his club members why Zyah was crying, and how she was able to rid the horrific memories while she was with him; they insist he needs to find her and apologize. In a short time, they discover that Zyah was working at Inez’s Country store, which they begin to notice some bad people hanging around the local neighborhood, and especially the homes being ransacked. The Torpedo Ink group take turns to spending time at both the store, and at Zyah’s grandmother’s house to protect them. When a couple of the villians approach Zyah, Player steps in to protect her, and in doing so, gets shot in the head.

What follows is an exciting and violent adventure, as well as a highly sexual erotic romance between two people who ended up needing each other. I did love Player and Zyah together, as they made such a great couple, and her ability to heal Player, also brings them closer into solving a puzzle as to why Player was creating illusions of bombs. This was a very interesting concept to this storyline.

I love all the members of the Torpedo Ink family, including the equally lethal female members (Lana & Alena), and the ladies who become part of them (Blythe, Anya, Breezy and Soliel). Each book we get to see how all our heroes were tortured as children, and suffered, with each of them doing all they could to protect each other. I absolutely loved the scenes with Player and Hannah Drake (as well as Jonas), they were pretty funny. Always great to see any of the Drake Sisters, which has always been one of my favorite series.

Reckless Road was so very well written by Christine Feehan, as well as being exciting, tense, and emotional story line. The entire Torpedo Ink members are an amazing and wonderful group of characters that we fully care for. Again, I will note that Feehan does have a lot of sex scenes, but at least the story was mostly in the forefront. Reckless Road was a great read, with a fantastic group of recurring secondary characters. If you have not read this series, you need to start with the first book

Gedeon is a man of extraordinary strong will. His talent of illusions saved his chosen family and himself many times over. He can even create amazing illusions of characters to entertain others. This sounds like a very powerful and fantastic ability. The problem is, it is damaging his brain and he is losing his mind, literally and figuratively.

Each time Ms. Feehan features one of the survivors in Torpedo Ink, I don't think it can be any worse. As in, I didn't think these once brutalized children could have experienced any more trauma and cruelty. I am proven wrong. E.V.E.R.Y S.I.N.G.L.E. T.I.M.E. My heart breaks for these men and women. I am seriously baffled at how they can be functional. Most would be either dead by suicide or in a straightjacket in an institution. (Although I believe straightjackets are no longer used in the States.) I digress.

Gedeon's talent matches Zyah's talent perfectly. I love how Ms. Feehan created Zyah. Zyah's cultural background conjures up exotic spices and vivid colours. I loved learning about her ancestry and more about her grandmother. Zyah and Gedeon's interactions are strained with sometimes too many helping hands and misunderstandings. It seems that every single member in the Torpedo Ink club wants to be a martyr. They all sacrifice for their brothers and sisters to the detriment of their own well being. I feel like Gedeon's is one of the worst we've come across so far.

The wooing of Zyah by Gedeon is cringe worthy at times because of his messed up mind. The conflicts are so easy to see happening and it's like a train wreck we can't prevent. The pain they unheedingly cause each other only heightens the intensity of emotions evoked by this book. I love it. The ending to this grim love story is sweet with a happily for now. I recommend this paranormal romance to readers who enjoy dark angsty romance with alpha males and motorcycle clubs.
