With this captivating novel, readers will come to the conclusion that not everything is as it seems and be careful what you wish for. Be Careful What You Wish For is sure to have you engrossed from start to finish.
Pru and Madi swap houses and life isn’t always better on the other side. This was a slow burn read for me and didn’t grip me as much as I hoped it would.
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.
Not quite a thriller but this was a very good read anyway. Two women who need a "break" from their normal, everyday life decide to swap homes for a month. Each made the decision with some specific goals in mind. Both women adapt and heal from the swap, so in the end, what they wished for came true. There is some supenseful chapters but for the most part, this is a book about learning to live your best life.
A slow burn of a novel.about a house swap. This was an easy read to while away a couple of hours. Thanks to the publisher and netball for the arc.
This book was very interesting and fast-paced, the author held my attention and the plot was very appealing. I would recommend this book to friends.
Be Careful What You Wish For by Vivien Brown is a book about two strangers who swap homes for a month. Madi, an actress and recovering from breast cancer and Prue, a photographer for her local newspaper. Madi lives in London and Prue has inherited her grandmother’s country cottage.
The storyline is about what happens to both the women in their month long residence in two completely different homes and how their futures are changed.
Highly recommended

I found it full of twists and turns threw out and it kept me on the edge of my seat all the way threw I would defiantly recommend this book if you like a good book to keep you reading threw the night hopefully you enjoy it as much as I did
I really enjoyed this one and will look into this author more. I enjoyed with twists and the flow of the story. The writing was well done and kept my interest throughout. I will be recommending this one to friends.
Great book. Highly recommend and will most defiantly read more by this author and suggest to others!
Unfortunately this was a DNF for me. It just didn't draw me in and I did not want to get bogged down trying to continue reading it.
I found this a little hard going. It was a bit boring and not a psychological thriller as expected.
It was a good story, but it was so slow.
What a lovely book. Not too taxing but still enjoyable- I read it in one afternoon and didn’t really look up so that’s a positive point. Give this a go if you want a gentle read without having to think too much.
This was a great positive read! Prue and Madi both need a change of scenery and arrange an home swop with Prue the younger women eager to get to the hectic London scene and Madi needs some peace and quiet in a quaint country village. The setup is perfect for both women and we learn their stories as they see that a geographical cure just moves your issues with you and often highlights them more. Not really a mystery or psychological thriller, I would classify it as women’s fiction and I enjoyed it.
When two strangers agree to switch homes for a week to escape their lives because of recent traumatic events, they believe that this is going to solve all of their problems. Things start our wonderful and each of the women start out by making friends and learning to forget their past. But as we know, all good things must come to an end. I was seriously hooked from the beginning because these characters were just so well done and the story line had me wondering whats going to happen next and when the pin was going to drop.
While this was a good story it didn’t have the thriller aspect that I was hoping for. It was a bit slow for me as well. Thanks to NetGalley for the privilege to read and review this book.
I didn't really get involved in this story, seemed rather dated and artificial and I couldn't relate to the characters.
The cover and book title are deceptive as this did seem as though it was going to be a psychological thriller. However, it’s not.
It’s about two women, Prue 24 and Madi 62 who want to escape their current lives and decide to house swap for a month. It is reminiscent of the film ‘The Holiday’.
Despite there being a little drama, it’s just too twee and not very convincing. They fall too effortlessly into each other’s homes and lives.
If you’re looking for something easy to read, say a holiday beach read and you don’t want to have to think too much, you’ll enjoy this.
I rate this book 3 stars 🌟🌟🌟
In my option it was a feel good story despite the fact there was a mysterious vengeful character waiting in the background for the right moment to make their move.
