This is a really good story.
Lovely ending.
So glad everything went right with mina.
Can't wait till I read the next story
I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review. This book is well written and the characters are described well. This is a fast paced romance. This book mentions Geneva and I absolutely adored Mina’s character. I would recommend reading the first book in this series to get to know the characters better but this is a good book. This is the seventh book in this series’s. This ebook is in stores for $5.99 (USD).
The Little Swiss chalet by Julie Caplin
A well written story. Mina escapes for a two week adventure in the Swiss Alps to find herself after a failed romance. With the help of her godmother follow Mina’s journey and her zest to improve her life and trying to decide what she really wants for her life going forward.
This was an escapist, atmospheric read with plenty of fun twists and turns. I loved escaping reality and delving into this one. I also thought Minna was a great, well developed and likeable character. It's one that I actually bought multiple copies as Christmas present for my mum and some friends, as I enjoyed it so much. This author is now a firm favourite of mine and I can't wait to read more from her.
I’ve read quite a few of Julies books in this ‘The Little’ series and they alway put a small on my face! This one was no exception. A sweet, cosy story with a lovely wholesome romance, just what I needed after being in a bit of a reading slump! I loved the snowy Swiss setting (now I really want to go too) and all the talk of delicious chocolate!
Another great book, thank you, I’ll definitley be back to read more in this series .
I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.
Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.
However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x
Lovely feel good book to read. It was a joy to read. Lovely characters. Great plot. The book was charming. Very well written. I’d definitely recommend this book lovely location. Perfect seasonal book to get you in the mood for the festive season. What’s not to love. Idyllic location to set the scene
Found the main character annoying rather than endearing, and the writing itself just seemed to bury everything in descriptions of food which just did not seem to have/deserve so much place on the page. It thus proved a tedious book to follow, and with the heroine herself not being likable (to me), I did not enjoy this one, sadly
I was given a free ARC for my review on NetGalley.LOVE beautiful descriptions of Switzerland.I got so wrapped up in the story I didn't want it to end.
I have to say that this wasn't so much a romance read as just a fun read. I think as long as you know that going in, than you will enjoy the story more. I loved Mina's character and was along for the ride as soon as the crazy proposal went sideways. I enjoyed all the characters that Mina meets at her godmother's chalet, the side characters can sometimes make or break a story. These ones added so much life to the story they were a must. I liked Luke and enjoyed this read very much.
Love, love, loved this book! After being disappointed in Julie’s last book (nothing against her, I just didn’t enjoy it), this book seriously reminded me just how much I do actually love this series. The characters were great, the location was fab and the whole plot was just wonderful. I really liked that the ‘drama’ wasn’t the stereotypical chick lit drama and was something a little different and unpredictable. I’ve already got the next book on my kindle and I’m excited to start it!
Thank you for netgalley and the publisher for a free ecopy of The Little Swiss Chalet in exchange for an honest review. I usually love Julie Caplin's romantic escapes but I didn't find I flew through this one as quickly as so.e of the others. I also thought the end with Lyke knowing where Mina was staying the whole time, but not being open about it actually a bit creepy!
The perfect romantic read. The Little Swiss Ski Chalet has a more developed plot than the others in the series. Mina is warm hearted and cares for those around her. When a surprise for boyfriend Simon goes wrong, she heads up out to Switzerland to stay with her godmother Amelie and 'sort herself out’.
The descriptions of chocolate had me wishing I was there, and hoping the Ski Chalet actually existed! A great escapist read.
A new author to me and it definitely won't be the last book I read by Julie Caplin I am downloading more as I type (attempting to multi-task !!!! ). On a sunny weekend it was lovely to transport to the little Swiss ski chalet.
I started reading the book, but was not drawn in & decided not to continue reading. Thank you for the opportunity to review this book, but it unfortunately just didn't work for me to continue with it.
An excellent read and a chance to escape to Switzerland for a nostalgic reminder of skiing in powdery snow, improving rudimentary skills and drinking hot chocolate with spectacular views. All that and an excellent story with believable characters. You have to fall for Luke at the same moment Mina falls with him on the train. Jules's writing easily draws you into the ski chalet and laughing at the comical characters.
I love visiting the world through Julie Caplin. I have added Switzerland on my bucket list. Add the chocolate and food and you have me moving there. Very cute and nice book. Wonder where I will be off to next.
I love Julie Caplin books and this one did not disappoint. Set in the beautiful snowy Alps you can really picture the cosy chalet and want to be there and a perfect place for a lovely romance. Lovely warmhearted read perfect for curling up in front of a fire
This was a brilliant read and is being featured on my blog for my quick star reviews feature, which I have created on my blog so I can catch up with all the books I have read and therefore review.

I really liked the descriptions of scenery and food in this story, but the relationships felt a little flat to me. The ending also could have been a bit better. It was a decent story, but I wanted a little more from it.
