2 books in 1 ☺️
The first part shows how identical twins are dressed up in the same way (I don't know why parents and people are so obsessed with making the twins look the same), get the same things for them and do the same things. Yes, it happens in real life.
The second part shows the different personalities and the likes/dislikes of the twins.
This book is cute and well done.
But yes, I am looking forward to more books on twins but from a better perspective.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
'Mia and Molly' includes two unique stories about twin girls who look alike. It is a simple, short book for toddlers to show how twins can be similar and different. It had very cute illustrations and a positive message.
Thank you NetGalley and Clavis Publishing for providing this ARC.
I didn't expect this story to be divided into two books - the same and different. It's a cute book about twins where their similarities and differences were enumerated. It has cute illustrations too.
Illustrations are nice and it’s nice to see a book about twins, but I don’t see this going out at my library
A colorful story full of the ways twin Mia and Molly are the same and the ways they are different. Great way for kids to see the difference in preference in people even when they look the same. Great for very young children..
Mia and Molly: The Same and Different is a fun flipbook for young kids. It has soft colorful pictures and easy language to follow along with.
Open from one end and you will read all about how Mia and Molly are the same: they wear the same clothes, play with the same toys, and sleep in identical beds. Open from the other end and you will read all about how Mia and Molly are different: they also wear different clothes, play with different toys, like to eat different foods, and enjoy different activities.
This book is a great book to introduce kids to the idea of not only what it's like to have a twin but also what it's like to have a sibling. Siblings have many similarities as well as many differences, so I would recommend this book for any parent about to introduce a new child into the family to teach the current child what it will be like to have a sibling. This book would also be fun to read to a set of twins to help them understand that while they look alike and do many of the same activities, they are each individual who have their own likes and dislikes as well. It would be cool for twins because each one can read one half of the flipbook.
The best part about this book, though, is that at the end of both sides, both Mia and Molly love to snuggle with Mommy and Daddy. That's a sweet way to end the book.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the gifted copy, all thoughts are my own.
First I thought the illustrations were completely adorable, I love the style. This was a cute quick read that shares we can be the same and enjoy some of the same things but we are also unique and different.
This would be a great book for small children.
It did seem to stop extremely abruptly, as in goodnight, books done.
