Hopeful, enchanting, and sweetly romantic!
Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is a heartfelt, adorable, second-chance romance that features the kindhearted, scarred Sophie and the handsome, dependable Chase as they navigate a relationship that includes undeniable chemistry, a devastating accident in the past, a relationship that ended badly, and an irresistible, four-legged, furry friend.
The writing is cosy and light. The characters are generous, hesitant, and endearing. And the plot is a compelling combination of family, friendship, community, generosity, tender moments, and swoon-worthy romance.
Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is another playful, emotional, charming read by Rains, and even though it’s a little sad to say goodbye to all the characters we’ve come to know and love over the past seven novels, it has been an absolute pleasure to be able to indulge in all the romance, adventure, mishaps, and love that’s gone on in Sweetwater Springs over the entire series, and I can’t wait to be swept away to Somerset Lake when the new series kicks off later this spring.
(partner) This is such a bittersweet review for me because it’s the last book in my beloved Sweetwater Springs series 😭😩 These books brought me such comfort last year, they were such easy, cozy reads to get lost in so I almost didn’t want to read this one because now it means they’re over. BUT the author has a brand new series starting later this year set in a new neighboring town and I’m hoping for some crossover after some hints were dropped in this book.
This is a second chance romance between Sophie and Chase. I’ve long wanted a book about Sophie so I was excited it was finally her turn. Chase is the veterinarian in town, so if you like animals there’s plenty of that cuteness here. I loved the themes of forgiveness and second chances here and thought it was such a wonderful way to end the series. Once again, this was the perfect mix between emotional exploration and some lightness, Annie has a way of balancing the light and dark that just works so well for me and this series will always have a little piece of my heart! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

I really love the town and residents of Sweetwater Springs. I always enjoy Annie Rains’ writing and and I’m a fan of second chance romances done well. Unfortunately, Reunited on Dragonfly Lane was my least favorite in this beloved series.
At first I really enjoyed Sophie Daniels and I love what she did with her Fairy Godmother closet. It’s a brilliant idea. Eventually, however, I wasn’t such a fan of hers. I understand that her past accident forever changed her life to a degree, but she was still quite capable and able to live a full life and I wasn’t fond of her repeatedly bringing up what she could not do, through even her inability to try was solely based on fear. Admittedly, I wasn’t a fan of Chase either and his stubborn biases.
I also am never a fan of couples who don’t just talk through obvious issues, but instead keep quiet and then are surprised when the problems escalate into something far greater. The issues that this couple faced seemed rather petty and easily reconciled,
Some of the issues with Petey also seemed like problems that could have been addressed with the teacher or the school to at least be improved significantly. And the ability of this young boy to hold a grudge for a one time incident seemed unbelievable in my experience.
Overall, not a lot seemed to happen in this story and it was easy to see what was coming, and what was coming was frustrating. As a whole, I found this particular story, though sweet, to be a little too vanilla and bland for me. It was predictable, rather uneventful, the characters held grudges and biases and I just didn’t love it, like I did her other stories.
Reunited on Dragonfly Lane by Annie Rains is the seventh book in the Sweetwater Springs series. The story is a second chance romance. Sweet story. Well written and enjoyable. Great addition to the series!
So many feels in this story. Sophie has worked through so many emotions and they aren’t through with her yet. I love the way she helps ladies through her boutique. She definitely gives back to the community that gave to her. Chase is trying to get a handle on his own feelings. Can the two of them work through a second chance for them? How will Trisha and Petey handle what life has dealt them? Love the folks in Sweetwater Springs and I think you will too. I have enjoyed every book I have read by this author. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

Sweetwater Springs has been such a great town to visit and I'm sad to see this series end but I'm also excited to travel to Somerset Lake.
This story has a lot of angst and sometimes was heavier than I was expecting. Some parts I skimmed to get through the details but I was pulling for Sophie and Chase from jump.
A sweet and emotional second chance romance
A devastating accident derailed Sophie and Chase's romance when they were eighteen, but now that he's moved to Sweetwater Springs to help watch over his nephew he's doing whatever it takes to settle into his hometown, and winning Sophie back is at the top of his list.
Sophie had very good reasons to push Chase away ten years before, and she's not ready to consider that those reasons had an expiration date. But when she needs a veterinarian and Chase is the only one in town, she can't resist wondering if there's hope for a second chance.
Both Chase and Sophie have issues they need to deal with on their way to a very satisfying HEA, and I loved the gentle yet persistent manner in which those obstacles were addressed.
I love the sense of community in these stories, and the focus on the interpersonal relationships of all kinds brings a level of intimacy and realism that makes this series impossible to put down. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
If you are looking for a small-town romance, low on steam and high on sweetness, Annie Rains always delivers. I have enjoyed reading her Sweetwater Springs series, although it should be noted that each book can be read as a stand-alone. If you are looking for a second-chance romance with a side of puppy love, this is the book for you!
The book begins with our main character Sophie hitting a dog with her car Dog lovers don't worry! The dog is fine because lucky for him (and Sophie) the town vet is her ex-boyfriend Chase. As Chase and Sophie join together to help Comet, they begin to rekindle their feelings for one another.
Reunited on Dragonfly Lane was a predictable, yet charming read. Chase and Sophie were a sweet couple, and I enjoyed watching their relationship grow. Thank you to Forever Reads for this gifted copy. All opinions are my own.
I have really enjoyed my time in Springwater Springs. I have come to know so many of the characters and they really feel like family now.
I have read all but one book in the series, I'll need to read that one too.
A second chance romance for Sophie and Chase who is the town's veterinarian and always on call.
Small town romance is sure to delight as we see Chase's feelings come to life again in his unresolved relationship that he had with Sophie when she was a teen.
After her accident everything changes though and they go their separate ways.
When a sweet puppy is involved in an accident who takes care of him? The town's vet of course and it just happens to be Chase. Fostering the dog is something boutique owner Sophie is happy to do and the pup is sweeter than Valentine's candy and does a fine job of bringing this couple together again.
I sped read this tender sweet small town romance with it's ups and downs and plenty of woofing delight!
Bonus story by Annie Rains and recipes included as well.
Expected publication: January 26th 2021 by Forever

In short: 2nd Chance romance between high school sweethearts brought together again by a dog.
Synopsis: Sophie is on her way to a friends wedding when a dog runs in front of her car out of nowhere. Chase, the local veterinarian and Sophie’s ex, happens to be on his way to the same wedding when he sees Sophie’s car on the side of the road. They quickly take the dog to the clinic and luckily it only had a broken leg. Unfortunately the dogs elderly owner has decided she can’t keep him and the shelter is full so Chase and Sophie agree to co-foster him.
These 2 have a lot of history. Years ago Sophie was in a climbing accident that nearly left her dead and severely injured her leg. She blamed Chase for not being there when it happened and broke things off with him. Years later Chase is now back in town and wants a second chance with the woman he never stopped loving.
My thoughts: I loved this final installment of the Sweetwater Springs series! I mean a dog bringing a couple together? Count me in!
What I enjoyed:
🐾The progression of the romance from re-acquaintance to cautiously hanging out with the dog to dating to the obligatory fight to making up was done well and seemed natural.
🐾 The dog Comet. ❤️ This new dog mom knows exactly how Sophie felt from being apprehensive to a dog at first to definite dog mom by the end.
🐾 The underlying themes of forgiveness and asking for help. This was seen not just with the Sophie and Chase but with several secondary characters.
Thank you to Forever Publishing and NetGalley for free copy of this book in exchange for my review.
After reading the Sweetwater Springs series from the beginning, I’m of course sad that it’s ending. I’ve loved getting to know this small town and its citizens throughout the pages of each book. Annie Rains has always made each character unique and they come alive through her writing. She’s a must read author for me and that’s why this book is getting a four star rating from me.
But if I’m being honest, I wasn’t a fan of either lead character. They just didn’t gel for me, either as a couple or individuals. I spent most of the book being annoyed with Chase, until I finally admitted that Sophie was the real culprit of my ire. She spent years blaming the wrong person for her accident and I justI couldn’t summon much sympathy towards her. And that makes this reader a bit sad.
So while this chapter has closed, I am so looking forward to the next series from Ms. Rains! I’m pretty sure I know where it’ll be set and who it will feature (wink, wink) and I cannot wait!
This is another sad review - I can't believe we're at the finale of the Sweetwater Springs series! I'm super bummed to leave this place behind, especially because the series has seven books (plus a couple of novellas). It's really started to feel like a new reading home for me. Annie Rains, like Jenny Holiday, sits atop my favorite romance author list.
This was a cute finale - I enjoyed reading about Sophie's life and resilience. I'm a sucker for a second chance romance, obviously, so her coming back to Chase (the local vet) was excellent. They were high school sweethearts torn apart after her accident, college, and moving away from Sweetwater Springs. She now owns a boutique in town and Chase returned to take over the veterinary clinic. Their relationship was sweet, somewhat hesitant, and full of rekindled chemistry. The real star of this book though? Comet, the foster dog that Sophie is caring for after his own accident. It was cute to read about a puppy; I'm clearly more partial to books with dogs now that I have one ;)
There was a gala/fundraiser at the end of the story that casually brought together lot of other main characters from previous books, which made for a lovely send-off and summary for the characters I loved so much.
Despite this being the final book, I still found myself reaching for who may be characters in upcoming books! It's a habit I can't break haha. I have to admit that I'm curious about Chase's friend Jason, who was introduced toward the end of the story. Not only was this a lovely finale, but it did a great job of setting up for her next series at Somerset Lake, two hours from Sweetwater Springs. I won't spoil how it gets introduced or who is involved, but I'm definitely excited.
This was a well written book with a predictable storyline. I loved the characters and wanted them to find each other again. I think that the story was a bit long for the outcome and it could have been created as a short story or novella. Otherwise, it was fun to read. Enjoy!
It appears that everyone in Sweet Water Springs has found their happily ever after! Or at least this is the last one we will get, since this is the final instalment of the series.
I may have come into the series later than others, but the characters and love stories that Annie Raines has created in this fictional town have completely captivated me and Chase and Sophie were no exception from that rule!
A chance accident has Sophie hitting a puppy with her car on the way to a friends wedding… thankfully Sweet Water Springs is a small town and the local vet, also in route to the wedding pulls over to help… not so thankfully when said veterinarian is your ex high school sweetheart that you have been avoiding since his return to town!
Not with a healing puppy linking their fates, Chase and Sophie take this opportunity to see if a second chance at love is in the cards for them…
With many years and differences between their teenage selfie and the people they are now, can they forge a new past ahead while dealing with old baggage and resentments?
Maybe a second chance isn’t enough?!?!
I Love How Annie Rains jumps us right into the story and our characters histories. She doesn’t pull any punches and lays all their faults and issues out for the reader. But she also sweetens the deal by showing in all our favourite characters and bring the romance to us pretty quickly in this book. No slow burn here! I loved that these two very deserving characters found their way back together and found a way past the personal hurdles that were blocking them from happiness as well.
I’m sad that this is the end for Sweet Water Springs, but excited for the next series that was hinted at in the book!
This is the 7th book in the series, but the love story told can totally stand on its own if you have not read any of the series before.
Reunited on Dragonfly Lane by Annie Rains is scheduled to release January 26th, 2021.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Forever Grand Central Publishing through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I’m a latecomer to the Sweetwater Springs series having only read the last 2 books in the series. But now that the series is over, I’ll have to start back from the beginning to see how the love matches started for the other couples in this North Carolina small town. The author has a clear vision for what this town looks like and it shows in the description of the stores and businesses lining Main Street. This was a perfect ending to this series while opening up a glimpse into where the next series will take place.
I’m not normally a big fan of closed door/fade to black romances, but this was done well and I didn’t feel that I was missing out. Reunited on Dragonfly Lane was an adorable, heartwarming, second chance romance between the town’s resident veterinarian and boutique clothing store owner. For the animal lovers out there, Comet certainly stole the show a few times and played a big role as matchmaker between Chase and Sophie. I enjoyed all the friendships between the townspeople and how the town comes together to support one another. With low angst, believable characters, and learning to let go of thoughts and mindsets that can hold us back, this book is sure to make you believe in second chances.
Sophie and Chase were high school sweethearts, but then accident changed this.
Chase went to attend college and didn't come back, until now.
Sophie, realized that she still has feelings for Chase.
Both of them needs to put past behind them to have a better future.
I loved Sophie and Chase.
Storyline is wonderful.
Although this book is part of a series it can definitely be read as a stand alone. I loved the story of Chase, Sophie and Comet. It is a story of facing your fears and forgiveness. I loved the story and highly recommend.
Such a beautiful addition to this series.
This second chance romance is epic and beautiful! Chase and Sophie were sweethearts when they were young. When Sophie ends up stranded on a mountain for 36 hours with life altering consequences, she blames him for what happened.
Skip forward about 10 years. Sophie now owns a local boutique, and Chase has come back to town to be the local vet. When Sophie accidentally hits a dog, she and Chase start to feel sparks again.
This story is one of moving on, moving forward, and mostly, of forgiveness. It was beautiful, and I was so in love with it!! I highly recommend checking it out!
Although part of a series this story can be read as a standalone book.
Sophie suffered a severe leg injury as a teenager that has left her with a scarred and damaged leg. When it happened, she pushed away her teenage boyfriend Chase, so he'd go on to college. She's a successful business owner now and as long as she does her exercises and pays attention to cues, she manages fine.
On her way to a friend's wedding, she hits a dog and her former boyfriend, Chase is back in town after 10 years and is the only vet. He comes to her rescue and they realize they're both on the way to the same wedding and will be late.
They reconnect and their friendship is rekindled but can Sophie face her fears and find a life with Chase. Chase has continued to climb and hides this fact from Sophie. Can they each face the accident and how it affected their relationship to move forward? Read this story to find out and you'll be glad you did!
I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.
I have read a few books in this series and have really enjoyed them it was really fun to catch up with past characters in this book. I really liked this book a lot. I feel like some books have a lesson to learn in them I’m not sure if authors intend for that but it happens. I feel like that was the case in this story. We each need to conquer our fears and find the love in them and around ourselves. I really liked how Sophie, Trisha, and Nadine all felt like real people and not characters it was easy to feel like I was catching up with friends with them. I did like Chase he seemed like he knew what he wanted but also took the time to want to learn. Over all this was a clean read and a fun read.
