A well-written biography of the great British novelist. Greene (the biographer) has an uphill battle, though, in attempting to catalogue the author's tumultuous life & times, plus give at least passing notice to many of the novels, plays, etc., written during the author's lifetime. It seems to me he succeeds in presenting an eloquent cradle-to-grave portrait, but those wishing for more analysis of Graham Greene's work might wish to locate additional books to gain those insights.
A sparkling new one-volume biography of Graham Greene considers not only Greene’s novels but his work on behalf of human rights violations around the world, his struggles with faith, and his subtle yearning for joy.
