I love Samantha Young's books. She writes such emotional, inspiring and sexy romance books. I had a little bit of a hard time connecting with the MC in this one but overall it was still a great read.

Much Ado About You is the feel-good escapism you need right now!

There's so much to love about this book!

Bookshop vacation in England - check!
Handsome male lead - check!
Big, adorable, friendly dog - check!
Literary references sprinkled throughout - check!

This is a true contemporary romance for bibliophiles and I couldn't have adored more!
The relationship between Roan and Evie is lovely to see unfold, but seeing Evie really come into her own and follow her passions was so delightful. It's an empowering and flirty read that will take you away to small village in the English countryside filled with eccentric characters each with their own quirks and story.

Many thanks to Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley for the advance copy.

As if my love for Samantha's work wasn't already fierce enough after reading Fight or Flight.. she had to go and do it to me again. Just enough to keep my fellow steamy romance lovers FULLY invested, without scaring away anyone with a desire for more.. delicate intimacy. The whole storyline is about a woman relocating temporarily to rethink her life with a clear slate and no distractions, including love. I loved how every single decision she made, was not only thought but the author discussed it in a way that no matter where you are at in your life, what your goals are.. you connected to some aspect of this story and Evie's choices. I finished this book in one sitting, and as soon as I finished.. I found myself wishing I could reread it.

Much Ado About You
By Samantha Young

An impromptu holiday
An English Village
A Bookstore

I needed this sweet holiday feel good romance by Samantha Young, that I devoured in a weekend of blissfulness reading. Evangeline may not be living the dream in Chicago being passed up for a promotion that she needed to get away from it all. What better place to make that escape than in a quaint English town in Northumberland with a package that comes with a temporary position working the bookstore underneath her rental apartment called, much Ado About Books. Can I sign up for this please I'd like to book one now. hahaha!

Just like any small town, a bookstore is the hub of the town news, gossips and all the much ado's especially one sexy farmer Roane Robson in an uncanny meet-up involving a dog.

I just adored all the fun characters - the residents of this quaint town, the swoon worthy flirtations, and and most of all, Evie's growth and finding more about herself, her future and her heart. I just loved this book!

Much Ado About You by Samantha Young
Rating 3.5/5 Stars
Publication Date 2/2/2021

I really enjoyed this book. As a fan of Shakespeare, I was drawn to the title first and then the summary. I actually moved to England in 2018, not for the same reasons as Evie, but did end up finding a home here. I really enjoyed the relationship between Evie and Roane, but I enjoyed her relationship with Shadow (doggo!) and the villagers more. It was lovely to see them welcome her. Caro’s character arc was beautifully done.

However, I did find it pretty unrealistic that a stranger can come for a fixed period of time and suddenly solve problems that have existed for so long. Caro’s aunt, the feud in the village, relationships between feuding families and mothers/daughters, etc. I do like how the author portrayed it, so it wasn’t a big problem, but kind of unrealistic in my book. As this is in fiction, I’ll allow it! The situation with Roane was kind of obvious to me from the first time the concept came up. I had a feeling that he was lying and what he was lying about - that when it came out, It was sad, but also I was ready for it.

Overall, this is an excellent cute, romcom! I recommend it if you want an escape!

My thanks to NetGalley for making an eARC copy of this book available to me.

I enjoyed the descriptions of behind the scenes working in the bookstore. I just found myself not believing in the rest of the plots so much. This book will work fine for many, just not so much for me.

Adorable, fun, light romance.

Evie is having a rough time so she books a trip to England where she meets Roane - who is a great book boyfriend. This is just a light, feel good romance as we watch Evie grow as a character, fall in love and get her life on track.

It's never too late to go on an adventure for self-discovery, no matter how old you are. Also, never forget that age is just a number. Love a person for who they are, not for where they come from, or for how long they have been on this earth. This novel gives very strong messages about not being afraid to follow your heart. Also, all the REFERENCES to Shakespeare? I was living for it! Evie is literally ME, with her obsession with books. The author makes me want to take a trip to the UK (a country I absolutely adore). Sometimes a change from the city to a small town is all we need to find our true selves, and this novel expresses exactly that. DEFINITELY, A MUST READ! ALSO, I LAUGHED WAY TOO MANY TIMES HAHA. A FUN ROM COM!

Wow. WOW WOW WOW. This book was everything. This was my second Samantha Young book (read Fight or Flight the day before I read this one) and I have to say, I am a new forever fan. Her books are incredible. I don't usually give rom com's five stars because they are sort of all the same, still entertaining, but lacking any "reread" concepts. Not Young. This book is a FULL FIVE STARS from me. I am gushing. I am telling everyone to read this book. It is a must.

First of all, the main character is me. I swear. She's 5'10. I'm 5'10. She's single in her thirties. I'm single and almost thirty. She has some body confidence issues. I have some body confidence issues. She moves to England .. I want to move to England. Seriously, it felt like I was reading a memoir at time.

This book held so much wit, banter, love, emotion, steam. It truly is EVERYTHING I want in a book. Also the concept of a vacation while running a book store? This sounded so good and cool to me that I immediately looked it up, and sure enough this exists. Hello Scotland 2022, I'm coming for you!

Such a cute book! While I did get frustrated with the protagonist towards the end, it definitely was worth it!
Will for sure pick up Young's next book.

Does she actually want to find romance or does she just feel like it's the "next step" in life? At the age of 33, fresh off another failed dating app attempt and having just been passed over for a promotion at work, Evie Starling knows she needs a change. Surprising herself and everyone else in her life, Evie quits her job and books a month long vacation working in a small English village at a bookstore. As a lover of words, there is no better place for this bookworm to gain some perspective on life than by immersing herself in her temporary position at Much Ado About Books. But a chance encounter on her first full day in town has Evie getting swept up into the small town community and it's all she can do to keep Roane Robson, a charming bachelor at bay. Knowing her stay is only temporary Evie tries to keep them all at bay, but finds it increasingly difficult not to let the various villagers who have taken her under their wing into her heart, especially the Roane and his dog Shadow who seem to be offering her a chance at everything she's ever wanted.
This is a charming book that will leave contemporary romance readers well satisfied. Evie is a very relatable character in her early 30s who I think perfectly encapsulates many of the pressures and disappointments of online dating for "older" women (I say this an admittedly single female reader in their 30s). Her determination to take a break from online dating is admirable and I think the author successfully establishes first friendship, then romance aspect of Evie and Roane's relationship. There is also the charming background of the quaint English town and all of its inhabitants. We get to see a fair bit of relationship building and repairing between a diverse array of characters as Evie establishes relationships throughout the community.

I liked this so much until it came predictable. As a giant bookworm I often dream of uprooting my life to run a bookshop in rural England. But I figured out the twist quickly and then had a hard time finishing it. Overall it was a good read, entertaining and cute as pie.

After a terrible internet set up and a life changing job choice Evie decides to vacation running a bookshop in England. She loves the small town she is staying in and feels connected with the locals. Especially Roane, the sexy farmer. As the two grow closer Evie realizes that there might be something more between them than friendship. But Roane has a secret he doesn’t what Evie to know.

4.5 stars!
This was absolutely adorable!! This was my first book by this author and I had no idea what to expect going in, but this romance absolutely swept me off my feet.

This book had one of those settings that you just want to crawl into. Between the adorable small English town, welcoming neighbors, sexy farmer, and quaint bookstore, I want nothing more than to jump into this book.

I loved how this story really focused on Evie's personal growth. Even as a 30-something, she was still trying to find out what she wanted from life and it was great to see that plot with an older character (because same).

I loved the slow burn of this romance. Despite the immediate connection and obvious attraction, these two developed an amazing friendship. And by the time they finally got together I was ready to burst.

Everything about this was warm, and wonderful, and left my heart ready to burst. I can't wait to read more from Samantha Young!

My review is live on Goodreads and will be posted to my blog on March 3rd @ 9am

I really enjoyed this book! There's just something so inviting about a little bookstore in a small village where everyone knows everyone. I really enjoyed the relationship between the two main characters, but I also enjoyed seeing how Evie interacted with all of the rest of the townspeople and really because a part of the community. This was a light and fun romcom, perfect for a quick read. Highly recommended to fans of the genre!

Much Ado About You by Samantha Young is a friends to lovers’ story and a secret fantasy of mine come to print. Evie is having a really bad week when she is stood up on a date and she quits her job after being passed over again. Then her best friend tells her she’s pregnant, making her the lone person still unmarried and childless. Things have got to change so she decides to vacation in England for a month and run a bookstore. How cool is that?!

What Evie didn’t count on is finding Mr. Perfect after she saves his dog from peril. Isn’t it befitting her life that she meets Roane after swearing off younger men and men with money. Roane is smitten and attracted to Evie but will take friendship with her and let time work in his favor. He’s handsome, charming and attractive. She can do friends. She went to England to straighten out her life and find her purpose; not to find a man. However, the attraction is too much and after a time she decides she’d like to see where this can go. You can feel the slow buildup of their mutual attraction and how they try and ignore it. Their relationship gets tested and you’ll have to see if both handled it in the right way, but you know it all works out in the end.

What I also liked about this story is the other characters and the other two side stories that are woven with the main romance. Evie involves herself in their business and of course their lives intertwine with hers and Roane’s. It gave the story more depth and richness and moved the story forward. Evie went to England to figure out her life and in her time there she made some big decisions and made quite a big change. It was an enjoyable read for me because I’ve been to that part of England and it took me back to that beautiful place. The author has created an engaging contemporary romance with likable characters and a good storyline. If you’ve read her other series, On Dublin Street and Hart’s Boardwalk, you will really enjoy Much Ado about You. I’m really hoping she’ll take us back for more.

MUCH ADO ABOUT YOU by Samantha Young is a contemporary, adult, romance story line focusing on twenty-six year old English rancher Roane Robson, and thirty-three year old American editor Evangeline ‘Evie’ Starling.

Told from first person perspective (Evie) MUCH ADO ABOUT YOU follows thirty-three year old Evangeline Starling in the wake of another failed attempt at dating, and losing a promotion to someone younger. When the opportunity to spend a few weeks in England surfaces, Evie jumps at the opportunity to take over the management of a small-town English bookstore. Enter rancher Roane Robson, the man with whom Evie will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Evie and Roane, and the potential fall-out as Evie feels betrayed by lies of omission.

Evie Starling has a few rules when it comes to dating, and a few weeks in England finds Evie struggling between head and heart. Never expecting to find love on another continent, Evie quickly succumbs to Roane’s good looks and smooth attempts at seduction and love.Roane Robson owns and works a large ranch on the English countryside but finds himself pulled into the aura that is our story line heroine. Evie quickly becomes the town sweetheart as she works to push lovers together in the midst of her own life falling apart.

The relationship between Roane and Evie is one of immediate attraction but Evie has made a promise to herself not to get involved with another man but Roane has fallen quickly for our story line heroine, and in this Evie finds herself falling for Roane in return. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The colorful and captivating secondary and supporting characters include many of the townsfolk that come in and out of our heroine’s life.

MUCH ADO ABOUT YOU is a wonderfully fun and romantic story line. The premise is entertaining and delightful; the romance is flirtatious; the characters are animated and spirited.

I was sold on this book because it features a leading lady who, running from her romantic troubles in Chicago, ventures to the English seaside to rent and run a bookshop. She then proceeds to fall in love with an attractive farmer and befriend the quirky people that live in the village.

The first half of this book was so good, I was drawn in getting to know the characters and the seaside village of Alnster. I thought it was cute and I really liked the main character, Evie.

At the two-thirds point, the two main characters get together and the book got less interesting to me at that point. It was still good but I found myself skimming large portions of the second half of the book since there wasn't as much tension of 'will they, won't they'.

Overall, a very cute and fun read especially for bookworms.

This book is everything your weary soul needs, the cuteness factor was on overload here! Evie has finally had enough of being overlooked and she’s ready to take control. My favorite scene is when she wholeheartedly takes her life back and does whatever SHE wants. That means she’s moving to Scotland to manage a small village’s bookstore and the eccentric characters we meet are so delightful. This is a slow burn, not only with the main romance but, with the people as well. As Evie slowly manages to befriend all the people in the village, there’s one that is definitely trying to make sure he’s out of the friendzone. It’s a story that warms your soul and is a perfect Valentine’s day read. I’m really hoping there’s a character here that gets her own book!
