I liked this book and it was well written with some lovely images and is the second I read in the series, the first being a book on Mommy that was pretty much in the same vein.
The book had a nice flow to it and I liked the way that the story was written too.
It is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!!

If you have read "How to Get a Mommy to Sleep," then you have to read "How to Get a Daddy to Sleep" as well. Such a sweet story of spending time with Daddy as a child! The simplicity of the book does not detract from the sentiments portrayed. In short, it's a simply perfect book for fathers and their children to read together. It will go hand in hand with the "How to Get a Mommy to Sleep" book in my gifts for baby showers!

What a sweet book! How to Get a Daddy to Sleep is adorable! I would definitely only recommend it for families with daughters though. If I read this to my sons, they would not understand (painting the toenails). But for families with daughters, I think it is so cute!!

This book is adorable! My kids (5 &3) giggled all the way through. They enjoyed the bright pictures and the "silly Daddy." My 5yo said that it is obvious that the Daddy loves his little girl. I enjoyed this book through parent's eyes as well. This was a wonderfully creative way to portray the love and devotion of parents even through the busyness and exhausting demands of the day. We will be purchasing this one as soon as it is released!

In a funny and cute fashion, the author helps kiddos have a better understanding of the sacrificial and loving task that their daddy play in their lives. Fathers will also feel appreciated and seen. I am thankful for these things.
As per this book being Christian, I would disagree. There are references to God, as in being 'thankful to God' without mentioning anything about Christ or the gospel. I would say it is just religious. Either way, those references to God help the goal of helping the child to practice thankfulness to the One who gives all good things, like daddies.
I would gladly sell this book in my store and I would buy this book for myself if there was an edition with a boy as the character instead of a girl, only because I have 3 sons and I think it they would benefit more of that father-son relationship.

The battle to provide money for a comfortable and easy life, parents overloaded with obligations that are constantly pressuring them, the desire to provide materially what our children need, sometimes leads to the fact that we completely forget the emotional needs of our children. They may have expensive toys and clothes, attend fancy games and parties, but sometimes what the children really need is quality time spent with their parents.
How to Get a Daddy to Sleep by Amy Parker in an interesting way shows the kids what they can actually do with their dad. A series of ideas for activities that will not only improve the quality of time spent together, but also enable the child to develop a critical attitude and thinking. At the same time, it encourages the creation of children's work habits and responsibilities as part of the family, where all members are equally important and contribute to the well-being of all, according to their abilities.
The beautifully written rhyming verses, as well as the colorful illustrations, are more than enough to interest your child in the picture book. You can look at the activities, discuss them and decide what your child can do.
The added prayer at the end is an additional benefit for the children of the Christian faith, which enables them to learn something new and interesting.

I love this book. It is a celebration of dad and daughter quality time. A little girl conjures up a plan to get her busy daddy to bed.
"Daddy is a gift from God;
He never takes a break!
Let's show him how to get some rest--
No matter what it takes!
She starts early and puts her plan into action. She helps him choose his clothes for the day, makes him a kid-fancy meal for breakfast, takes him outside for a walk, helps him with his chores, and paints his toenails pretty pink, just to name a few.
She sings him a lullaby and before tucking him in they say a prayer together. He reminisces to her about their super fun day and she softly kisses him goodnight.
This sweet rhyming book is both heartwarming and humorous. Kids will love the role-reversal aspect as they love being in charge.
How to Get a Daddy to Sleep from bestselling author Amy Parker is perfect for
families with young children who always have energy left over at night
preschoolers and elementary-school children who regularly ask for a funny bedtime book
reading aloud for a silly and sweet tuck-in story time
telling any dad "you’re my hero"
helping kids think about all the ways parents care for them
The author includes "A Bedtime Prayer for Daddy and Me" at the end of the book and a deluxe textured spine. The illustrations are colourful and animated which will delight even the youngest child. This book would make a perfect gift for dad to let him know how much he is cherished. I highly recommend this book.

Thank you for the early reader book #Netgalley

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Cute book about how to get Daddy to sleep from the viewpoint of a child.

Cute rhyming book about putting daddy to sleep. The daughter shows him what to do before going to bed when he gets home from work.

Cute book with great pictures! I read it with my 4 year old and we both loved it! It's hard work getting a dad to sleep since there are so many things that have to be done in a day but this little girl manages to make it happen. I especially liked the prayer at the end of the book. This is a good night time book for toddlers and preschoolers. Illustrations and story are appropriate for this age group.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review.

How to get daddy to sleep is a sweet story from a child's point of view. The daughter goes through their day with the purpose of wearing her dad out enough to get him to sleep well. They have fun p laying outside, and also do their daily chores. I liked the unique perspective of this story.

I received an electronic ARC from Thomas Nelson: Children's through NetGalley.
Delightful and humorous story told from the child's point of view. She offers tips and techniques to help daddies relax and rest. Told in rhyme with overtones of the challenges dads face. Lovely prayer for a dad at the end. Detailed illustrations bring the characters and locales to life.

This is a quick moving rhyming story, with a prayer at the end. I enjoyed how the story flowed along.

This book opens with a child observing that Daddy works very hard. In this rhyming story, the daughter tries to help. For example, she adds some jewelry and a hat to dad's outfit. She makes a meal for her dad with a sweet bill that offers a hug and does not ask for payment. The two continue to enjoy their day until, finally, it is time for bed! What is sweet in this book is the warm relationship between the parent and the child who feels securely loved.
This story is from a Christian publisher so there is a bit of religion in the book. For example there is a bedtime prayer. The book is a companion the the publisher's other title, How to Get a Mommy to sleep.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this title. All opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley and Tommy Nelson/HarperCollins Christian Publishing Inc. for a copy of "How to Get a Daddy to Sleep" in exchange for my honest review.
This book is intended for parents and educators to read to children ages 4 to 8 or grades kindergarten to 1. The bold, bright, richly colourful illustrations will appeal to children.
The story centres on a little girl and her dad - how she tries to make sure that he has a good rest at night - sort of paralleling what parents want for their children. The day starts off with the little girl devising a plan to help her busy dad get some good rest. They start their day playing dress-up together. They have a fancy meal together for a cost of 3 hugs! They have some outside time together, some chores in the garden and washing the car. She paints his toenails and they cheer on a game. They have story time together and a lullaby - daddy doesn't mind if you sing off key. Tucked in for the night, a kis goodnight and Dad is fast asleep. The story comes with a prayer for Dad.
This book is a wonderful tribute to Dad and all that he does throughout the day for his children.

This is a cute story, the idea of the daughter having to wear daddy out and put him to bed was sweet and fun. My 4 year old loved it and the illustrations were great!
5 Stars!

First, I want to thank Amy Parker, Tommy Nelson, and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
How To Get A Daddy To Sleep is by Amy Parkeris a definite must read for all the Daddy’s and their young Daughters. I was all smiles as Amy drew on your heart strings with the beautiful bond this father and daughter shared.
Amy made a great choice picking Natalia for her Illustrator on this book. Her graphics were very colorful, fun, coloring book-like, and most of all the scenes played well with what Amy was writing. With what Amy wrote and Natalia drew the two of them pulled on my heart strings and made me feel the love. You could tell that the characters in the book meant a lot to them.
I thought it was refreshing and sweet at the end of the book that there was a prayer. You don’t see many children’s books let alone adult books with prayers in them these days. It was a nice change.
I hope Amy and Natalia continue to work on other projects together as they both are very talented.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read and review.
This book was listed as children's fiction and christian. The story and illustrations are super cute and fun. There is mention of God and prayers (as expected), and there is even a little night time prayer for Fathers. It is a cute book and I could see gifting it to friends who I know are religious. I would skip this one if religion isn't your thing.
