Becky Rapinchuk's previous book on how to keep house without wanting to die (seriously that's how I feel) was excellent, and this is a great follow up on the processes you can deploy to keep things going.

Delightful, informative, easy to follow are all ways I would describe Rapinchuk's most recent book. The highlight of this book is that it is structured as both informative and workbook so that the reader can actively stop and consider what Rapinchuk was presented. For those of us who struggle to maintain a semblance of balance in our homes this is a great starting point to demystify the process and creating systems that are tailored for us and not just prescribed by an author. Rapkinchuk's writing style is clear and conversational so it's like you are working with a friend as you go through developing systems for organizational peace and not just cleanliness in our homes. Make sure to check this out if you find yourself at a loss from all the advice in the homemaking space.

This book is filled with household strategies which serve as great reminders or practical starting places. Although written in workbook style which I usually find tedious, I found this book to be very helpful! Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author, for a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed reading this book! It was really thought-provoking and right in line with the way that I like to run my home. I thought Becky did a wonderful job organizing the book and setting her thoughts and challenges us. I felt very inspired and encouraged, not overwhelmed. I loved her concept of pairing systems and rituals. That phrase really stuck with me and I've been working on including that in my home upkeep. I really appreciate how in-depth she goes in her book. You can quickly read through the whole book and grab a few takeaways as I did. Or you can go deep and dive right into her whole cleaning system, room by room. Her website has a lot of information but I found the book easier to process. For me, reading the book and supplementing with her website information was more manageable. I'd recommend this book for anyone starting out with keeping a home or for veterans looking for a few fresh and new ideas.

Thank you to @Netgalley and @Harperonebooks for allowing me to read Clean Mama’s Guide to a Peaceful Home. I enjoyed this e-book so much that I took three pages of notes in my journal of ideas to incorporate into my home.

I love these kinds of books. Books that give suggestions of ways to bring peace, joy and simplicity into my home. I am always looking for ways, routines and shortcuts to help keep things in order in my home. There were so many ideas and take-aways in the Clean Mama's Guide that I have already adopted into my weekly life. First, I started with Five Daily Tasks. Becky had some good recommendations and I think I only modified one for my home. 1) Make bed daily. 2) Walk around the house and do a quick 123 straighten up. 3) Straighten Kitchen & wash the kitchen sink daily. 4) Make sure everything is in the proper place. 5) Do a load of laundry daily.

Becky also recommends having a weekly cleaning schedule. I am working on developing a schedule that works for me and my priorities but I definitely like the idea. The book has so many great suggestions for cleaning the house including recipes for homemade, environmentally friendly cleaners. I've been using the one for the kitchen sink for two weeks and my sink just shines.

Another thing I liked about this book is that Becky suggests ways to include and teach your children how to help maintain the order in the house. A happy mama = a happy family and if everyone works together life will be so much better. Especially these days when we are spending so much time together.
If you are looking for a book with practical ideas to help with household cleaning and maintenance, then this is the book you want!! It came out at the beginning of 2021 so you can find it now in the bookstores. I highly recommend this book.

This book was a delight to read. I think this is a perfect companion to anyone who is new to having a house or apartment of their own since it has lots of helpful resources to keep you on track of what to do when!

Went into this wanting to love it, but as much as I want ritual and a peaceful home, there just wasn't enough of substance here to make me want to finish it.

This is a very practical book for getting your home (and your life) in order. The author provides prompts and manageable step-by-steps to organize and clean your home, and then system suggestions to keep it that way. Becky Rapinchuk writes in a personal way and shares anecdotes from her own family and home to illustrate each chapter. I enjoyed reading this book and took away many tips to streamline my day to day life.

I absolutely love organizational books, but this one fell flat for me. It felt like just recycled advice from other sources.

In a time where many of us have spent more time at home than ever, I think many of us have searched for ways to keep our spaces clean and cozy. Enter this book!
Rapinchuk not only gives information on how to clean your space, but also gives tips on how to make home a place you’re comfortable being in.
There are other books that will give you cleaning tips, but I really enjoyed the fun, lighthearted tone of this one and I would recommend it.

I highly recommend Clean Mama's Guide to a Peaceful Home by Becky Rapinchuk for anyone looking to start the new year with a cleaner, more organized home. If you are new to The Clean Mama I think this book is a great place to start. It solves the problem of “where do I even begin?” by walking you through your home room by room and asking you to identify your “pain points” in each space (what’s not working or overwhelming to you?). Then the author discusses common pain points for each room and offers a variety of simple and practical ideas, recommendations, and routines to meet your cleaning, decluttering, and organizing needs. Most valuables all, the author not only offers a lot of guidance on how to initially clean or organize a space, but also on how to keep it that way.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for providing me an advanced reader copy of this book for review. #CleanMamasGuidetoaPeacefulHome #NetGalley

I recently read the author's other book, and it wasn't necessarily my cup of tea. I"m all for being clean, but the all natural thing is just something I don't have the time for. With this book, however, there were some organizing tips that I thought were fairly useful. This one was more more pleasant to read and didn't come off as holier than thou as the other one did.

I do not enjoy cleaning, but I do enjoy a tidy home. This book has some great, easy to apply principals to make cleaning more enjoyable. I liked the way everything was broken down by room and suggestions were given for each area. I also liked the idea of pairing pain point tasks with happy tasks. Anyone who doesn’t enjoy cleaning or feels like they don’t have time could benefit from this book.

According to the publisher, CLEAN MAMA'S GUIDE TO A PEACEFUL HOME by Becky Rapinchuk "explains how to simplify anxiety-inducing cleaning routines into an organized, 10-minute daily system." Sounds good, right? Except that the author (the blogger behind the Clean Mama website) lays out tasks for each day of the week, including washing all the floors in your house on Thursdays. That task would certainly take more than 10 minutes and, honestly, I have way too much more to do that wash the house floors every week. I actually ended up feeling more anxious as I read Rapichuk's suggestions. However, there were some common sense aspects that were appealing – like pair a hated task with a more fun activity (e.g., empty your dishwasher while brewing coffee in the morning to get an immediate reward). Rapinchuk has published other popular books and has many fans so perhaps the best way to approach this is simply a bit at a time. Do what you can and let the rest (e.g., night sink scrubbing with concoction made with two different essential oils) go!

As a fan of the Clean Mama blog, I had high expectations for this book and it delivered.

My cleaning style has always been hit or miss at best so this helped stream line it so I don't frantic clean or get overwhelmed. I do feel like it would be hard to follow the book as it's meant to be followed because, realistically, most of us have full time jobs and don't have the amount of time in the day the author does to put into cleaning, but, using some common sense, I adapted the program to what works for me.

I was torn between 3 and 4 stars for this book but ultimately went with 3 because I personally didn't get that much out of it. It will be a big hit for people who like doing workbooks and getting assignments. Every chapter is filled with spaces where you're supposed to identify "pain points" (what's not working, what you hate to do in that room, etc.) and then things like what is working, and what routine you think would work better. She gives examples of her own pain points and things that she does, but she does not tell you specifically how to make your own routines or what to do. In a way, this makes sense because everyone's spaces, needs, goals and abilities are so different. But if you're looking for a book that tells you exactly what to do in every room, this isn't it.

Every home organization/cleaning book I read has one or two things I take away and mostly fluff otherwise. Marie Kondo has the idea of sparking joy and a couple of others. One of these books taught me the container concept, which was a huge lightbulb moment for me (every dresser, bookcase, room, etc. is a container and that's as much as you can have -- fill it with the best first and get rid of the rest, period). With this one, one of the takeaways for me was to pin unpleasant tasks with established positive routines, like unload the dishwasher in the couple of minutes the kettle is boiling in the morning. That makes sense and I've started doing that.

I did fill out the endless spaces (digitally, with notes on my kindle) for what I didn't like about managing every room, what my ideal weekly cleaning routine would look like and so on, but I honestly found it a little tedious and promptly archived the book so I'm not sure it helped much. Some books motivate me to make all kinds of great changes. This just reminded me what doesn't work in all my routines. And while she tells you her routines, they don't fit me and I am not getting up at 5 a.m. to start my housekeeping day, so it wasn't that helpful for me personally. I do suspect that other people will get a lot more out of the book though, especially SAHMs with young children. I also think that a physical copy will probably be much more helpful, as you can flip through and revisit all the things you filled out.

I read a digital ARC of this book for review.

The book starts with covering how to find time and create cleaning routines. This section includes evaluating some areas of life where you can be more efficient (a particularly good section on meal planning/grocery shopping gave me some great new ideas). Then the book goes through a detailed "Clean Home Reset" section, where the reader evaluates each area of their home for what is working, what are pain points, what systems are in place or needed, and what rituals can be created. There are lots of good tips, hints, and thought provoking questions. The book specifically states that it can be used as a journal, and there are spaces throughout to write down answers to questions - for this reason I recommend a print copy rather than ebook, but a reader could also take notes elsewhere. . The appendix includes diy cleaning product recipes.
Following along through the book is geared towards helping the reader both declutter and figure out cleaning systems and routines that work for their home and life.
I received an ebook ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Great book for this time of year with tons of helpful advice whether you are looking to do a serious deep clean of your home or just get things organized for the new year. Very easy to read and easy to implement - while there are some projects that can be a huge undertaking- this book offers tons of simple ways to organize your space and clean your everyday space to make it enjoyable, clean and functional. I bookmarked a ton of pages to go back to as I get ready for 2021! Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
