Enjoyed it once it picked up, but was a bit meh about this one as it took a long time to 'take off' romance-wise, and if I hadn't been sitting down for a while with this book, it could easily have lost me if I'd had to drop it and then would probably not have picked it back up. It's a good read once it gets going, so stick with the slow start and wait for the hero and heroine to really start connecting
This was a new-to-me author and I wasn’t sure what to expect so I was pleasantly surprised once I started reading. It was well written, the pace was perfect, and the characters were charming. I love the way Lorelei and Jack slowly become friends and their relationship grows into love. It was interesting to watch how their two different lives were able to blend so well over time. The mystery of why Brodie’s life shattered in his senior year kept me reading until the end. I really enjoyed reading this book and will certainly be looking for future books from this author.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
3.75 stars.
It was a really nice quick and easy read. I fell easily in love with the characters, espesially Jack. He seemed so wholesome and kind, knew he had flaws and wanted to work through them. He did not want to give up his son, nor the person who became the love of his life. Sometimes it felt like things happend a bit too fast, but it was alright.
I received a copy of the book from Netgalley to review. Thank you for the opportunity.
A nice idea behind this story with some sweet memts. I thought it strange how one of MC's who was a teacher kept describing how attractive her students were. Sorry, but it gave me creepy vibes.
An OK story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It had many Hallmark movie vibes which I loved. I was all about the connection between Lorelei and Jack the two main characters. And I loved how Lorelei was still wanting to do all she could for her students, even after they weren’t her students. This was a great read.
A mix between you've got mail and serendipity about Lorelei and Jack, she was Brodie's teacher, Jack's son, better he got spelled from his prestigious highschool.
A cute read, with some drama, struggles, family, and romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book received from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
When Jack comes to get his son Brodie, after he is kicked out for having drugs in his school locker, he is struggling to handle the connection between himself and his son. When he finds a note in a book, written by his son's English teacher, he reaches out to her for advice. Lorelei finds she loves interacting with Jack online, which leads to more. Overall I did like this one, although at times felt a little unsure of the relationships. Odd names too, which made me change them in my head (am I the only one who does that?) but other than that I enjoyed this one had would highly recommend it. A quick and easy read.
Ahwwww, this is just the cutest story I've read in ages. Lorelei is an English teacher, at a prestigious New York High School. When one of her most promising students is expelled for having drugs in his locker, she is shocked. She can't imagine that Brodie would do such a thing. So right before his mother sends him away to his father's ranch in North Carolina, she writes her emailadress in his English book and promises him he can contact her any time. Much to her surprise, it is Jack, Brodie's father who reaches out to her via e-mail. As a single dad he struggles with Brodie, who doesn't want to talk about the reasons for having drugs in his locker. Lorelei and Jack start exchanging e-mails. At first about homework for Brodie, but soon they start to have a more personal note. Where those e-mails meant to be? Is it serendipity?
A swoonworthy story, with secrets and struggles. Karen Anne makes the characters come to live. Absolutely wonderful. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
A traditional way of how relationship is develop... via letters or in this story email. Lorelei is Brodie’s teacher. Brodie, a star student was expelled from school when the school authorities found a packet of drugs in his locker. Just before he leave the school, Lorelei has given him a book where she skip her email address for Brodie to contact her if needs arises. His father’s Jake was the one who initiated the conversation with her. From what is started as innocent conversation to try to help Brodie, it has developed into something more deeper which both of them acknowledge. The budding relationships between Lorelei and Jake is not well accepted by the school and Brodie’s mum. Hence the conflict that they have to endure.
Overall it is a good read for me. I love to read the email they wrote to each other. One may feel their love by just reading their email.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
"I often wonder how we all got here - not just Brodie living with me.
What made you write that message on Brodie's book?
What are the odds that I would have seen it?
I suppose that's the beauty of the art of serendipity"..
What a charming surprise!
I expected this book to be pretty tame for me, too much chick-lit and not much action but I.could.not.put.it.down! Not hurried, but not slow either, with just the right (and by that I mean - little) amount of drama, this was a very well written book. For a pretty slow burn romance this was really captivating.
The Art of Serendipity is the story of Lorelei and Jack, a highschool teacher and the rancher father of Brodie, a teenager who gets in trouble and is asked to leave the school. Their love story develops through emails about Brodie's assignments and along a passion for books. It ends up beautifully, peacefully, with dreams coming true. Who could ask for anything more?! :)
What I liked the most about this book, it's its elegance. The dramas could have been terrible, there could have been a lot of fighting, situations could have been exaggerated, but the author knew just when to stop, when to add the bits and pieces of Brodie's story as to turn this into a charming, lovely read, with not much angst. A great surprise, I highly recommend it.
When high school senior Brodie is expelled from his prestigious New York City high school, his teacher hands him a note as he is leaving the building offering to be there for him if he needs her. Lorelei cannot imagine how Brodie has gotten into such a bad space as he has been an exceptional student. Brodie's father Jack comes up from North Carolina to help and takes Brodie back to his ranch. He finds the note from Lorelei and after he is unsuccessful breaking through to Brodie, emails her to ask for advice. What starts as a concerned effort to help Brodie turns into a friendship and their emails become more personal as time goes by.
This book was a pleasant surprise. Karen Anne is a new author to me. I love this kind of story. The email correspondence was just so beautifully written as was the rest of the book. I loved Lorelei from page one, Jack's character so fit the description of a horseman, and the rest of the characters were also fun and realistic. This book was hard to put down.
My thanks to Karen Anne and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book and give my unbiased opinion of it. I see more books by this author in my future and plan to enthusiastically recommend this book.
I loved this book! The blurb got me interested but the writing sucked me in. Should have started this book earlier in the day, needing sleep made me put it down, but finished the next morning. Jack and Lorelei are opposites: city vs country, classics vs Stephen King, and they both have Jack’s son Brodie in common. A young man finding his way. What starts as emails to help reach his son, becomes a friendship and more. I will positively be re-reading this book!
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the advanced copy in exchange for my review.
