Like You Love Me by Adriana Locke a four-star read you will love. I was so close to giving this five-stars, it just missed something I have come to expect from this author. There was the usual charm and characters you could get behind and feel for, but it lacked the gloss and sparkle. It was light-hearted and fun, but had a little depth and drama, Sophie has real challenges and I could understand her completely, she wants to prove something to herself, to her Grandma maybe, but mostly to herself. Holden was good, but I just wished he had stood up to his family more, stood up for his Pap Fred more. Overall a good story, just not as good as I normally expect.

Wow, what a wonderful book! Holden & Sophie filled my heart with sunshine. I loved their story & I’m hoping we get more from the Honey Creek characters in the future

This is a sweet and simple fake realtionship to real lovers story. Whilst it didn't blow me away, I thought it was cute. It's very fast moving. I would read a chapter or two and see I had progressed 10% through, it would seem.

Both Sophie and Holden were decent and mature adults which made this story quite refreshing. Both seemed to be relatively capable at processing their emotions, not getting into petty fights, etc. I quite enjoyed getting to know their inner thoughts.

It's very light on the steam and all in all just a sweet, romance story about two childhood friends who needed a marriage of convenience which slipped into something more. It feels like a warm hug when you've finished.

Another triple S (soft, sweet, swoon) friends to lovers story with arranged marriage theme. The characters were sweet pies. The story’s development may be a little predictable, a little drama, angst, but mostly safe, entertaining, easy to read, heartwarming, relaxing.

Yes, there are some cliches but there are so many awww moments put so many lovely smiles on your face which break your dark cloudy mood.

The agreement was simple: friends with benefits theme. No! They don’t plan to sleep together. At least they didn’t plan it at the beginning!
Sophie needs fast cash to save her inherited bed&breakfast as Holden who recently broke up with her fiancée, tries to prove one of his important employer he can be decent committed man.

The arranged marriage can fix their all problems but what about the secret spark between them which slowly grows throughout the years. It can blurt out any second with additional undeniably hot chemistry.

People think they’re in love. They think they’re great pretenders. But guess what they’re not Oscar worthy actors as like they think. They start to fall for each other which also means the fall out of their perfect plan!

Yes, I gave so many clues. It’s a great beach read but you may also lying on your couch with your snacks and refreshments and consume this lovely book as a reward for happy weekend plan.

I love the author’s work and her writing style. So I’m giving my lovely, second chances, friends-lovers four stars with a big smile on my face.

Special thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for sharing this lovely arc with me in exchange my honest opinions.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Adriana Locke and she didn’t let me down with this book. Like You Love Me is a cute friends to lovers - marriage of convenience story that will have you flipping the pages to see how it ends.

These two have been friends since they were little kids when Holden would come in the summer to visit his Pap, the local veterinarian. They were best friends. And then life got in the way but Holden is back and Sophie and him need each other in different ways. But once these two get what each other needs things change and a love like no other blooms.

Entertaining, swoon worthy, and unputdownable. I would highly recommend this to any romance reader!

*I was provided an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and voluntary review. All thoughts and opinions in the book are those of my own.*

4.5 Stars

This author is my go-to when I need a good dose of romance. There is a certain charm about her characters that draw me in and make me believe in love again. It is wholesome, almost a southern, good-ole-boy charm, mixed with a down-home but feisty girl that is fierce sprinkled with the perfect amount of steam. Her heroines always remind me of how I picture this author to be in real life after watching some of her social media posts. I especially felt her in this story and imagined Holden to be like her husband from the way that she speaks so highly of him. In the afterward part of the story, I discovered I was right and it made me love the characters that much more.

Holden and Sophie were that perfect couple. Even though the storyline itself was a bit cliche, it still was heartwarming to watch these two gravitate toward something that real after starting out as fake. I loved the secondary characters and hope Liz gets a story. I would have liked to have had more of a resolution with Holden's dad.

I recommend this author to anyone wanting to experience what honest to goodness love is.

I loved this sweet romance! Oh, how I love small towns. I always wanted to up and move to a place where everyone knows everyone. It seems so amazing.

That is exactly what happens here. Holden moves to help his grandfather at his Vet practice while he is between jobs Holden has been coming to visit here since he was a kid. He and Sophie has been friends since then. Always a spark between them is now going to be a blessing and a curse when a fake marriage surprises everyone. I loved their chemistry and their relationship!

Another great read from Adriana Locke!

This was such an adorable, compelling book, and I couldn’t put it down for even a second once I’d finished the first chapter! Like You Love Me follows Sophie and Holden, childhood best friends who both find themselves in desperate need of a partner in holy matrimony, and thus wacky “fake marriage” hijinks gleefully ensue!

This book hits the ground running, and I was utterly captivated by the wittiness, lightheartedness, and swoon-worthiness that surrounded me from the beginning to the very end. There’s so many comforting, familiar tropes used in Like You Love Me — from friends to loves to marriages of convenience — that romance loves will adore! But don’t worry, they never once felt stale or ineffectual, and the author managed to make me feel like this was the first time I was coming across them, which is no easy feat!

Sophie and Holden are a fantastic, charming, and (most importantly) believable couple, and I longingly, achingly wanted these two to kiss from the get-go (but where’s the fun in that?)! I was practically screaming at them to work out their differences and make it official throughout most of this book. They’re amazing, together and on their own, and I liked focusing on both of them. They’re both strong, and brilliant, and I can’t stop thinking about them. On top of these two wonderful main characters, you’ve also got a brilliant and realistic portrayal of small town life, hilarious sibling dynamics, and that smattering of angst that we all love to hate (but don’t worry, it’s all worth it!). I‘ve also been left with a desperate desire to run away and start my own inn, so watch out for that!

Like You Love Me is the perfect, cosy book to lose yourself in right now, especially amid all the chaos and uncertainty we’ll be facing for a while. You’ll be consumed by Sophie and Holden for hours, and you’ll come out of the other side feeling warm, and content, and right.

I can’t wait for more people to enjoy this book!

Adriana Locke never disappoints. The thing I loved about this book was that while it was her quality of writing it had a new and different feel and style. Not better, not worse, just different somehow. Her characters were well formed and deep, you could feel their internal struggles. The story was great and I can't wait for the rest of the serious. I'm so glad I stumbled on this author a while back because she is just wonderful.

Holden is helping Dottie out at the hay creek animal clinic . Holden hadn't been to honey creek since graduation. I liked the down home feel. I loved that Holden was a vet. Holden had lost a great potential job and his fiance. Sophie comes in to visit who use to be his best friend. Sophie inherited a bed and breakfast from her grandma . Sophie has a sister who helps out at the bed and breakfast despite having a full time job. I love the characters and I like the name Holden. Holden stays at the bed and breakfast and forms a marriage plan.

This is a friends to lovers romance done right. Fair notice- I’m a fan of Adriana Locke so I was excited to get this early copy from NetGalley. But this story follows childhood friends, Holden and Sophie, who both need the other for help and therefore decide to go through a “fake marriage”. But even before this, the banter, the laughs, the delightful relationship they have drew me in and I absolutely love the couple. I rooted for them, even knowing that rocky roads were ahead because Holden didn’t want to stay in this small town the story is set in. (The supporting cast making up this small town is great too). Plenty of laughs, swoons and heartwarming moments abound. I look forward to more books set in this charming small town!

Good book! If your looking for a book that is sweet , cute, with a story that flows easily this one's for you! There really isn't any big action or drama it's just a nice enjoyable read! It has a little steam to it, it wasn't my all time favorite but definitely worth reading! Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

This was the exact book I needed to read. It’s the type of book that’s just a smidge cliche, but that’s why you read it, for the familiarity and comfort that you know exactly what you're getting into and how it will end.

The story was fun and the characters were really enjoyable. There’s a charm to the authors writing where you feel the scenes through the words and you can easily visualize the pages and characters. The flow of the writing had a great way of pulling you into and making it really hard to put it down. It was an entertaining read with emotional scenes I wasn’t expecting. I am such a sucker for marriage of convenience, then you throw in childhood friends who have had feelings for eachother, man I was a goner.

I like that there was some depth to the characters, but it wasn’t so emotional that it took away from the lighthearted feel of the story. The family dynamics are fun! I love how close each of the siblings are and how they live nothing more than to rile each other. I enjoyed the small town feel where everyone is in your business but there’s a sense of connection between everyone.

This story was written really well and the characters are what give the story it’s heart. It was a light easy read with the perfect amount of romance. Thank you NetGalley and Montlake for this ARC

I lived this book!!! I must admit I do have a soft spot for friends to couple romances, but this one was a step above all others. It was nice that you saw how misunderstandings and things left unsaid affected their relationship but it had a lovely ending, and I'm hoping there will be a follow up book following Liv's story. All the characters were really likable and it felt as though you'd fall down the rabbit hole into a sweet middle America town where manners and concern for neighbours still exist. I'd describe this book as being set in a kinder version of Hart of Dixie. Just a warning though, this book does contain descriptive sex scenes so avoid if you're looking for a sweet, clean romance. I wouldn't buy this book because of the sex scenes as I felt it was unnecessary for them to be in there, they could've been alluded to without being described, but that's just my preference. If there was a next in the series and it didn't contain the descriptive sex scenes I'd definitely purchase as the storytelling was very good

Like You Love Me was such a great romance book. It switches POV Between Sophie and Holden two childhood friends who after years apart meet up again. With adorable characters and a cute story this book was a page-turner. I sure hope we have two more books to follow this because Sophie's siblings were such great characters I want to know about their story.

This was exactly what I needed right now, it was SO cute, fun and charming! I sped through this because I just couldn't put it down and I couldn't stop smiling!

This is a friends to lovers, PLUS second chance romance PLUS marriage of convenience and I was 100% here for it. Sophie and Holden were so cute, their chemistry was strong from the very beginning and I literally just could not get enough. The banter, the charm, the FLUFF, I loved it all. I will definitely be keeping my eye out to see if there's going to be more books in the Honey Creek setting!

"How is that?"
I grin. "Like you love me."
"I most certainly do." *

Synopsis:

Two childhood friends are playing house—and maybe playing for keeps—in USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke’s funny, sexy, and unpredictable marriage-of-convenience romance.

To save her Tennessee bed-and-breakfast, Sophie Bates needs a fast-cash miracle. Holden McKenzie, her childhood best friend, needs to prove to a prospective employer that he’s a committed man. Their fortunes on the line, Holden proposes…a solution.

He’ll take care of Sophie’s bills if she agrees to a temporary marriage of convenience. And why not? They’re comfortable together, they have fun, and they trust each other. It’s as simple as saying “I do.” But the off-the-cuff wedding has all of Honey Creek talking—and Sophie and Holden realizing that their perfect arrangement is working too well. If they’re not careful, this marriage could turn into a love story.

This is Sophie's and Holden's story. I love books about small town romance.
Sophie is an innkeeper in small town in Tennessee. She inherited the inn from her grandmother. She had her heart broken, so she doesn't want to date

Holden is back in small town Tennessee, to help his grandfather vet clinic. How can he just leave his life in Arizona in blink of an eye, and come and help...well he got fired and broke his engagement. So he has a lot of free time in his hands...
But to get his dream job he needs a wife. And the best and only choice is his childhood friend Sophie.

But when they get married, nothing is like they planned. :-)

This was a very cute read. I love that time line. We aren't taking about years, but weeks and days. I love that there is a hint about series. Liv's story and Jobe's story. Can't wait for these two. :-)

All in all lovely funny summer read ( just gave a summery vibe).

This is 3.5 stars read.
