Thank you for the opportunity as I’d never read a La Casey previously.
A sweet as sugar, love story, perfect for a lazy day read. By the pool chilled reading.
The writing is good, although very predictable I thought it was enjoyable and nice story. On whole a pretty good book.
I normally love this author’s books, but this one was just meh for me. I had a hard time liking and connecting with the characters and really struggled to finish.
Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this! Love this!
This book was different of what I expected, and definitely different from other books that I've read by this author... Well, except for the Irish guy and slangs... That wasn't new to me on her stories.
I haven't read lots of amnesia's books, so I was curious about this one.
It was interesting to see how it evolved, but it was much more closer to the drama side than anything else, including romance.
Yes, she wakes up from her coma after a car accident forgetting her past 5 years, including her husband.
She thinks she's 5 years younger and still dating and very much in love with her ex boyfriend... AKA: the hot firefighter who never forgot the one who got away.
Almost the whole book happens in the hospital, and although it may sound boring, it was really addicting to see the tangled mess been untangled one knot at time.
There wasn't much mystery around what happened to Noah or who was to blame for, so I guess it was just okay.
Predictable but still interesting.
I wanted to love this book so much. The plot and storyline sounded amazing! Once I started reading though, it was all too familiar of a plot to a book I had read before.
It wasn’t a bad story by any means, I was just disappointed in the outcome.
This is the story of Noah Ensley who wakes up one day in a hospital and has no idea how she got there. At this moment all she wants is to see the love of her life Elliot. What she doesn't realize due to the car accident that lands her in the hospital with her short term memory is gone and she is actually married to Anderson. However he is not someone she recognizes and his feelings are really hurt because all she wants is Elliott by her side. Talk about your life being turned upside down. Nothing makes sense to her and she questions of she really could have fallen for Anderson., and Elliott refuses to answer her question thing just seem to be crumbling at her very feet. However when her memories begin to return she feels like she has been wrong about everything by shutting out Anderon and holding on to Elliott. But the ex she loves and the husband she can remember hold the key to the past. When the truth is finally revealed which path will she choose.
I liked these characters and felt for all of them. But poor Anderson had the worst of it. My heart broke for him so many times. This book is her full of angst and I really struggled with it at times. I feel like I needed some passion and explosive moments to pull me through.
Forgetting You by L.A. Casey was another excellent read from this author. She is actually on my short list of authors I consistently go back to for a great read!
This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you
I have always been a fan of L.A Casey. Noah and Elliot story was well written and the author clearly did research amnesia.
It was an ok read for me.
Thanks to Netgallery for the book in exchange for my honest opinion...
I love L.A. Casey but not this book. IDK but I think the reason that they broke up was stupid. I feel that if you're with somebody for 7 years you want to dress in like that. Because you hear a conversation with a man you been with for seven years and you don't like what he says you're going to break up with that person??? it just doesn't make sense. also if it was true love I feel like Elliot would have tried to get her back. I also wanted more of their backstory more into what the relationship was like before they broke up I felt like if the author would have shown more than love story I would have rooted for them more. I also hate books where people die unnecessarily
I don't I feel like Bailey didn't need to die.
Amateurish writing for me. Melodramatic and I didn't like the MC romantic relationship, the time frame for many of The events especially at the end seemed a little bit odd. Overdramatic and nothing new to one oversaturated genre. The reason for the MC split very common behavior these type of heroes have in this genre too and the heroine always forgiving after almost no groveling.
So there was a lot I liked about this book. For starters, I liked that the author slowly built to a reveal of the memories. Yes, it was a little predictable where it was going, but compared to the many romances and women's fiction books that are just all exposition, all the time, it was a welcome change. I rather liked the idea of starting over, forgetting the painful parts of a relationship--it was an interesting twist on the amnesia trope. But there was also a lot not to like--the discussion of the heroine's weight gain went to a cringey place, for instance. It would have been fine just to have our heroine struggle with waking up in a body that is not in the shape she remembers being in (and that does happen in the book). But she frets about it to the hero, who then goes and discusses it with all his mates at the bar, and when one friend expresses admiration for her bigger curves, the hero punches his friend in the face. Just... why? This is the guy we're supposed to root for? And then there's the whole issue of cheating. Even though the husband is horrible, the heroine doesn't actually do anything to end their relationship before shacking up with her ex-boyfriend, which is just not right, amnesia or not. But I do think I would like to read more by this author.
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to review a digital ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.
I thought the storyline throughout this book was interesting, and the mystery laced through it kept me intrigued.
This is the first book I have read by this author, and I found their writing style wonderful.
The storyline flowed well, and there was certainly enough going on throughout to keep the reader engaged.
It is an easy to read, enjoyable book. Most certainly worth a read.
I am a fan of L.A. Casey. It has been a while since I have read one of her books. After reading the blurb for this book I have to have it. I can’t imagine waking up and having no memory.
Noah has been in an accident that caused her to lose the last five years of her life. All she remembers is her childhood sweet heart and friend Elliot. She doesn’t remember that years ago she broke up with him and married someone else. Elliot has to live with the fact that he messed up and the relationship ended, but is it really over between these two?
I really enjoyed this book.
This was my first L.A. Casey novel, and it was an enjoyable book, but I was hoping for a little more suspense based on the description of the book. The second-chance romance follows the story of Noan and Elliot after Noah wakes up in a hospital room with no memory of how she got there. With a brain injury that leaves her stuck five years in the past, she discovers that she is no longer with Elliot and that she is married to someone else.
Overall, I thought the plot was good, a little predictable at times, but not in a bad way. The characters of Noah and Elliot were likable and easy to relate to. I wish there was more of a backstory to Anderson so that you could root for him a little more. It seemed that there was all this build-up between the main characters, and then it just ended.
I wish there was a little more substance throughout, but overall, I’m glad that I got a chance to read this, and I look forward to seeing what else L.A. Casey writes.
Thank you to NetGalley, Amazon Publishing UK/Montlake and L.A. Casey for an advance reader copy.
Um livro agradável de ler, porem achei a personagem feminina um pouco chata e sonsa . O mocinho foi o que fez a história valer a pena
I received a copy of the book from Netgalley to review. Thank you for the opportunity.
A sweet as sugar love story, perfect for a lazy day read. The writing is good and the story nice although very predictable.
On the whole a good book.
Forgetting You is told from dual points of view from Noah and Elliott. They were friends and then a couple when they were younger. Now 5 years later Noah wakes up after a car crash and she has some memory loss thinking it is 5 years in the past. All she wants is to see Elliott. She is married to a guy named Anderson, but she doesn't remember anything about him.
As she is healing Elliott is there and hoping for a second chance. Anderson is there telling Noah how they met and their history. As Noah is recovering she still has feelings for Elliott and she learns why they broke up in the first place. She still wants to be with him, but needs to figure out what to do with Anderson.
While recovering she finds out things she forgot from the past 5 years. Things that could save her life. Will she end up with Elliott or with Anderson?
A well written but predictable story. The likable characters improve the somewhat tropey storyline. I did enjoy it, but its not one that I'm going to rave about to my friends.
Complementary copy given for honest review and opinion. The character building was good but slow at times. I felt there was a lag in the story at times but in all it was a really good romance. I would recommend this book.
