A beautifully illustrated non-fiction book about the North and South Poles and the animals that live there. There is quite a lot of text, making this appropriate for older elementary children, but younger children can still appreciate the images and with help can pick out facts that are interesting to them.
The poles are "covered" separately, with the information about each accessible from a different cover.
Thank you NetGalley for an advance electronic copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I purchased a copy for my library.
*received for free from netgalley for honest review* Interesting book, liked the details and facts, liked the art
A fun and interesting book, with a lot of information packed in it! The illustrations are lovely, and the flip book format will be fun for the kiddos (I remember I liked flip books, anyway). The text is easy to understand, and doesn't shy away from the unpleasant stuff, but isn't overwhelming with it. this is sure to interest nature loving readers.

This is a very detailed Flip book about the poles of our planet. It includes info bits on various animals, inhabitants, locations, and ways of life. The illustrations are excellent and the read entertaining. This would work for a classroom or just for a kid who likes being cold.
An adorable and informative guide to Earth’s magnetic poles and the flora, fauna and people who live there. Loved all the animal factoids and attention to how the changing climate is affecting the north and south poles. Highly recommend for older kids, especially those with a keen interest in nature.
For the curious of young minds, you and your child will learn more than you can imagine in this short vivid illustrated book the North and South Pole. Not only about the area, but the different animals and sea life that live there. The problems they face and how they have survived. It gives you an appreciation of the unknown. Would make a great gift.
A special thank you to Quatro Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
Amazing book to teach little ones about people, animals, and plants in the North and South Pole. This book would be great for in-classroom or at home reading. The story is accompanied by beautiful, colorful illustrations that will keep children's attention. The writing style is straight forward, and easy to digest. It would be easy to create classroom activities surrounds this book such as comparing the differences and similarities between the North and South Pole.
Vividly Illustrated Info About the Poles in Flipbook Format
This colorfully illustrated book uses a fun flipbook format. It is about both the North and South Pole regions. You learn about the North Pole by flipping through the pages immediately after the cover with that name; the other cover says South Pole, and you find out more about the South Pole by flipping through the book from that cover. The best part about the book is the gorgeous, colorful illustrations. Not only were the pictures visually stunning and inviting, but they actually gave a decent sense of what the animals and sea creatures around the poles look like. Each section provides information you would imagine a book like this would have: what each of the poles is; the animals, plants, or humans that inhabit the surface; what goes on beneath the ice or in the surrounding sea, and exploration of it, and more. If you have a child who is fascinated by either the North or South Pole (or both), she or he may be interested in this beautiful flipbook.
North Pole/South Pole Flip Book by Michael Bright was a gorgeously illustrated and highly informative book about the animals and people that live in the Arctic and Antarctic environments.
While the book covers a vast number of animals. I love how the illustrations and captions tied together food chains and demonstrated animal behaviour. The story covers the history, present, and outlook of both the northern and southernmost parts of our planet.
I really enjoyed this book. While I was expecting a children’s book with basic information and pretty illustrations, this book turned out to be highly informative and interesting for any age reader. I think it is a fun concept to put this story in a flipbook format. I already plan to buy a copy for myself as well as several family members with children.
I received an electronic advanced reader copy from Quarto Publishing Group- Words & Pictures through NetGalley. All opinions are 100% my own.
I requested and received an e-ARC of this book from Michael Bright and Words & Pictures through NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
This was a very informative book about the North and South poles; the wildlife that inhabits these areas, the destruction humans and climate change are causing, and the people that have explored these areas.
I think kids will enjoy learning these interesting facts about the North and South poles.
This is a fascinating book! It is a terrific book about the North Pole, with 13 chapters that are full of information. The book is beautifully illustrated. Recommended for teachers and students, for those who want to learn more, as well as those new to the subject.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is a children's nonfiction book. I am not sure what age group they are targeting. It is quite detailed. I do I d it informative and interesting. The graphics are good and colorful. Although some are unfinished. Overall a good education book about 2 misunderstood places. 3.5 stars
I got an advanced reader copy on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!
This is a really nice little guide to the two Poles, which gives a little bit of information about anything relevant to them! A really nice guide for the younger children interested in learning more about them and the illustrations for each spread was pretty nice! Can't wait to see what the end result looks like!
North Pole/South Pole is exactly that. It is a great educational book about the North and South Pole. It shows things from animals and the ice to even what humans are doing there. There are great and beautiful illustrations as well. I highly recommend this book!
This book is perfect for perusing the pages or devouring the whole as a guilty pleasure! From it's cover to it's comprehensive content bubbles, readers can explore any and all parts of both poles. The flip format is fun as well! A great purchase or read for fun and/or specific research information!
Received E ARC of this book ad honestly I didn't get the concept in this formate.Yes the illustrations are nice and plenty of information but still it was missing a mark for me.Some illustrations looked incomplete .Probably the hard copy of this book will be amazing.
This book is beautiful. Well written and very engaging. It’s a great book to introduce young children to geography and artic animals. I’ll be ordering a copy for the classroom.
This is a very accessible book with some beautiful illustrations. It looks at the regions separately and covers the environments, wildlife, exploitation and current risks and some good news stories. I enjoyed the style and the layout, the information on each page having enough detail to give young readers a really good overview of the polar regions and their ecosystems. I look forward to seeing the completed book (some illustrations in this ARC were incomplete).
Chock full of illustrations and facts about the poles. This book is a great educational resource for older readers as it does highlight some of the more gruesome parts of the circle of life in these areas.
This is a fun & educational book. The formatting of the information took me back to books I liked as a kid. I also really enjoyed getting the chance to see sketches of pages that didn't have the finishing touches yet.
