I've read the Mistletoe trilogy by Richard Paul Evans and have always had a soft spot for his works. They always feel like a giant hug and this one was no different. I can see myself re-reading this and all his works for many years to come.

I love the stories that Richard Paul Evans weaves. His books are emotional journeys through heartbreak, loss, relationships, healing, and self discovery. The beginning of this book was a slow start and I had trouble being invested in the story and the characters. But I finally got to the point where I was sucked in and couldn’t put it down. Traveling through the pages with Noel and experiencing her view of life and perceptions of the past was difficult. The people that became a part of her life or those that reappeared were the catalysts to opening her eyes and her heart. The raw emotion that envelopes Noel and allows her to reevaluate her misconceptions will have the tears streaming down your face. This is one for your to-be-read list. Just make sure you have a box of tissues on hand. You will need them!

A great read for the holiday season. I read this in one sitting because I was so captivated by the character of Noel.. You feel all the emotions: sadness, sorrow, joy, love .and forgiveness. Noel is an editor at a large publishing house. Estranged from her father, she gets a call to please return to Utah because he is dying. Unfortunately she doesn't make it back in time. She now has inherited his book store and his world of friends. She begin to receive anonymous letters which reveal truths and her family and life. When the truth comes out about her family she is exposed to new potentials for her life. A joyous read.. .

The Noel Letters by Richard Paul Evans was a wonderful surprise in the Christmas books “genre.” Many Christmas books are super happy, lack conflict, and are just sweetly warming. The Noel letters had a bit of everything: Christmas magic, mystery, family drama, second chances, redemption, and book references galore!

The drama and mystery surrounding Noel’s job and family dynamics was interesting, well thought out, well paced, and executed. While some of it was sad or bitter sweet the second chances and redemption that came throughout were that much more powerful. Having it set with the Christmas season as a backdrop really emphasized what a good part of the holiday season is all about.

I loved the dynamics between Noel and her childhood best friend/boyfriend. The way her father left things was quite remarkable. The dialogue between the characters was witty and refreshing. What made this Christmas story different is I felt it focused more on the family history and less on the romance.

Of course, as a lover of classic books, local bookshops, and authour signings I had a wonderful bookish time with all the references. I also learned there are different kinds of editors. I thought they were all about grammar corrections. I also loved the nod to the darker themed book shops. A few of which I have ordered from or been too.

I read this story in one straight sitting. All the quotes and short chapters kept this book fast paced. I cannot wait to read more Christmas stories by Evans in the future. In fact, I already bought one.

I received an eARC from Gallery Books through NetGalley. All opinions are 100% my own.

The Noel Letters is the first book I have read by Richard Paul Evans. It will not be the last. I am giving this one five stars.

I love Richard Paul Evans' books and this book was no exception. His books are always so easy to read with relatable characters. But I'm giving this one a 4-star rating instead of the usual 5-star. I thought the book was a little slower paced than his other books. I liked the mystery letters but the big reveal of who wrote them fell somewhat flat. Also, as a child, she seriously misunderstood something that had happened to her mother, and that was why she had father issues and why she cut him out of his life. However, I felt that the character was practically being punished for her issues without taking the time to really listen to her and understand why she didn't want anything to do with her daughter. I liked the build up to what had happened but I think it could have come out different than the way both Wendy and Grace had approached it. I did love the ending in regards to her dad, but I did feel that things got wrapped up too quickly and neatly.

Richard Paul Evans Christmas books are always an auto purchase for me. It has become one of my own traditions for the holidays. I have loved even books in the Noel Collection including this one. They tug at your heart and are a great quick holiday read. Can't recommend them enough.

As with all of Richard’s books, this one lifted my spirits, hit the spot during the holidays and didn’t disappoint. Touching, emotionally fulfilling and keeps you engrossed from tail to tip. I’m super visual, if you follow me on Instagram or read my Goodreads reviews in general you know that is a recurring theme. Once immersed within a book, I have a movie playing within my mind’s eye and when the story is well written and connects with that projector, then it’s a hit. I’m no longer reading black ink within pages. I’m IN a movie, in the story and that is what happened with this one. I could feel the setting, I was driving those streets with Noel.

Loved the characters. Loved this book and I’ll be reading it again, it was that good.

Thanks Gallery Books / Simon and Schuster.

Noel Book has lived the last 16 years believing her father was an awful, self serving man who didn't love her. She is at a crossroads in her life, having gone through several life changing events in short time. One such event takes her back home where she hadn't been in 16 years.

Over the course of a couple of months, she begins receiving anonymous letters, disseminating advice and helping her to begin look at her life and actions in a different light.

It is an emotional, touching holiday read. The book resonated with me and touched my heart. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone needing a good, heart wrenching read.

This is the fourth book in this series. I read this book out of order. You can read the books out of order because they are following different women named Noel.

This book is about a woman who goes back home because her father is dying. She is four hours to late. She has a lot of hate and angry towards for her father. When she gets there things happen and she goes into a spiral with her life. Things are happening that she has no control over.

This book is kind of like the Christmas Carol.

I cried at the end and I gave it four stars. I recommend that you read this book.

This book deeply explores the theme of forgiveness. After decades of estrangement from her father, Noel returns home after he reaches out to her requesting one last visit as he is dying from cancer. Unfortunately, she arrives home just after he passes away. Carrying many burdens and Faced with a lack of closure and unanswered questions, Noelle is embraced by members of the community as she has to decide if she will stay in Utah or return back to New York City. Learning the truth of some long held misconceptions changes everything for Noel.

Noel is preparing for a return to her childhood home, after leaving some 16 years earlier vowing never to return. From a reasonably idyllic childhood, everything changed with the death of her mother in a car accident, and she’s blamed her father for years. But now he’s dying and has asked her to return, and she’s reluctantly preparing for the changes. Of course, she was too late, but her father, ever the planner, has made all sorts of arrangements to explain her history, get her to find her own footing, and perhaps enjoy what he’s left behind in the form of a house and his beloved bookshop.

From reconnecting with an old boyfriend to finally having no choice but to face her own anger and memories and make decisions about staying or returning to New York to find yet another editorial position and home, she starts to receive anonymously penned letters, bits of advice and philosophy, all signed Tabula Rasa or “blank slate”. Believing these are penned by her former boyfriend now with his own losses, a young daughter, and two adoptive parents who loved him despite his issues, she’s finding that their connection is scary, and facing her fears head on isn’t quite something she’s used to.

I wasn’t a fan of Noel at the first: she was abrasive and stuck in victim mode, without any real growth from her teen years when all of her “traumas” happened. Still reeling from her divorce and now the loss of her job and now her father, she’d not made much effort to move forward. But with the letters, her relationship with her old friend, and a new intrigue brought by some rather puzzling but direct statements from a woman named Grace who was always ‘speaking up’ to her father’s character, Noel starts to sort through her past and examine her own actions as she learns the ‘whole story’ of her childhood. With some real growth and hope, a touch of magic and plenty of love displayed on the pages, the story reveals that change and new paths are available to those who do the work to move forward.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Absolutely loved The Noel Letters. His books have become a mainstay at Christmas time for me. Ah where to begin... if you are a book lover this will delight the bookworm in you. From the book titles mentioned throughout to the blurbs at the top of each chapter from famous authors and others. All book related in one form or another. The bookstore sounds charming as well. More importantly is Noel Book. The way she grows as she comes to learn the truths that have shadowed her life. Grace and Wendy play pivotal roles in the story. Sad at times but redemption comes in the end. #TheNoelLetters #NetGalley

This book came out at the end of October and I’m finally getting around to reading it. #readerproblems #thenoelletters #richardpaulevans #netgalley #netgalleyreads #netgalleyreview with all that’s going on in the world this is the perfect book not only to help get you in the #holidayspirit but to also give you your #faith again in people, forgiveness, and love. Noel is asked to come home. Her father is dying. She hasn’t spoken to him since their relationship fissured when her mother passed away. We always have our perception of life. What Noel doesn’t know is the truth to her skewed reality. It’s a charming book of coming home. Forgiving yourself. And others. #holidaybooks #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #readersofinstagram #readingtime📖 #booknerdlife

I really enjoyed The Noel Letters! It's a real teal-jerker though, so beware! This is a story of family secrets, grieving, forgiving, love, and Christmas! This is the first novel I have read by Richard Paul Evans and I look forward to reading more of his Christmas books in the future. It is so well written and it really makes you feel for the characters. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good Christmas story of forgiveness and finding oneself during the holiday season. The Noel Letters is just such an overall wonderful book!

Reading Richard Paul Evans' latest Christmas book has been a holiday tradition for me for many years now. This one touched especially close to home for me, though. My father passed away in September, and while we weren't estranged at the time of his death, we did have a difficult history. Now that he's gone, there are so many conversations I wish we had had and stories told by others that have shown me another side of him.

In "The Noel Letters," Noel rushes home to be at her estranged father's bedside, only to find out that she's too late once she gets there. Reeling in the wake of her recent divorce, sudden firing, and the loss of a father she comes to realize she never really knew, Noel is trying to find her way back home, despite not knowing exactly where that is.

I loved the characters created and how each one carried a piece of the puzzle to who Noel's father was. I will definitely be reading this one again!

I love returning to Richard Paul Evans: he has made it safe for us couch-sitting, football-watching, delivered-pizza eating men like me to enjoy the romantic, gentle, romance style novels without hiding the cover when the wifey walks in! I enjoy the moral underpinning to his stories and the way his flawed (dare one say “broken” heroes and heroines navigate the wrong turns their lives have taken so they can find solace and redemption moving forward. “The Noel Letters” finds our heroine (Noel) losing a parent, and a husband, and her job, early on in the story. And she must learn to overcome her issues with all those situations upon returning to her home state of Utah fro her big city lifestyle in New York City.
I love his Christmas-themed stories and hope their are many more in the future! Thanks to NetGalley for the great read in exchange for a review of the book.
