The Noel Letters (The Noel Collection #4) by Richard Paul Evans is a warm blanket of Christmas love. I have been a fan of Richard Paul Evans for years. I remember back when his book, The Christmas Box, was first published. Being an avid reader I had heard about the book and ran to the bookstore to purchase it. I have looked forward to every Christmas afterward waiting for the release of the new book by Richard Paul Evans. As the publisher so aptly described this is story of love, family and belonging. It is also following a trail of letters that leads to a Christmas revelation and most of all about the miracle of forgiveness.

Each chapter in this beautiful book starts off with a quote from a famous author. Each quote is meant to give the reader an opportunity at introspection and reflection. Many of the quotes put into words my feelings about my life-long love of books and reading.

Unfortunately, this was my first book in the Noel series. Not to worry. This is easily a stand alone book. (I will be heading out to obtain the other three.)

Early on we find our protagonist Noel reliving and ultimately questioning her memories of a painful childhood. Over the course of a few weeks she learns the truth about who her family really was. As Christmas gets closer she receives a revelation that changes not only how she sees her past, how she sees herself currently and how she views her future. The greatest gift of this book is the opportunity to feel forgiveness. The tears flowed freely so have the tissues ready. Richard Paul Evans has done it again, exquisitely. If it is possible he has out done himself and made his readers grateful for wondrous gift he shares with all of us.

This book would be a beautiful gift for someone or a gift you give yourself.
I would like to thank Richard Paul Evans, Gallery Books and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Richard Paul Evans' holiday books have been a tradition for me since I was little and The Christmas Box came out. The Noel Letters is a FANTASTIC addition to any holiday. I love the emotion, growth, and presentation of this book so much, I read it in a day and didn't want to put it down at all.

The Noel Letters is the forth book in the Noel series, but can be read as a standalone. I’ve always thought there should be a gene called “Happily Ever After” and books by Richard Paul Evans would fall into this category. His books remind me of my favorite Hallmark movie in the form of a book.

I wait every year for the holiday season and a new Christmas book released from Richard Paul Evans. He never disappoints!! In this book, he returns with a story of love, family and loss. Noel searches for answers through a trail of letters that will lead her to a Christmas confession of sorts that results in hope and forgiveness. What made the story even more appealing was it all took place with a bookstore backdrop and characters that were lovers of reading. Doesn’t get much better for a book lover!!

I also loved that Evans started each chapter with quotes from various authors. One of my favorites was “Take a book to bed with you ------ books do not snore”-----Thea Dorn

The Noel Letters will get you into the Christmas spirit along with making you laugh and cry. The Noel Letters has all the feels!

I recommend all the Noel books for your holiday reading. They are books that the whole family would enjoy listening to while sitting around the Christmas tree drinking hot cocoa.

Thank you to NetGalley, GalleryBooks, Richard Paul Evans for providing me an Advanced Reader Copy of The Noel Letters in exchange for my unbiased review.

If you love stories about books, bookstores, and Christmas-themed books, then this book is for you! I am on my 8th Christmas book the past couple months and The Noel Letters tops them all!

This is my second Richard Paul Evans book and it did not disappoint. I enjoyed that it wasn’t your typical Hallmark Christmas plot formula. I read The Christmas Box many years ago and loved it.

I enjoyed following Noel’s journey as she learns more about her father after her passing than she ever knew while he was alive. The ending was excellent!

Thank you to Gallery Books, Richard Paul Evans, and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a great read for any time of the year but especially during the holidays! This is a book about life circumstances and how those circumstances affect us and our choices - but sometimes things are different than how we see them! It is also about a father's love for his daughter, even from the grave. It is heartwarming and a perfect read for the uncertain times that we are in right now. I liked it from the very first pages and it only got better. I think it will be a great read for book club! I liked all the characters in this book and felt like I knew them from the author's descriptions and writing. Thank you #NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book. If you are a Hallmark movie person, you will certainly love this book because it would make a great movie! And, for us book lovers, Bobbooks is almost a character in this book which makes it so cozy to read, as I am pretty sure I could smell the book store reading about it.

What a charming story! Every Christmas I choose a seasonal book to enjoy. I've read Richard Paul Evans other books and they never disappoint. This is the story of a book editor in a large corporate setting who hasn't spoken to her father for many years. She learns that he is dying and his time is short so she returns to her hometown for a last visit hoping to make amends. What she learns when she gets there is that she has missed this opportunity and has inherited his book store. I loved this book and would highly recommend it for everyone on your Christmas list.

The Christmas season is always so full of special traditions and reading a Richard Paul Evans book has become one of my most treasured staples of the season.

Living in New York and working in the book publishing world, Noel Post has left her painful childhood behind her and has no plans to ever return to her childhood home in Utah. Then she receives a phone call from her dying father, asking her to come home one last time, but she doesn't arrive in time to say goodbye. Noel suffers further life changing news while she is in Utah, and decides to take some time to regroup and learn more about the bookstore she inherited from her father. She begins to receive anonymous letters offering advice and guidance for her future. Who is writing these letters and how are they so insightful?

The Noel Letters is a novel full of hope, which I think we could all use right now. If reading Richard Paul Evans is not one of your holiday traditions, now is the time to add this to your Christmas list.

I received this book courtesy of Gallery Books through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I think this is now among my favorite holiday set book from Richard Paul Evans. I had suspicions all along of who was the inspiration of the letters, and was correct, but there was a lot of mystery of how it was going to travel the path to the end and how they were actually getting to Noel. The quotes at the beginning of each chapter added to me liking this book as well, well tied in to the theme of the story and hit the mark personally as well. Several were jotted down to remember for later.

Beautifully written letters to a prodigal daughter. Noel returns to her hometown to visit her dying father but finds out that she has missed her chance to reconcile. This is a powerful story about how misconceptions and partial truths can ruin a person's life. Noel has spent her adult life allowing her misplaced anger control her. Will these mysterious letters help her sort out her feelings when she finds out the truth? Readers will love this heartfelt book. Recommended!

First time reading this author and it took me a minute to get into the story but oh so well worth the time. It is filled with lovely quotations from a variety of people in all walks of life and many references to books I am familiar with, AND has a story filled with heart. The cover gives a better description than I could write as a review so if you want the story-read the cover. The book is good for at least a couple Kleenex and plenty to reflect on. I loved this book and will seek this authors' other works in the future.
I was provided an advanced reader copy and was under no obligation to provide a review. The opinions expressed are my own. Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book.

The Noel Letters by Richard Paul Evans is 4th novel in The Noel Collection. Each book in this series can be read on its own. I have enjoyed Richard Paul Evans’ novels since I read The Christmas Box. I thought The Noel Letters to be well-written with developed characters and steady pacing. Noel Post is a woman who has let anger rule her life for too long. Painful childhood memories have influenced her life and her decisions since she was a teenager. After a sudden rash of losses, Noel has some downtime to reflect. She begins receiving handwritten letters that offer guidance, thoughts, quotes, and reflections. Noel can let these special missives help her or she can ignore them. There were several times when I found myself wanting to shake Noel and tell her to open her eyes (and her heart). There were some special characters in this story. Grace, Wendy, and Dylan each had something to offer Noel if only she would let them. I loved the descriptions of the bookstore. It sounded like a special place that would attract bibliophiles. I thought the store’s name, Bobbooks was disappointing and lackluster. It needed something magical and that was not Noel’s choice. I loved the quotes before each chapter about books and writing. There were other quotes interspersed throughout the book. There were some ones that I loved that I made sure to write down. The Noel letters is an emotional story that will tug on your heartstrings. The Noel Letters is a special holiday tale about misunderstandings, second chances, love, grief, books, and forgiveness.

I knew by the author that this would be a feel-good book and I wasn't wrong. Just what I needed!! The characters are believable, the setting well done, the story pleasant, and the writing flows smoothly. I was enjoying the book so much I read it in one sitting and didn't stop until I finished at 2:00 am. I'm tired today but it was worth it - this book was relaxing and made me feel happy. That's not an insignificant accomplishment in this day and age!!!

I received an ARC copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. Noel, who is an editor, is returning home to her father who is dying of cancer. She has not been home in 16 years and has come to say goodbye to him and hopefully close the distance between them. This book was just okay for me. Just one of those feel good holiday books.

I am a Richard Paul Evans fan. All his adult books tug at your heart as this one does. It's a beautiful story of a daughter that has spent her life being angry and how she works through it.

The Noel Letters by Richard Paul Evans is so m any things: a fabulous piece of women's fiction; a lovely Christmas story; a story of redemption; and a beautiful romance. Noel Post is coming home to see her father after years of estrangement. He had contacted her to tell her he was dying. She makes it to Utah four hours after he passed. The ensuing weeks are traumatic, revealing, healing, and full of love from so many sides. The plot is carefully written and paced beautifully. As always, it is the quintessential feel-good novel.

Noel learns much about herself, about her father, about her long-dead mother and about her father's friends. She was the only one who didn't think he was special. He life has never been easy, but hen neither was his. This difference was that he was comfortable. She was not. And it showed in every action she took: her discomfort. She hurt so she hurt others, at will. The story holds a lot of truths and lessons for each of us, even if our stories are different. I recommend it as #1 on you Christmas to read list.

I was invited to read a free ARC of The Noel Letters by Netgalley. All opinions and interpretations contained herein are solely my own. #netgalley #thenoelletters

I've had a long standing tradition of reading each Christmas book Richard Paul Evans puts out. I eagerly await its release so I can get (usually) get lost in a story I don't want to put down. Some books have been better than others, and some have left a more lasting impression, but I still look forward to this Christmas tradition every year.

This year's release, The Noel Letters, was no exception. The plot sounded right up my alley. And while I think it's a good book, it wasn't as good as I was hoping. Usually, Mr. Evans' books encompass more of the Christmas spirit in terms of the emotions they bring out. This one didn't do that. The Noel Letters was about the long term effects of harboring a grudge. You can see why Noel distanced herself from her father. You can easily see why she felt the way she did. You can relate to the confusion she encounters when she arrives home to everyone singing his praises. How was this man the same man at the root of her pain? There is a heaviness of the heart as you read the pages of this book. How was it able to get as bad as it did? How was the distance and misunderstandings able to last as long as they did?

The letters Noel begins receiving weren't as impactful as I thought they would be. Rather, they were random nuggets of advice that you later learn are connected. Not to say the words written weren't wise, but you didn't always see the connection between them and Noel. Finding out who was behind them and involved with them was more impactful. Once you have this background information on the letters, you see them in a different light.

The supporting characters were both fascinating and confusing. Grace, I loved and wanted to learn more about. I loved her character. You just knew there was more to her involvement than just a friend of Noel's Dad. Your heart breaks to learn of her story, then it overflows with amazement when you see what she does with the circumstances. You aren't surprised to learn they were close friends, but shocked to see how the friendship came to be. I have to say, she was my favorite of the characters. I could just sit with her all day and gleam life lessons and wisdom from her.

Wendy, the coworker with her father in his bookstore, was a character I couldn't make sense of. You knew they were connected as she worked side by side, for years, with him. She was his righthand man in the business operations, as well as some of his personal life. Both she and Grace were the ones to care for him all the years Noel wasn't there- especially during his illness and death. There was a mourning with a touch of bitterness you meet right away, but can't quite figure out. I have to say the revelation of Noel's Father and Wendy was a surprise I didn't see coming. It was one I couldn't really understand. You aren't there to watch it unfold, so it's hard to imagine.

Overall, I'm glad I read the book. It was a story that tackles a darker set of feelings and emotions that can exist during the holidays. Grudges can bring damage that takes years to heal, if you let them. This book is a reminder of there always being two sides to every story, but being willing to learn both sides is key. Forgiveness was the center point of the story. Forgiveness from both sides. I felt much of the emotions Noel felt within the pages. I understood them. I cried a few tears and points. It's a good read, but not one that I think I would read again.
