Love and Dogs! a great combination. Both main characters, Lily and Easton were likeable and Otis was a sweetheart, I think the story moved a long at a good pace, the was interesting character development, certainly good chemistry and a little redemption for everyone.
Wow, this is why I love author Kelly Jamieson. Her passion for her stories, characters & storyline comes through right from the beginning. Her detail is amazing & has you feeling like you’re right there, you can see what she’s describing. Her characters are always strong & determined as with Easton & Lilly. Their story is sweet, sexy & slowly introduces us to the pain though different for each in their personal lives. We meet down on her luck Lilly who loves animals especially dogs & cynical Easton who just wants to do one thing, stay out of trouble so he can continue playing professional hockey. Then we meet Otis, a sweet & funny dog that Easton rescues from certain death. What starts out as a client/employee relationship soon turns into a sexy romance that neither is prepared for but as we watch Easton & Lilly become closer it’s definitely apparent that they complete each other. Definitely recommend this book.
I have got to say Easton and Lilly’s story is my fave story of Kelly’s to date! Their chemistry and just their overall journey is one that I instantly felt a connection too!
Lilly and Easton both have pains of the past that they are figuring out and as they navigate their new normals a friendship starts to build and with the added attraction they feel one thing leads to another and their not just friends anymore! The problem though; Eastons demons are bigger than the love Lilly needs and until he can find a sense of peace their will be no future for them!
I loved how strong and ambitious Lilly is! She truly is an inspirational heroine and I think that’s one of the many things I loved about this book! She was strong and determined! Even Easton for being a bit of a jerk had a heart of pure gold!
I am in love with this new cast of characters and I hope it’s not the last of them we will see!
A quick fast paced book with loveable characters and dogs that steal the show.
The authors love for hockey and dogs shines through and I hope this will become a new series for her.
I feel like this could benefit from a different, less cliché title as it hit on some deeper topics and the title leads you to believe it's going to be nothing but fluff. There's a few spots where the dialogue is a bit cringey but overall it was worth reading.

This was a fantastic book! I read the whole thing in 1 day, I just couldnt put it down.
I loved Easton and Lilly. And Otis!!!! Oh my god, that poor dog was train wreck and I loved him for it!!
I want more!!!
Kelly Jamieson and hockey books go and in hand. In this new series, the New Your Bears, things seem to be starting off pretty great. I love the emotions and the hockey all in one place. The relationship between the main characters is just perfect, from professional to hot and steamy in the sheets, this was a one sitter for sure. I could not stop reading for sure. You will totally love this book!!
Kelly Jamieson’s newest hockey story is a bit if departure from her norm in that, while yes it is about Hockey, it’s a standalone...fingers crossed it’ll morph into a series...the ending wasn’t exactly a cliff hanger, but it could be seen as such! Yet, as with her other books and characters, there are the elements I’ve come to expect from her stories: Absolutely swoon worthy Hockey players with heart, depth of character, and personalities that carve out the breath of the story...Female characters who steal your heart with their steadfastness, integrity, fierceness, and their own depth of character.
Easton and Lilly brought so much dimension to the story, one moment I was immersed in their passion and intimacy, the next I was laughing so hard...mostly that was due to the antics of the players, but the tender moments the couple shared that included laughter was priceless in carrying the story to a level above strictly in search of a HEA.
The messages interwoven throughout the story were pertinent and lasting...giving voice to what is assailing us from all sides. Also the message of selflessness resonates and keeps the pages turning...anticipation for both Easton and Lully’s separate defensive positions against social injustices wasn’t written in an off putting/preachy manor, but in a thought provoking one, making the story that much more poignant.
I’ve always enjoyed Ms Jamieson’s stories, this one was the perfect escape at a moment I needed it to be the most. I look forward to what she has in store for her readers next.

Kelly Jamieson's hockey novels are some of my favorites out there. I was excited to learn that we have a whole new team to love now as well, the New York Bears! This is the first in the new Bears Hockey series and it was a great way to start!
Easton has recently been traded to the New York Bears, so while he's trying to settle in to a new city and deal with all of that, he's also learning his new teammates and how to navigate his coach, who is causing Easton all sorts of headaches. On his way back to his apartment one day, he ends up saving a dog and in the meantime the woman who was with the dog, abandons him and Easton is left to care for him. Needless to say, Easton's life doesn't exactly lend itself to easily caring for a dog, but he's drawn to the little guy that he calls Otis.
Lilly is trying to rebuild her life. She's recently been fired from her job, and while it wasn't her fault, she knows it's better to move on and try to start again. She's been through a lot in the last few years and she doesn't have the support of her family and friends that she wishes she did. She decides she'll try her hand at a dog walking business and hopes that this will start her on a new path.
When Easton and Lilly meet at the dog park, it isn't the greatest first meeting since Otis isn't the most well behaved of dogs and he isn't very nice to the dog Lilly is walking. After learning that Lilly walks dogs, Easton pleads with her to take Otis when he goes on his next road trip. She agrees and it turns into a a more regular thing. Not only that, but Easton and Lilly start to feel a pull toward one another. They've both had their share of loss and neither are looking for a relationship, but will their connection be too much to overlook?
I really enjoyed these two characters and I liked how they supported one another and were there for one another. They seemed to really understand the other person and while they were both scared, they decided the leap was worth it. They both found exactly what they needed in the other and in little Otis!
I'm looking forward to what's to come in this series if the end was any indication!

I love how the relationship between Easton and Lilly builds. I haven't owned a dog since I was a teen but this dog accompanies this story so well that while reading along I was contemplating getting one. There is so much more going on here though, the romantic feelings/emotions were on point. Lilly is so brave, focused on and determined to move on from the situation she finds herself in and she has such a big compassionate, optimistic heart. I love that in spite of their levels of baggage, love finds a way. I read this in one sitting so I definitely enjoyed it. I do have mixed feelings about Easton's super sensitive "off-the-ice" hockey team experiences, didn't really care for some of language and didn't like that the implications of the lead-into ending as presented which I think kind of made me second guess some of the progress.
Super cute read! I love the character depth, dogs, and hockey! The story line flows well and ties everything together.
Hot, sexy, and sweet - this book has it all! Lily stands up for the underdog - even when it comes with a high personal cost. Desperate for a job, she somehow slips into a dog walking business. Her first customer is Easton, who has a dog that's sort of his after a bizarre elevator incident.
While becoming friends, Lily and Easton slip into a non-relationship relationship. While their tale is sexy, it is also filled with depth and heart. Both Lily and Easton have backstories that make them compelling characters. I found myself invested in their story and wanting them to get their HEA ending. I especially loved the bits of witty humor woven into the story. My favorite line in the book is when Easton asks Lily how she takes her coffee and she answers "seriously, very seriously."
Put this one at the top of your TBR list - you'll be glad you did. The author is on my must read authors' list, and if you're a fan of the genre, should probably be on your list too.
