Having first come across Woodes Rogers in a fictional setting, I was interested to read more about this man - the bane of the scurvy lads and lasses of the Caribbean. Today's privateer is tomorrow's pirate hunter - and sometimes vice versa!
I hadn't dipped my toe in very deep into the vast sea of pirate tomes, so this was a rewarding read. I would heartily suggest this to anyone who has a fancy for piratical adventures to pick this up.
