I have a young dino-lover so DINO-THANKSGIVING was a hit with us! All the dinos gather together for a very human-like Thanksgiving: turkey, a parade, and football. And through it all, the Compy keeps swinging by and asking if dinner's ready yet.

I liked that this book showed vegetarian and non-vegetarian ways of celebrating Thanksgiving, but it also didn't just center around the food. It was about family and friends, spending time together, and they even had a bonfire afterward.

For little dinosaur fans, this is a great book to read!

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. A great rhyming book about dinosaurs and Thanksgiving. I really like that vocabulary words are highlighted in bigger font and color.

A very intense and fully packed with adventures around the Thanksgiving prepared by yours truly gang of dinosaurs. They are all over the place, busy preparing the family recipes for the holiday, or just happy to be back together and get some fun. From the toddlers to the grandparents, they are about to experience a huge family gathering and there is so much to do.
I really loved both the story and the illustrations. This book is an example of how one can creatively use a relatively easy topic to turn it into an attractive story for children.

My grandkids love this series. The dinosaurs are huge, bright and personified. We loved how they were doing all the things that families do on Thanksgiving. The story is written in a rhyming fashion and has a great cadence making it easy to read aloud. The illustrations are full of action and it takes us a long time to get through these books as they want to keep looking and laughing at the antics of the many dinosaurs. Now, some people may complain that predators are together with herbivores, but this is just a fun story for kids who love dinosaurs. We read this one a couple of times, once just to read, then again to look at the pictures. A winner in our family

Whilst my son doesn't understand the concept of the American holiday of Thanksgiving, by the end of the book he was able to appreciate the things he should be thankful for.

Nicely written and illustrated.

Recommend for all young children.

This is a cute story about Thanksgiving as celebrated by dinosaurs. The illustrations are really cute, but the text leaves something to be desired. It's told in a rhyming format and sometimes the wording is really awkward to try to make it work. Also all the dinosaurs have names that are (I think) plays on their actual names - like a Triceratops calls "Tricera." I don't know, it didn't really do it for me. Lots of talk about football, haha. The pictures are cute, but it got kind of long. It did give us an opportunity to talk about our favorite Thanksgiving foods, what it means to be "thankful," and what we're thankful for.

"My favorite part was the Dino-Easter's on it's way!"
What's your favorite thing to eat for Thanksgiving? "The chicken- yeah, the big chicken. The turkey. It's like, so you can grab the drumsticks and just start munchin'. Sometimes on gross food I just take a little tiny nibble."

"I like that they have a campfire."
What's your favorite thing to eat for Thanksgiving? "The cupcakes. The pumpkin pie!"

How adorable and perfect for the season. While we may not be able to have a giant Thanksgiving this year this gives the younger kids the ability to learn about the holiday in a fun and dinosaur way. Which is helpful to keeping them interested.

These books are so much fun! I love the characters and the different activities. I like that it included different types of thanksgivings. The art is great and the dinos are fun! I was a little bit bothered by the reference to the previous racist name of the Washington football team. I feel like if they wanted to reference a football team, they could have chosen a different team that doesn't have so much racist history. Other than that, I enjoyed this book!

I found Dino-Thanksgiving to be a thoroughly enjoyable book. When reading this fun little work do yourself a favor and really take in the illustrations. This is one of my favorite parts of early literacy, clever details contained within the pages; from the busy dinosaurs in the airport going about their various tasks, to the ingredients T. rex used to prepare his meal, there are so many whimsical observations. The rhymes are well done, I liked how the story follows the different types of dinosaurs and tells about the meals they will prepare/enjoy (some are vegetarian), and the holiday activities they will participate in. It's a story of family, friendship, and coming together to celebrate.

I love the Dino books! This one was super cute and the illustrations are very bright and eye-catching. I love the rhyming and how there's so much to see on every page. I also love how the dino's names are in red so that readers can know which dinosaur is which.

Lisa Wheeler’s fun take on Thanksgiving festivities, in Dino Thanksgiving, all while rhyming is a great way to celebrate Thanksgiving. Barry Gott’s illustrations give the reader a glimpse into other dinosaurs' Thanksgiving traditions.

It would be a great addition to any Thanksgiving tradition.

I love these books. The author and illustrator get at exactly how thanksgiving feels. Gathering family for a big meal, the company of others, and things to pass the day away like football and flying kits. The cadence is on points and the rhymes flow easily in this book that has a fan base and lots of titles in the series.

I picked up this book for my son who is 11 months old. He loves to read and carry around books and it looked like it might be a fun illustration book for him to look at and I was right. The illustrations done by Barry Gott are well done. They are fun, colorful, and eye catching. I really enjoyed the illustrations myself.

Lisa Wheeler wrote a splendid story on Thanksgiving. It is fun and super easy to read. Each page has about two sentences, so a short quick read. She made it so that each dinosaur characters name was done in a bright color while the rest of the text is in black.

Lisa and Barry have great attention to detail. Lisa wrote the book based off of what a real Thanksgiving day would look like. For example, you have the very busy and jammed pack airports, the parent dinosaur getting up at the crack of dawn to start the Thanksgiving feast, and the Thanksgiving parade to just name a few. Barry also paid attention to detail and my favorite one is in the airport, specifically the arrival and departure board. The cities listed are dinosaur themed and based off of real cities. For example a few of them that are listed are New Orinthleans (New Orleans) and Des Miocenes (Des Moines).

Rating: 5 out of 5 as it was a super easy, short, and fun read. I loved the attention to detail and the illustrations. It is such a colorful book.
