The title alone was enough to grab my attention. The story begins with when Nikki, an FBI agent, is called to the scene of a grisly murder. The story is fast paced enough to keep the readers attention and offers surprises and twists. Well written and plot driven, entertaining and intriguing. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to review this book.

The Girls in the Snow Is a fabulous first in the Nikki Hunt series for author Stacy Green .
From the riveting and gripping opening chapter to the nail biting and unexpected twist at the end when all the plot strands finally weave perfectly together.

For FBI Special Agent Nikki Hunt returning to Stillwater, Minnesota after 20 years away is daunting in itself especially as it's where her own parents were murdered but when the frozen bodies of two missing teenage girls are discovered there the local police think its the serial killer Nikki and her team are searching for so she is asked to help them.

I'm so pleased this is the first in a series and can't wait for book two.
Loved the intriguing and complex character of Nikki Hunt and also her fabulous team of Agent Liam Wilson and crime scene analyst Courtney Hart too.

Definitely comes as highly recommended, 5 star read from me.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an ARC for my honest review.

A stomping good crime fiction thriller from Stacy Green! I absolutely loved this book and was utterly hooked from the first chapter.

As the first in the series, Green has not only created a believable, likeable (and pretty cool) main character she has woven a intricate tale that is full of suspense and thrills.

We meet Nikki as she is called to an investigation in her hometown that is believed to be linked to her hunt for the ‘Frost’ killer. Coincidentally, on her return to Stillwater, her parent’s murderer is presenting new evidence to get himself an early release. The book has been so cleverly written that you could believe it was the 3rd or 4th in a series as the characters appear so well established.

I chose this book purely on its cover description, having never read a Stacy Green book before. I’ve since downloaded a few more from her collection and will be eagerly awaiting the next in this series.

Thank you to NetGalley for my advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of The Girls in the Snow!

I really enjoyed this book. It was fast-paced and had just the right amount of suspense to keep my interest. Nikki is an FBI agent who is called to the brutal murder scene of two teenage girls in her hometown of Stillwater. The sheriff there believes the murders are the work of the serial killer Frost, known for killing and then freezing his victims. However, Nikki isn’t so sure... Not only does Nikki have to try and find the murderer but she has to deal with the upcoming retrial of and protests on behalf of Mark Todd, who was convicted 20 years ago of killing Nikki’s parents. Supposedly new evidence has come to light pointing to Todd’s innocence but Nikki was there that night. She saw Todd with her own two eyes, didn’t she?? It was everything not as it seemed? Was there a cover up back then, someone looking to frame Todd? Is Nikki remembering things differently now? And are her parents murders related to the murders of the two teenage girls?? All questions Nikki will answer by the end of the book, with a few twists and turns!

This is a new series for me by a new author. Set in the town of Stillwater, Minnesota, the bodies of two teenage girls are found frozen in the snow. With similarities to a serial killer case, Special Agent Nikki Hunt is sent to investigate. It’s the first time she has been back to her home town since her parents were murdered at their home 20 years ago. With calls for her parents’ killer’s case to be looked at again, and discovering the father of one of the teenage girls was the person she trusted most in the world, Nikki tries to control her emotions and deal with the memories which are threatening to overwhelm her.

I really got hooked into this book from the very first chapter. Travelling back 20 years to when a teenage Nikki discovers her parents are dead is a sure-fire way of making sure you are going to finish this book!! 20 years later and we meet a much more mature Nikki, she’s a mum and a Special Agent working for the FBI, but you can see how difficult it is for her to go back to the town that she grew up in. I have to admit I loved Nikki’s character! You instantly have some empathy for her for what she went through as a teenager, but that also turns to admiration for how she managed to turn her life around. She comes across as a gritty, tough and determined FBI agent, but as the book continues you get to see that some of that maybe is just a front!

The story takes you straight into the action right from the beginning. There are a couple of storylines running alongside each other – the case of the girls found frozen in the snow and the investigation into whether the right person was convicted of murdering Nikki’s parents. Of course, you know at some point the two stories are going to come crashing together, but the author has done a great job of building up the suspense and tension, holding back the plotlines and keeping you wondering who the killer is in both cases! It is a fast-moving storyline which twists and turns as it moves through the book! The plot is cleverly done and definitely keeps you on your toes! I can’t wait to see how this author moves on with this character in, hopefully, another book to follow this one! Would definitely recommend!

First book in the series and the author has deftly blended the main character's background into the investigation. The writing is fast paced and has good suspense. The detective is said to be a behaviour analyst but that part of her profession is not touched upon. The characters, writing and the plot twists are good. At places the story just goes around in circles. A recommended book. Will be following this series.

This is the first book in “The Nikki Hunt series”

Two 15 year old girls go missing while out for a walk. Their bodies turn up frozen in the snow months later bringing Special Agent Nikki Hunt (think tv show Criminal Minds profiler) back to her home town for the first time in 20 years.

This book is a 2 for 1 mystery thriller with Nikki Hunt working to catch the young girl’s killer but also trying to avoid why she hasn’t been back home in such a long time; she found her parents murdered in their home as a teenager and now their killer has just been granted an appeal in his case. Nikki caught her parents’ killer at the crime scene, what evidence could he possibly have to prove his innocence? Nikki Hunt’s personal and private life clash in this addictive thriller.

This is the first book in a long time that I’ve given up all household responsibilities, all tv time for and all my study time for. I was a couch potato and knew nothing was going to get done outside of my day job until I finished this book, which I did in 24 hours.

With two plot lines playing out within the book it’s fast paced and jam packed from start to finish with mystery. I loved Stacy Green’s writing style and flow. This book draws inspiration from a real life case that the author followed in the media in Iowa in 2012, where two young girls an 8 year old and a 10 year old went missing while out riding their bikes. Their remains were discovered months later but sadly this case is still unsolved.

I will definitely be reading more of this series as they come out.

First book by this author and it did not disappoint. It was like a huge puzzle and you had to find all the pieces and I was dying to know how it played out. Can’t wait for more

FBI Nikki and her ERT team are called into help when two teenage girls are found frozen on a lake in Stillwater, Minnesota. The Sheriff has a theory that this crime might be connected to the case Nikki and her team are investigating but Nikki dismiss this when evidence suggest someone else.

As Nikki and her team decide to investigate the two girls murder she dealing with being back in her hometown where her parents were murder and is shock to learn that the person who did it might not have done it at all.

I like Nikki like how she done well for herself and how she stills dealing with losing her parents. I look forward to reading more about her.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

This was like a giant puzzle that when you laid the pieces out you had no idea how this was going to fit together. Two current murders of young girls, the potential they were from a long sought after serial killer, the 20 year old murder of a husband and wife and the man that had been convicted of their murder now looked to be innocent and a small town that seemed to be hiding tons of secrets.

FBI agent Nikki Hunt and her ERT team are sent to Stillwater, Minnesota with the discovery of two girls frozen on a lake. Stillwater was Nikki's hometown and where her parents were brutally murdered and a place she has avoided since. Once they determine the girls were not killed by the serial killer they had been hunting they decide to stay to solve the girls murders not knowing what a Pandora's box they would be opening and how it all tracked back to Nikki's parents murder.

This was such an addicting read even when it was going in so many different directions with the investigation you just couldn't stop reading it and was dying to know how it was all going to intersect. Strong start to a series and looking forward to more.

Excellent read. FBI agent Nikki Hart is an interesting protagonist and her return to her hometown to search for the killer of two teenagers coincides with her own past. As a teenager herself, she helped convict Mark Todd, the boy she though had murdered her parents. but now his conviction is being called into question and Nikki struggles to remember exactly what happened that fateful and why anyone is questioning what she remembers. Great story, good writing, interesting characters. I will definitely read the next installment in the series.

A dagger sharp crime thriller. Highly recommended.
I was interested in reading this book since I've read its synopsis and then on the release of its cover. I don't want to reveal much about this story because it's so intriguing that one can enjoy it by oneself once he or she starts reading it. So here's a little about the story.
Opening scene of the story introduces us to Nikki Hunt, FBI and without further a do the writer ensured us that this would giving to be a crime thriller.
Two fifteen years old girls' bodies were found in Stillwater, Minnesota. No identify, nothing to proceed. But Nikki is sure that the killer is a local who knows that area well. He or she would have thought that these bodies would never be found. But now they're found and Nikki has to investigate.
Nikki has to catch the killer before he or she will strike again. Afterall Nikki has caught many killers in her life, didn't she?
I loved Nikki Hunt, John, Annemarie. Although it was Nikki's show. She will be going to become a most loved detective in near future.
Narration of the story is simple but engaging. I never figured out what's going to happen next until I read it myself.
Waiting for 19th Oct so that I can share it with my fellow Authors Bloggers Followers Friends and Family and post a public review.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy.
