I really enjoyed this manga and knowing more about Anne of Green Gables (I've never read it and was always wondering why people loved it so much). The story is really nice following the life of Anne and how she slowly grew up into a "good girl" and how she matured. It was well done and I also loved Matthew and Marilla, they were so sweet - and all of Anne's friends as well. There weren't much happening but we just followed her growing up and it was a nice lighthearted read.

I loved the illustrations and how Anne and even Diana were done - they were so pretty! Everything was also very well illustrated and I enjoyed all the tiny details with the arrows pointing out at something or directing a glance or a way the head tilted !

What a fun read! As someone who struggles with reading manga, I was a bit afraid to give this a try however I was pleasantly surprised to find that it's extremely easy to read! I've never even read the original book however the story was extremely easy to follow and the illustrations just wonderful.

I received an eARC on this manga in exchange for an honest review.

This manga adaptation was absolutely delightful! Being from Canada, I always love seeing Anne of Green Gables adaptions and this manga was absolutely everything I wanted. I felt the pacing was perfect for an episodic style manga and it was very well thought out and drawn.

The character designs are wonderful. Anne’s distinctive style is exactly what I’d expect for her. I also appreciated that the supporting characters were all original designs and did not seem to be based off the movies or TV show. Everyone was distinctive and recognizable and it was a delight to see the characters age and progress as the story unfolded.

I appreciated that this manga didn’t go too far I to the traditional manga emotion tropes of giant sweat drops or huge anger veins. There were some funny expressions and the characters emotions were always very clear without getting too cartoon-y or comic-y.

I would definitely recommend this manga to everyone who loves the classic Anne of Green Gables or to anyone who is interested in reading a manga adaptation of a classic novel!

Thanks again to NetGalley and Manga Classics Inc. for sharing this eARC with me!

I’ve been wanting to read the Anne of Green Gables series for a while now, but I was intimidated by the many books so I decided to check out this manga first. Since this was also my first manga, I’m very happy they included a “how to read manga” in the beginning because I definitely would have done it the wrong way. I really enjoyed it and the illustrations were beautiful. I can’t wait to read more manga classics.

This is a very enjoyable manga graphic novel . I haven't read this classical book yet and thoroughly enjoyed this novel. I always find it so much fun to read the graphic novel before the book. As you will then get to picture this book as you read the actual book. This book would be perfect for younger children to introduce them into reading the classic it's perfect for 9 years to adult. It's also brilliant for all those manga fans out there. I'm fairly new to reading manga books as it takes a bit of use to reading from right to left, but this book was so nice to read. I loved the details in the pictures. It really brought the book to life and created a wonderful sense of atmosphere. All-round creating a fabulous reading experience. I followed the story with ease and really connected well with the characters. I can't recommend this book enough to children and adults alike. I'm now looking forward to reading more manga classic.

So much praise goes out to the author and publishers for creating such brilliant graphic novel of the classics. That will bring so much fun and easy learning of classic literature to all.

I love the story of Anne of Green Gables. It seems like it should be boring, given how mundane it all is, but there's something about Anne that just makes you love her and the story. I thought having an illustrated manga version of the story is very interesting, and a great way to visualize the story. I thought the way you can see Anne age throughout the manga is super interesting, so subtle that you don't really notice it, like aging in real life. I also thought this was a great way to re-read the book, fast and in a slightly different format.

Anne of Green Gables needs to always be adapted and readapted because it is just THAT GOOD. This manga was extra cute and very close to the source material. If I could live in just one story forever, this would be the one. The drawings here only reinforced this opinion of mine.

Arc received from net galley in exchange for an honest review.

Look, I absolutely adored Anne of Green Gables, so I was excited for this. I think it's incredible how well they condensed the story in this manga. The art is super expressive and makes Anne even more adorable. The pacing is a lot higher because there's lack of words, but it worked.
It made me want to re-read the actual novel again.
The characters of Green Gables are well defined, while the other characters feel a bit more shallow (which again is because of the wordcount).
This is a great book for younger readers getting into their first classic books, as well as for students learning English, because having the pictures would be super helpful for them. I feel like I could totally use them at my schools.

I’ve been a fan of Anne of Green Gables since I was a young child. I’ve read the original books and watched the movies. I was very excited to see there was a Manga Classics version.

This version was absolutely delightful! It follows very closely to the Megan Follows Anne of Green Gables movie and to the original books. The art is fantastic. It really captures the energy and spirit of Anne. The dialogue, again, feels very close to the movies.

Anne Shirley, for those unfamiliar with the story, is an orphan who is sent to live with an elderly brother and sister, however, it wasn’t a girl they requested but a little boy. Anne, through her unusual natural, is able to charm them. Anne has a brilliant imagination and a unique way of seeing the world. She truly marches to the best of her own drum. She is fierce, and determined and changes the lives if everyone she meets. This book is full of love, humor, and inspiration. Anne is a feel good read.

I felt like I was on Prince Edward Island with Anne the entire time I was reading it, I think this is a fabulous erosion and hold true to the story of Anne. I’d recommend this book to all people who love Anne and who love Manga.

I’d like to thank NetGalley and Manga Classics for this eBook in exchange for an honest review.

Oh. My. Goodness 😭 Manga Classics does it again, managing to take all the charm and heart of Anne of Green of Gables and turned it into an utterly enchanting manga

I'm absolutely in love with the style of the art. The pacing was great and it captured so many wonderful little moments and hit me right in the feels. I cried so many times, both happy and sad tears, it really went all in, no holds barred when it came to the emotions

10/10, I highly recommend this adaptation, it's beautiful 💕

This manga of Anne of Green Gables tells the story of Anne Shirley, an orphan girl that is adopted by the Cuthbert siblings, Marilla and Matthew. Anne is an efferverscent, vivacious redhead girl with a strong, dynamic imagination. I do find this character one of the most human characters I've ever read.

This book has beautiful and sophisticated illustrations that capture the very essence of all the characters and their own stories: Anne, Marilla, Matthew, Gilbert, Diana,... Both heart and feelings, emotions, are captured so well in this book.

In this book, we get to know Anne Shirley, also called Anne of Green Gables. We get to know her story, her feelings and emotions, her fears and dreams, her aspirations and how she came to Avonlea, how she was treated before, how her life was before. At first, the Cuthberts don't want her because she is a girl, and they wanted a boy. But they quickly like and love Anne and accept her in their house. She has a never-ending imagination. She is a fiery, determined girl that fights for the people she loves, for the ones that need help, and for the ambitions that lie in her heart and soul.

I do highly recommend you this book! It is a must-read book about freedom, love, family, friendship,...

I like how the book gives instructions on how to read it (from right to left). Some of the words were difficult to see, as the print in some places was not very clear. I liked the story. I have never read this classic before, I felt that it was presented well as a graphic novel. I do have some students that are eager to read this.

I really like this story, I have read before the book and I did enjoy a lot the manga version, the drawings are quite cute, I wish in other hand that the manga could be a lot bigger with all those little details of the book.

A great way to introduce this book to people that haven’t read it, I highly recommend it to all ages.

I got an ARC of this book for free through NetGalley and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Manga Classics: Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery, Crystal S. Chan, and Kuma Chan is a stunning new manga adaptation of a classic work of literature. This book is literally tailor-made for classroom use. The classic work of literature is here in a trimmed-down form that will hold the student's interest while maintaining the integrity of the plot. Meanwhile, the cool and stylish manga-style artwork is sure to attract the attention of reluctant readers.

As a teacher myself, I am definitely happy to see this book and this series in general. I often have to teach classic works of literature to students who are reading below grade level, who are still learning English, or who have no interest in reading books without pictures. These books are a life-saver for teachers like me. If you're intrigued by the description, or if you're a fan of manga, I highly recommend that you check out this book, which is available now!

Such a well loved classics. I've seen the cartoons, but have yet to read the original though I own it. This was such an airy take on the classic. From artwork to colors and storyline -- I was gripped from start to finish.
