A good ending to the series! It might’ve been five stars for me if it hadn’t been so long since I read the first two and I didn’t have to spend the first 50 or so pages trying to remember who everyone was and what the heck was going on.
This book was just sadly not for me! I was hoping for something different but it turned out to be something I was not expecting, which is okay and I'm sure someone else would love it!
I loved the story, the world building and meeting the different characters. I felt completely immersed in the story and couldn't stop reading it.
I’m mad And I will need a ridiculous amount of time to heal from this.
It really should be illegal to write a concluding book that is this amazing, just a thought.
I’m at a loss for words, excuse me while I go reread the series again
Book 3 of Seafire and the conclusion! For this series this was such a good end, I had an up and down interest for this series so i’m glad the conclusion was up for me!
This was such an amazing conclusion to this trilogy I love! Caledonia and her crew are so badass while also being so full of heart! I want to be a part of this crew so much!
This action-packed conclusion to the Seafire trilogy pulls out all the stops, from edge-of-your-seat battles to high-stakes emotional development, dashes of romance, and characters you can’t help but love. The four-hundred-odd pages we get to spend on the Bullet Seas with Caledonia Styx don’t feel like nearly enough but provide a highly satisfying conclusion. With a powerful theme of justice vs. mercy, a focus on found family, some of fiction’s fiercest female pirates and friendships, this YA fantasy will appeal not only to those who love a seafaring adventure.
A thrilling conclusion to this girl powered action adventure on the high seas. With thrilling ups and downs you will hold your breath until the very end. Will Caledonia and her crew be able to defeat Lear once and for all or are they destined to live in a world of silt and bullets? Overall a great conclusion to the trilogy.
Thank you SO MUCH to the publisher for allowing me early access to this title. I was gifted this title via audio and somehow never downloaded it from here. Let me tell you, this is an explosive ending to a trilogy. If you have not read the first two, you cannot read this one or you will be completely lost. I highly recommend checking out the first two so you are immersed in this world. I don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil, but I will say that this book about friendship, sisterhood, LGBT rep, and pirates just hits all the right spots. I enjoyed Caledonia's character development in this final installment. She comes into her own as a captain and a strong person to battle with. I really am going to miss the world. I am so sad that it's over!
So I'm just going to gush a bit about this series as I ponder reasons why I haven't heard about this series more. I absolutely loved the Seafire trilogy and was definitely crushing hard on Caledonia and her group of bada$$ females. Now I know some are not quite into pirate stories (myself included), but please do not let that deter you. I'm not a huge fan of pirates, but I LOVED this series. I actually loved it so much that I read the last two books in one day!
What I loved:
1. I love when women are cast as the saviors and not portrayed as weak beings in need of being rescued. Caledonia and her crew were dealt a rough hand, but made it work and prevailed regardless of their set backs.
2. This book had very little romance, but was very action packed. If you follow my page at all you know I enjoy a good romance, but I loved all the action in this series as well as the amazing sci-fi/fantasy world it all took place in. The character were all amazing and well developed. I must forewarn you though, do not get to close to your favorite characters because these courageous women were not afraid to die.
3. This series was so well written and wrapped up so well that I had to include it as one of my favorites. I was actually a bit worried how things were going to end, but I shouldn't have because the ending was everything I hoped for.
If you're looking for a great fantasy series with amazing characters and kicka$$ women, look no further than the Seafire trilogy. I highly recommend it!
Seafire: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This series is one I will reread because it was EPIC. This final book was perfection. I was sad to start it because I didn't want it to end, but I had to know what happened. I was not disappointed and it made me want to be a pirate even more.
Stormbreak was a fast-paced adventure on the high seas and was a fitting ending to the SEAFIRE trilogy. Caledonia Styx has watched Aric Athair die, but it is not by her own hand, but by the hand of the boy who betrayed her all those years ago: Lir. Now in control of Athair's army, Lir is resolved to end his fight with Caledonia as she becomes a symbol of hope and revolution for the rebellion she has inspired. But Caledonia soon realizes that, if she isn't careful, the choices she has to make will turn her into the monster she has spent so long fighting. After a devastating attack sends Caledonia and her fleet fleeing Cloudbreak, Caledonia is determined to do what needs to be done and shield the people she loves from those choices. An alliance with an enemy may be the gamble it takes to finally secure victory over Lir, or it could be the one thing that costs her victory.
I have adored this series since I first read SEAFIRE over 3 years ago. Like with the previous two books, I couldn't get enough of Caledonia and her crew fighting an uphill battle for the betterment of their world. You can't help but love Caledonia, a character with so much heart, grit and determination, who hopes recklessly and loves her people carefully. She's a multifaceted character who has grown from a captain determined to take revenge to a true revolutionary. She wrestles with the choices she makes and that makes her so compelling. I love the cat and mouse dynamic between her and Lir and found the ending of their conflict to be compelling. Caledonia's relationship with Donnally is also one of complexity that was really satisfying to read about. Of course, what else can be said about how strong the female friendships are in this book? Caledonia and her crew support and stand by each other above all else, and in these relationships are the true feminist power of these book as women kick butt and support each other. And ORAN. This book made me love him so much more. Stormbreak is a story about the delicate balance between justice and mercy, leadership and tyranny, and about how bonds can be tested in battle. I'm thrilled to have finished this series and to see what Natalie C. Parker does next.
Natalie C. Parker has done incredible work with her pirate and nautical trilogy and I am always excited to meet a series to a close. I enjoyed returning to the world of the Bullet Seas, but I think my rating of this one might be a little shy of 4 stars. It's not that it wasn't on par with the other books--I think my timing may have been off on reading it, or something. For some reason, though, I just didn't feel as connected to the characters, like I couldn't quite get them off of the page. I don't know what it was. It was still well written, and there are some absolutely beautiful passages.
Some of the most heart-wrenching scenes were between Caledonia and Donnelly, which is understandable. I just wanted to knock Donnelly over the head sometimes because he couldn't get past the whole "Lir's my brother" to the truth that Lir is the reason his family was dead. I still wish the author had given Oran less of a back-seat ride to the story. He plays a definite part, don't get me wrong. But I feel like he's just so . . . quiet and timid . . . compared to how I feel like he should be. He's almost relegated to being Caledonia's puppy dog at times. At others, his love, good nature, and understanding really shine through.
The plot itself was good, and the story ended in a way that completely makes sense.
While I thoroughly appreciated where Parker decided to take this series, I felt that I just kept comparing it to Daughter of the Pirate King the entire time, which prevented me from truly appreciating the beauty of this series. While I loved the crew and all of the side characters, I just had a really hard time getting behind Caledonia. I think this is an instance of it's me and not the book, and I very much still recommend this series for those looking for a pirate story featuring some fierce ass females and normalized queerness.
This entire series was a whirlwind, and I'm so thankful for the approval!
I loved the writing, the atmosphere, *chefs kiss* Natalie C Parker is amazing.
Aric is dead. Lir has taken over command of the Bullet Fleet. Caledonia is still fighting for a better future, using Cloudbreak as her base of operations. Then a surprise attack leaves everything Caledonia and her friends and crew scattered and shattered. Forced to make an alliance that may well end her just as soon as it might end the war, Caledonia puts everything on the line to end the Bullet Fleet.
This was a roller coaster of an ending to this trilogy. I loved every word. The twists and turns and battles and fights were just as true in this book as they were in the previous two books. So many of the twists surprised me. It was very true to Caledonia’s character to have her thinking outside the box and coming up with clever ways of solving the problem in front of them.
This was an explosive send off to the Seafire trilogy. I loved every minute of it and recommend it to anyone who loves adventure of any kind or just straight up good storytelling. 5/5 for Stormbreak.
“‘Why?’ ‘Because mercy is what is left when glory fails us.’”

Stormbreak was an amazing, fast-paced conclusion to this series! “The dark night was powerless against the constant burning of that hair, and he thought touching it must feel like caressing the sun.” The prologue from Lir’s point of view is something I didn’t know I needed until now - his perspective offers further insight to his character and ambitions.
“‘We fight together.’ ‘Or not at all.’” Caledonia’s character development is what I enjoyed most about Stormbreak. In this book, we see her struggle with the morality of her decisions. Caledonia is forced to take innocent lives, as well as put her crew in harm’s way. Throughout the series, Caledonia’s character slowly progresses from cautious captain to bold fighter. The thing that remains consistent is Caledonia’s close bonds with her crew. (“Our first family shall not be our last.” “The thing about family is sometimes you don’t have to ask us to do stupid things, and sometimes you don’t get to tell us we can’t.” -Seafire.) Now, Caledonia wonders how she can protect her crew and struggles with the idea that taking innocent lives makes her no better than Lir. “They looked at her with turns of trust and frustrations and the kind of love so strong it split her heart in two.”
“It was so much more than the urgent song of war that vibrated in the air on the dawn of the battle, this was the steady pulse of ocean current, the constant coiling and uncoiling of the wind; this was the cut of a blade, the sting of sweat, the grinding pain of a throat screamed raw. It was a song of survival.” I’m going to miss these characters and writing style, but this book wrapped up the series very nicely.

Well, this series has come to an end and it has been a whirlwind of a journey. It has been a joy getting to watch these characters learn and evolve. The initial mission was accomplished which leaves, you, the reader, with a sense of pride and finality. I was nervous, because I feel like oftentimes the ending of a book will leave me wanting more, however I truly believe the ending of 'Stormbreak' was conclusive and did everything it needed to.
This series started out slow for me, but I'm ultimately glad i stuck it out until the end. If you enjoyed 'Seafire' and 'Steeltide' then I truly believe you will be excited to see how everything concludes. If you love strong lady-pirates, the high seas and high stakes and characters that feel real and concrete I would highly suggest giving this series a go! Some books just remind you how fun it is to read and this is one of them.
This series is so incredible - a mix of steam punk, kick ass woman, and pirates, what’s not to love? This conclusion was the perfect way to end Caledonia’s story, and while I’m sad it’s over, it couldn’t have ended better!
