The Fate of Us by Tori Fox is an EPIC read that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
This book jumps straight back into Anna and Noah's intense love story.
The Ghost of Us left us with a huge cliff-hanger that had me eagerly awaiting this next instalment in the series to discover what happens next.
This story is written brilliantly and really hooks you. Both Anna and Noah have insecurities and secrets from the past that need to be overcome, but the chemistry between them is undeniable.
I loved the way the characters were given so much depth to their personalities, making it easy to connect with them and engage with their feelings throughout.
A well written book that was entertaining and captivating from the start.
I received a copy of the book from Netgalley to review. Thank you for the opportunity.
A cheesy and fluffy read with little real substance. Good for those looking for an escapist read.
An OK read.
ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Second book in a duet, first book must be read first. I was really happy to receive this ARC so soon after reading the first book since it ended on such a cliffhanger! I enjoyed the storyline and characters, and will look for more from Tori Fox.
Haven't read the earlier books in the series, so I couldn't understand the appeal of these characters. Lots of tired old tropes and soap opera drama. Multiple "crazy, evil women" causing problems. Salty language to the point that it seems like the author's vocabulary is limited to about 3 insults. I couldn't make myself finish it and noped out at around 40%.
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for a digital ARC for the purpose of an unbiased review.
After reading the first book in the Broken Lyrics Duet and absolutely loving the story and characters, Then to be left on such a cliff hanger I couldn’t wait to see how everything would work out. Book Two picked up from where book one left us. Unfortunately for me this book didn’t live up to the first one. I found it to be lacking as well as going at a much slower pace. I really wanted to love this book but I just couldn’t.
We pick up with Anna having run away from her sisters engagement party. As she finally found out that her so called best friend Becca had not only been sleeping with her fiance, but she had also had his child.
For years Becca was the only person from Anna’s home town that she stayed in touch with. After her fiance died in a car accident. Anna didn’t know that all this time Becca had been constantly manipulating her, by dissuading Anna not to come back and make it up with her family.
When Anna ran away this time she went to the only place that she knew nobody would find her. Her grandmother’s house at the beach. Nobody knew that this place had been left to Anna. So she knew she’d get the time she needed.
Noah stayed as long as he felt he could with Anna’s parents, but felt that he was starting to out stay his welcome. He bumped in to a friend of Anna’s at the local bar and he told Noah she had borrowed his car. He also passed on a letter that Anna had asked to be pass to Noah in a few days after her leaving so he wouldn’t worry.
It didn’t make Noah feel any better it made him more determined to find her. He got the registration number of the car and cashed in a few favours from other cops he knew to try and trace where the car was. It didn’t take long for him to find her as he remembered her talking about the house at the beach. The only sticking problem was that he couldn’t remember which island it was on.
When Noah turned up at Anna’s door, she didn’t realise how much she had been missing him. They took the time to talk and work everything out between them then spent the rest of the week making up. as well as making new memoires together at the beach house.
As the week was nearing to an end the both knew that they had to go back home as their lives were still waiting for them. Anna had to get ready for a song writers camp she was hoping to be chosen to go on, by writing a new song.
Just as things were starting to get back on track and they were getting in to a familiar routine. A woman turns up at their house proclaiming to be Noah’s wife and that they were still married as she contested the divorce. This turned Anna and Noah’s lives upside down and yet again Anna runs.
This time though Noah knows where she has run too, and under the advice of his younger brother he stops trying to contact her and give her the time and space she needs to work out her feelings. During this time Noah tries to find out exactly why his ex-wife turned up clamming that they are still married. After all she left years ago without leaving any clues to where she had gone, she’d just disappeared without a trace.
Noah’s ex-wife was doing all she could to come between him and Anna, he needed to get her back out of his life! Will Noah find out the truth behind his ex-wife reappearing? How will he get rid of her and how can he make Anna believe that she is the only woman for him, as she is the one that brought him back to life.
After reading the first book and it leaving in a cliffhanger I was really interested in how it was going to end. Now that I have read it, it was the perfect way to end the series.
The Fate of Us was a read I anticipated and looked forward to beginning this title from a new author to me.
The book told the story of two people who had misfortune in the love department and found each other. Not without struggle of course.
It was a typical romance book with a happy ending that unfortunately left nothing to the imagination. It was an easy read and reasonable light hearted with a few hot and steamy scenes.
I received an eARC of The Fate of Us by Tori Fox from Victory Editing and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
5 stars! This is book two of Noah and Anna's story. This book was everything! Do yourself a favor and read this book. You won't be disappointed!
Noah and Anna’s story continues in The Fate of Us. This enthralling story drew me in and I found myself quickly turning the pages to find out what would happen next. This is a touching and emotional story about two wounded souls who deserve to find happiness. Noah and Anna are vulnerable and have a lot of baggage, but they are also sweet and deserving of a second chance at love, they just needed to find the right partner.
Noah and Anna find each other when they both feel they are undeserving of love or happiness. They help each other heal, move on and find happiness. Noah is so sweet and loving to Anna. He is such a good guy and very protective. Once he falls, he is all in. It just takes him a while to open his heart. Anna is talented, beautiful, warm and caring but she doesn’t have a lot of confidence. Noah makes her feel good about herself and makes her feel complete. They are two wounded souls who have given up until they find each other.
I loved Noah’s family. His brothers add a lot of entertainment and laughter to the story and I would love to read their stories in the future. I thoroughly enjoyed this moving and emotional story.
Wow, so i got this request and didn't realize it was a book 2, so I did my research and read the first book. Boy was I glad I didn't have to wait with that cliffhanger. I picked this book up last night around 8 and couldn't put it down. 4 hours later I was done and reeling. This book was a lot different from the first. There was a lot more action and suspense and I enjoyed it. Part of me thought like how much shit can two people go through? How realistic is this? Like how can Anna May not afford her life and work three jobs yet somehow have this cabin in South Carolina. Like girl taxes on that can't be cheap! But I got over that stigma. I liked the cheeky saucy moments. it was just enough. Sometimes romance books can just be filled with sex scenes that you don't really understand how these people actually have a relationship, but I think this had a great balance of both. I liked that they brought in Noah's job and Anna May's song writing seminar in and made this feel like a real life and not just two people falling in love. I couldn't put this down and really enjoyed it overall. I could use a spin off of some of these brothers!
The Ghost of Us was the first story I read by Tori Fox and she left me eagerly waiting for the conclusion, The Fate of Us. Let me just say, book two was everything!
Falling in love with someone isn't always easy, as was the case with Noah and Anna. With so much to overcome from the ghosts of their pasts, book one had you wondering if these two were worth fighting for, but in book two, everything is clearer and more focused, though not without obstacles. Noah's not about to let Anna go. And though there's not a lot of time lapse between the two stories, I felt Noah and Anna were truly seeing each other for what their relationship was really worth.
Whereas The Ghost of Us was a little questionable where the two of them were concerned, The Fate of Us fills in all the gaps. I embraced Anna more than I did in book one and I yearned for these two to have a happily ever after. With all they'd been through, they deeply deserved happiness. It was so obvious what Noah and Anna could do for each other, and book two was conquering and rising to that relationship they were worthy of having.
Tori Fox has that unique ability to make you fall in love with her characters slowly yet confidently. She doesn't give you false hope, yet she gives a realistic approach to falling in love and it's what makes this duet so believable and so touching. I'm so happy I stumbled across her because Noah and Anna's story is definitely worth the read. Please read their first story though because you'll need to get the full effect of what their story is all about.
Five stars!!
This story has been such a joy to read, I missed the chance to ARC Read the First part of the duet but despite not really understanding what was going I enjoyed the story.
I love Noah and his Anna May. They were both broken and haunted by ghosts of the past. They found each other and began to heal together. Now, they must face some huge obstacles before they can progress towards their happily ever after.
The biggest question is... Is their love strong enough to last? I loved the beautiful writing and the wonderful characters in this book.
I’d say this was a strong 4 out of 5 Stars.
***I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.***
"The Fate of Us" is the conclusion of the "Broken Lyrics" duet and picks up right where the previous book left off.
Noah and Anna just want a happy ending after finding themselves in such a fast and intense romance, but there are still so many stones in the way! Anna already knows the truth about her past and is ready to move on with her life, but the weight of her insecurities plays a trick on her and makes her doubt herself. Noah just wants Anna, but the ghosts of his past don't leave him alone either and things get even more complicated when his ex-wife makes a comeback.
Romance, music, suspense, a nosy family and a happy ending, that's what you can find in this passionate story.
This was a new author for me, but the blurb sucked me and the story was simply amazing! I couldn't put it down!
This book was definitely out of my norm BUT I like trying new authors/books. Anna and Noah have some serious baggage (past relationship betrayals). Was wonderfully written. Great chemistry, angst, heart breaking moments, and happiness.
This duet has been such a joy to read. I love Noah and his Anna May. They were both broken and haunted by ghosts of the past. They found each other and began to heal together. Now, they must face some huge obstacles before they can progress towards their happily ever after. Is their love strong enough to last? I loved the beautiful writing and the wonderful characters in this book. I highly recommend this five star read.
I'm giving this book 4.5 stars. The Fate of Us continues from the first book where Anna ran when she discovered all the details before the fatal night her former fiancee was killed. Noah went after Anna and found her at her cabin by the lake which no one knew Anna owed. This book has Anna and Noah moving in together, learning to trust, love and let go of their past loves until the past comes back to haunt them. This book has unexpected twists, turns and what the hell moments that will make you keep reading until the end. I really enjoyed reading this well written two book series.

This book is amazing I fought the first book was excellent but this book is the best the scenes the story line and plots every chapter there a new scene I love it how you have one chapter saying Anna then Noah and every chapter a new scene. The romance between them is amazing it’s a true love story with a happy ending in the end.
I’m glad Anna found peace with Kyle in the end I’m glad she had a letter saying he was cheating on her with becc. and Anna knew about it but didn’t know about all the others but now she run away two the beach hut that her aunt left her that no one in her family knew it was left two here she never told any one in seven years that it was left two her she kept it a secret. She knew she shouldn’t run away but she needed space and she hoped deep down Noah would find her and he did Noah did turn up and they had a beautiful week on the beach brought them together. She went back home made up two her mum and sister over Becca and she was happy with her family again. Noah and Anna went back home she moved in with him and things were great slowly moving her music things over she was working still in two jobs in the pubs and even bought plants two Bright up the home. She had two go two Nashville for a two week music deal school that mason set her up with she had two write songs she hated being away from Noah but she was glad his ex wife showed up claiming she was still married two him and she didn’t want two go home two her being there she stayed and extra week with Aston and she sang her song on stage about Noah and everybody loved the music people loved her writing she only wanted two write music not sing music. Any way Noah found out his ex wife was money laundering and the divorce wasn’t legal and she married someone else two apparently. Noah had her followed and found out a few things she eventually left when Anna came back and moved in again she went back two New York things were great in-till one night at the bar and Becca walk in someone been leaving notes for her nasty one but they didn’t know who they knew it wasn't’ Beccathey still didn’t know who but then while at work Becca turned up with a gun saying why did she have all the men and why Kyle wanted her back and she had his child Becca was a mess she shot fired a. Gun straight at Anna in the arm she was bleeding till Noah found the two of them they arrested becca for attempted murder and Anna was ok she quit her two jobs in the pubs and just done yoga for now and loved spending time with Noah they bought a new house they got married had two kids and one on the way they were happy for eight years. I dint want this book two end I loved it so much I loved the romance how they both loved each other deeply. It one of my best romance series so far.
I loved this so much, after the ending of the first book I was so happy this book picked up straight away from where the first ended, a nice smooth start. I thought this was a great sequel, solving all the unanswered questions, resolving issues and bringing the great chemistry back again. Absolutely love Noah and the families again, just a great story and glad I got the ending I wanted so much after the first book
