Pocket Therapy for Anxiety is a quick and easy read. The advice comes in handy for anyone dealing with anxiety.
Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.
This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.
As someone who suffers from GAD, having additional tools in my toolbox is always needed. This book provided me with so many amazing ways to help support myself and others suffering from anxiety. This is a book that I will be referring back to a lot, and I am so grateful it exists.
This helped me push through some of my anxiety. Though it will not cure you from everything, it is a great little guide to helping you through some tough days.
This was such a good, quick read. The book describes different types of anxiety and how to help overcome them. I’m glad I got this book and I would recommend it to anyone who has anxiety.
A quick and simple read. A great book for understanding anxiety and how to deal with it.
It's very simple writing, but informative and helpful.
This book is very, very useful, one I sincerely hold close to my heart. It's easy to understand and written in a gentle yet no-nonsense manner.
Many thanks to NetGalley and New Harbinger Publications, Inc. for this free eARC. This review is made with no monetary compensations whatsoever from the owners of this eARC.
This is a super fun read. I really enjoyed this one!
Many thanks to the author, the publisher, and Netgalley for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
This was a short handy guide to dealing with anxiety and anxiety attacks and contains lots of great and helpful tips to help with these issues. The tips are great because they contain things you can do wherever you are and you can do them without drawing attention to yourself. I would have liked to see things in a bit more detail but it is a handy little guide.
Pocket Therapy for anxiety is a very helpful and explained everything very. It well written and has some good tips.

I really enjoyed this educational read about anxiety. It was both informative and relatable. I would recommend for anyone struggling with anxiety.
Thank you NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. This is a great foundational work for understanding and dealing with anxiety.
As someone who's struggled with anxiety for almost 20 years the thing is; there's never too much information. Just when you think you know it all, there's always a new study, a new suggestion, a new coping strategy to discover.
There was a lot of info in this book that I'm heavily considering including into my life and my routines. The chapter about what we consume and how it could impact anxiety, the how and why this happens, I found that super interesting.
The idea that resisting or fighting anxiety can make it worse is also something I had not considered. Because anxiety is mostly fear driven, there's a lot of things that can blur or not make sense in the moment.
I've resisted the idea of exposure therapy because I don't feel ready for it; the tips given in this book made me feel less anxiety about the idea of it. I'm not sure I'll be jumping into it any time soon, but at least now it's something I can consider without feeling like I have all of these NOW OR NEVER rules placed on me.
For someone struggling with anxiety, I'd definitely recommend this book!
This book was a nice introduction to understanding (and hopefully) overcoming anxiety. It was well written and well researched.
This is a great handy resource for tips and strategies for dealing with anxiety. I think this will be a really good resource to have in classrooms, libraries, guidance/counselling type settings and more. The book is accessible with easy starting points for those experiencing anxiety and wanting some strategies. I would definitely recommend this book to students, librarians, parents and teachers. It seems that there is no end to resources around anxiety, but what works for everyone can be so different. This is a great reference guide and especially as a starting point for someone new to experiencing anxiety or helping someone who has anxiety.
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
The cover is simple and gets the job done.
important, educational and easy to read. i'll be purchasing a physical copy of this VERY soon. It was super helpful.
I'll definitely be looking out for other work by this author.
Another helpful book in the Pocket Book series. Anxiety is another emotion that often can be difficult to manage and this book provides great tips and techniques to better realize and handle anxiety in one's life. The additional supplemental resources are a valuable asset - pairing nicely with the book.
This easy-to-read little book contains a good overview of the different types of anxiety, as well as a variety of exercises to help overcome it. It's important to put the exercises into practice in order to get the benefits.
The book's website contains bonus content you can download, which is also useful. I particularly like the progressive muscle relaxation audio. If you're looking for practical tips to help take control of your anxiety, this book should help.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received.
Very useful book.
