This is the third book in the Highest Bidder series and the second that I have read. It works as a standalone novel and you really don't need to have read either of the other two books first. This latest instalment is a little different. The first two books are about women who decide to sell their virginity to the highest bidder. I'm not usually a fan of virgins taking their first sexual steps, but the book that I have read was well written and worked well. This time we are focused on Madam Alexa, who runs the virgin auctions. An ex-client died in a car crash after she should have been part of her auction and now her half brother Brookes is looking for answers as to what happened. When he and Alexa meet, the sparks between them fly.
There is plenty of heat and romance in this book. There are lots of quite full-on sex scenes, but they don't feel at all gratuitous and work well showing the heat and passion between our hero and heroine. Alongside this is also the mystery of what has happened to Brookes sister. There are a few surprises and plot twists here, although I had guessed where it was going by the time we reached there.
Overall this is a satisfying and entertaining read with a suspense element alongside the hot romance that builds between Alexa and Brookes.

Brooks is trying to find out about his sister's death. The virgin auction she was to participate in was the place to start. He suggests to madam Alexa, a virgin male auction! Hmmmm.

Suspense, steam. Kept me invested until the very end!

I do not normally read anything anymore that has the description billionaire in it. This author though picked my curiosity with the story line and having read this author a time or two figured I would probably be captivated. I was not wrong with the character Alexa showing me her gumption. Though at times I wanted to scream at her with one or two escaping but she did not listen. Brooks now he is one at first I wanted to I do not know what but he was running on emotions with out all the facts. Alexa herself is his turning point but by then we are all in deep with needing to see what will become of it all. While that is going on though becareful it might get a little warm.

Brooks Taylor is trying to piece together the story of why his little sister agreed to Madam Alexa’s virgin auction, and later ended up dead. He suggests a business proposal so that he can spend time with Madam Alexa to discover the truth. Alexa is intriguing to Brooks: sexy yet wholesome, mysterious and yet vulnerable. They spend time together under the guise of the business proposal, but an attraction develops between the two, and they don’t deny themselves! Falcone writes a story that is full of suspense and drama, and there is a bit of back story from their youths to explain how they’ve developed as people. I enjoyed the story; it was sweet at times, and you really rooted for Madam Alexa as the story goes on. She wants to do the right thing by exposing the truth, and she wants to find her happily ever after. For those who are interested in a quick mystery story, sweet characters, and steamy scenes, this is a great book to read and you can finish it in a day!

The Billionaire's Betrayal is a sexy romance that may require oven mitts for all the steamy hot chemistry between Brooks and Alexa. I am surprised my kindle didn't burst into flames! Falcone's writing pulls you in and holds your attention until the end, leaving you wanting more. If you like steamy romances, The Billionaire's Betrayal by Carmen Falcone is a must-read.

I enjoyed the plot of The Billionaire’s Betrayal and I really did like the character development between both Alexa and Brooks. Brooks is your typical sexy billionaire and Alexa is the girl with a secret that Brooks is trying to unravel.

The relationship between the two of them was both charming and steamy and I really did enjoy watching their romance unfold.

However, there was one aspect of this book that fell a little flat for me and that was the descriptions during the steamy scenes. I’m sorry, but a rod is something you fish with, right? There are some other words too that I did find more cringe than hot and this book happened to use a few of them. I know that this won’t be a problem for everybody though, so don’t let this sway you too much.
Every other aspect of the writing was great and I did find myself super invested in the story. I really wanted to know just what had happened to Brooks’ sister and whether Alexa knew anything or not.

The Billionaire’s Betrayal is a dark romance that follows the journey of Alexa and Brooks. Alexa is a madam that auctions off virgins to the highest bidder. Brooks is a sex on legs, Texan billionaire who is searching for the truth about his sister’s death.

The sex scenes between Alexa and Brooks were pure ecstasy and absolutely rocked my world!! I like the characters especially Alexa because her strength is inspiring and she is relatable. I like Brooks but I feel like he is too kind and mushy at the start of the book. I wanted more drama and a lot more betrayal. At times I felt as if the main focus of the book was the sex scenes and the rest of the story wasn’t as important. I still found the book to be interesting, especially because of the twists and turns that I never saw coming.

This is the first book of Carmen’s that I have read and I would definitely read more of her work.

Wow this book is hot. I’ve never read any of Carmen Falcone’s other books. As I understand this is the last in a series for the Madam Alexa. However, this book could certainly be read as a stand alone novel. Sure it won’t win any literary awards but if you want a book that’s quick to read with hot sex thrown in then this is your book.

This read was steamy in every aspect! The Billionaire's Betrayal tells the story of Madam Alex, who has been running an unorthodox auction, where women get to auction off their virginity to the highest bidder. Brook Taylor's sister was at a time one of the girls, until her death right after. Going undercover to find his sisters killer, Brook believed that Alex had something to do with it. He was willing to do anything to get down to the truth.

Alex and Brook's chemistry was off the chart right from their first meeting. Their sexual relationship throughout the book was over the top HOT. Add on suspense and twist and turns, their story became even better.

Who isn't a sucker for a good and steam dark romance? If you follow my reviews you know I am a fan of anything steamy with a touch of darkness, however The Billionaire's Betrayal was a fast read that left me with no interest in the characters or their story.

The Billionaire's Betrayal follows our two main characters Alexa and Brooks. Alexa is a Madam for a virgin auction, she basically sells girl's virginities to the highest bidder and they can stay with them for 30 days. Brooks' sister died or "was murdered" and the last place she was in was at Madam Alexa's auction. Brooks befriends Alexa and tries to get information out of her and soon realizes he is attracted to her. Using this attraction to his advantage he does everything in his power to weaken Alexa's walls and have him trust her. His plan obviously gets sidetracked when he realizes he really enjoys her affection.

My first issue with the book is that although the themes were dark and could have created a good atmosphere, the rapid pace of the story didn't allow for the reader to entertain the plot. There really was no plot, or that's how it felt. As all scenes where basically ignored and more attention was given to the intimate scenes. I felt as though everything else was just a filler for the lust the characters fell for each other, hence why I really didn't fall for their relationship. Apart from the sex, everything was telling rather than showing.

Even the climax or plot twist of the book is barely analyzed or glanced at. It all acts as a second act for the heavy sex scenes, which were also not that great. I always like my dark romances to have a little bit more depth which heavily lacked in this story.

This book was nice and steamy ! It was an easy read to get involved! I enjoyed the plot and the characters! It’s kind of the perfect read if you don’t want to focus and just get lost into a book!

The Billionaire's Betrayal is a steamy romance that I really enjoyed reading. The characters have an interesting dynamic and the chemistry is off-the-charts. Alexa owns a company that auctions girls' virginity. She has a troubled past, but a business proposal from Brooks and everything will change. Brooks will make her feel in a way she never experienced before. As for Brooks, he is a wealthy billionaire on a mission to find out what happened to his sister after she left Alexa's company.

Pros: The relationship between the two characters grows from lust to love and it's a beautiful journey there. Each of them has their struggles but finds the strength to overcome some of them. The ending also took a nice direction. Nicely done!

Cons: The story felt rushed at times. The plot is nice but feels underdeveloped in the middle of the books. There are not many cons, but this is why I didn't give five stars. I still really enjoyed it.

Overall, this is a great story. If you're looking for a fast read on the steamy side and that has characters with great chemistry, this is for you :)

Hot and steamy from start to finish. This wraps up the series nicely as Madam Alexa gets her own very happy ending. Brooks is a very hot Texas man on a mission to solve the mystery that is Alexa. Together they sizzle on the pages as they try to figure out just what happened to his sister.

I definitely enjoyed reading about Madame Alexa and her Billionaire Hunk but the story didn't quite GRAB me like other stories.

If you want something on FIRE and steamy this book is DEFINITELY it!!! The scenes were to die for and my imagination was going wild with me.

The plot however didn't quite grab my attention. It was a unique story line and I enjoyed it but it wasn't something that I was rushing out to get the entire series thus far just to catch up on all the characters in this universe.

Still a great read and the steam was definitely there!!

Skillfully written, with well developed characters. Sensual erotic scenes that leave the reader panting with desire and an ending that I definitely did not expect! I'd never read anything by Cassie Cross but I'm certainly glad I was introduced to her through The Billionaire's Betrayal.

Not only was this book hot, hot, hot! It had a great story line. I love when books jump straight into the action of the story and Falcone's novel did just that.

Alexa and Brooks sizzled with so much chemistry and sexual tension that I had to fan myself quite a few times. Billionaire's Betrayal was sexy, engaging and kept my interest up to the last page. This was my first book by the author and I will definitely add her to my TBR list. Although The Billionaire's Betrayal is third in a series, it can be read as a stand alone. I was not lost at all and was able to follow along with the story.

Hot romance with a little suspense!

I’ve read so many of Carmen’s stories and I keep gravitating back to them because I just love her hot and spicy one-handed reads. This one is a perfect example of a story that you can’t put down.

It is a part of a series but certainly not one that you can’t read on its own. I have read the other stories in this series so I was familiar with the plot.

When you put a virgin auction Madame together with a hot Texan billionaire you know sparks are gonna fly and this one certainly fits the bill. But not all things were rosie and beautiful since he had a bit of a secret.

Falcone steps up with a super hot read that will get your motor running! Just love her stories! Zing!!!!! And the cover... damn! Love it!

After reading the first two parts of the Highest Bidder Series (Auctioned to the billionaire Greek and Sold to the King) I was intrigued to read about the owner of the virgin auctions: Madame Alexa. You can read about her past and why she started the auction.
And you can read about the hot billionaire Texan Brooks Taylor, who is hell bend on finding out what happened with his sister Pamela at the auction, before she was found dead. By using a ruse: proposing a male virgin auction to madame Alexa to find out more about her business, Brooks tries to look for clues. He didn't expect the sparks flying between them, almost setting your panties on fire.
In all a great read about secrets, making your own future and family ties. And of course, Carmen Falcone also provides some steamy scenes to enjoy the ride. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
