Undercover Kitty is a delightful cozy mystery. Great plot with a cast of quirky characters. I highly recommend this book. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and Netgalley and this is my unbiased review.

In this book Sarah and Elvis go undercover at a cat show.. I really liked this light hearted cozy mystery. The characters are sweet and realistic. The twists kept throwing me off. I could not guess the killer correctly. I was always thinking of the wrong person. I did not expect the killer to be that person. If you like clever cozies than this is the series for you.

Something is fishy at the American Cat Fancier (AFA) shows and it isn’t the sardine crackers the contestants love to munch. Enter an eclectic detective agency named Charlotte’s Angels - just Angels for short - to sort out what is going on. The detectives are a mix of senior citizens, Sarah who owns a delightful resale shop and a troubled teen who lives with one of the members. And of course, Elvis, Sarah’s rescue cat. Yes, he is named after the Rock and Roll icon, but is also legend in the Angel’s as well as his own opinion.

Rose, the head of the Angels convinces Sarah to enter Elvis in the AFA Show as an undercover agent. They need to find out who is behind the sabotage that has turned up lately at the shows. Unfortunately, things have escalated. When one of the owners is found dead, everyone assumes it is a horrible accident. But the Angels soon realize it is murder. Will they find the person that is responsible before another feline or human is hurt or killed? The Angels are determined to crack the case.

Undercover Kitty is the purr-fect cozy mystery. Elvis is adorably aloof yet loveable and smart. The group of amateur sleuths are fun to meet and determined to solve the case. There is a bit of romance for a few of the characters as well as a strong bond of friendship within the group of friends and felines.

Cozy and cat lovers will really enjoy this fast-paced mystery. Sofie Ryan is a well-deserved New York Times Bestselling Author. Undercover Kitty is the eighth book in her Second Chance Cat Mystery. She is also the bestselling author of the Magical Cats series – also cozy mysteries.

Undercover Kitty by Sofia Ryan is the 8th book in her Second Chance Cat Mystery series. This is my first time reading this series, and I have to say I really enjoyed Undercover Kitty, as it was a fun, cute mystery.

Sarah Grayson runs a resale/repurpose store called Second Chance, and she has a smart adorable black cat named Elvis; together they are for the most part our heroes in this series. Also, part of this series is a detective agency called Charlotte’s Angels, which have a wonderful group of senior citizens (Rose, Liz, Charlotte and the one man, Mr. P), who reside in Sarah’s shop and investigate cases they are hired for.

Sarah learns that Rose and Mr. P want to use Elvis to be their undercover cat at a cat show, since they have been hired by cat show organizers to investigate some vandalism and sabotages over the last few shows. Of course, Sarah, allows Elvis to be part of it, and makes sure to check out the venue to insure everything is ok, and along the way meets some new people, as well as enjoying the overall cat show vibe. I have to admit, I totally fell in love with Elvis, especially his cute side bending glances at people, and his total understanding of what people maybe saying or doing. I really need to go back to the first book of this series, to learn more about Elvis and Sarah.

What follows is an exciting, fun, cute mystery whodunit, with wonderful recurring characters, which kept my attention from start to finish. When one of the ladies Sarah meets ends up dead, the investigation escalates with Sarah, Angels, and two other local men helping with security, to find the killer. There were a number of twists and surprises that kept changing the game, and Sarah finds herself doing her own investigations.
I really loved the friendly banter and relationship with Sarah, and The Angels, as they were all smart and savvy, with no fear among them. There is also a slow built romance between Sarah and Mac, which I’m sure will move forward in future books. I got a kick out of the banners at the show, with all kinds of cat sayings.

Undercover Kitty was a delightful, humorous and charming story, with a fantastic group of recurring characters, as well as our wonderful Elvis, all of whom have a wonderful bond together. If you enjoy a lighthearted mystery, a smart cute cat, and wonderful heroine, then I suggest you read this series, so very well written by Sofia Ryan.

This series grabbed me from the very first book and it has been a true delight to read ever since.
The characters, especially Sarah, Elvis and the friends who form a detective agency, are vividly written and are wonderfully engaging and entertaining to read.
The whodunits are well paced and keep me guessing and wanting to know the outcome!
This latest offering is even better than expected.
I cannot wait to read the next in the series!
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I loved this book. If I had to use two words to describe this book they would be charmingly adorable. I loved that this book gave the cats their own 'voices.' That they were so much apart of this book just as much as the MCs.

Sarah and Elvis make a great team. Sarah obviously loves her kitty, Elvis and the affection is reciprocated. Their whole story on how Sarah ended up with Elvis is so cute! I originally picked this book based on nothing but the title and the cover and this book definitely lived up to my expectations. Yeah, kitty books are not for everyone, however, to me it was incredibly enjoyable.

Sarah and her Second Chances store staff all work together great. I love the budding romance between her and Mac. And I especially love how everyone is like one huge giant family. I love that Ruth, Liz, and Gran all love on Sarah like she so obviously needs it.

I found this book heartwarming and I thought the mystery was great. And the idea of using Elvis as an "undercover kitty' was genius. This was my first book by Sofie Ryan and I am so happy that I read it. I will definitely be reading more of her books in the coming years.

I received this ARC by NetGalley to read and review and give my own honest opinions. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

Title: Undercover Kitty
Author: Sofie Ryan
Genre: Cozy Mystery
Rating: 4 out of 5

Sarah and Elvis can always be found at a charming secondhand shop in the village of North Harbor, Maine. Despite the small-town setting, the daring duo often find themselves wrapped up in murder, but luckily they have help--a quirky group of senior citizens runs an amateur detective agency called Charlotte's Angels out of the store.

The Angels are hired to look into who is sabotaging cat shows in the state, and they decide the best way to do that is to send Elvis the cat undercover as a contestant. But then one of the cat show volunteers is murdered just before the latest competition, and Sarah and the Angels have to catch a killer in two shakes of a cat's tail!
This is the eighth book in the Second Chance Cat Mystery series. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series, but that wasn’t a problem. (That being said, having read the other seven books probably would have given this some more depth.)

This was a quick, fun read with some moments that made me laugh. I didn’t think the culprit was totally unexpected, but it wasn’t glaringly obvious, either. This is well-written and quirky—and I honestly had no idea that cat shows were such a thing. (And I say that as a cat owner!)

Sofie Ryan lives on the east coast. Undercover Kitty is her newest novel.

This is the first book I've read in this series and I loved it. I feel in love with Elvis! It had just enough twists and turns to keep you turning the pages. Thank you Berkley Publishing Group via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

I love Elvis, as well as this series. I like seeing the bits into the business. The characters are interesting without being over the top quirky. There were two mysteries and we didn't find out until the end if they were tied together or not.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.

If I could give this double 5 stars I would!! I just loved this entire story. And who wouldn't want an Elvis of their own? So adorable. Plus, I felt like every character in this book was well placed and given just the right amoutn of character development and story time. Sofie Ryan's Second Chance Mysteries are still going strong even though this is the 8th installment. Sometimes with series, writers get lazy and just kind of go through the motions but now so with this one. LOVED IT!!!

This was another great installment of the Elvis cat mysteries. You might be better off starting this series from the beginning so to have an understanding of the characters. This wasn't this best in this series, but is was enjoyable even so. Elvis is such a character that he is fun to read about in his antics. Sarah's role seems a bit more on the periphery in this book. There is a twist but it was something I saw coming so it was not a huge surprise. The enjoyment in this book is reading about the relationships among the characters.

Maybe it is because this is the first book I have read in the established series, but I found it a bit mediocre. However, it was mainly because of the lack of character development, which I probably would have gotten had I started from the beginning of the series. Yes, it can be a stand alone cutely decent mystery, but it's probably best to at least start with book one. Because it's not a satisfying stand alone book, I give it 3 stars. Probably better rated by those who have read the whole series.

Enjoyable, but not the strongest entry in the series. The mystery takes second place to the relationships between the characters. That's not a bad thing, and it's why this author's series are among my top five favorites cozies. Most of the character growth occurs two of the minor characters, and it's nice that we got to see the whole gang in action.

There was such emphasis on one of the plot devices that I was perplexed that none of the amateur sleuths asked the obvious question when the item was found at the site of a death. The book would have been at least a third shorter if any of them had asked, though, so I'm glad they didn't.

Nice story with the spotlight on Elvis (as it should be), who once again helps solve the crime and who saves the day.

This review will be cross-posted to the Tulsa City-County Library website closer to release date.

A purrfectly enchanting addition to a well-loved series. Cat shows, money, competition, and sabotage make up this latest installment. Will the gang get to the bottom of the mystery? A well rounded and developed read.

This is the 8th installment in the Second Chance mystery series. Sarah Grayson runs Second Chance which is a resale shop in which sells used and refurbished items along with her rescue cat Elvis (Elvis is in the building !). There is a detective agency of senior ladies called Charlotte’s Angels (Liz, Rose, Charlotte along with Mr. P (surrogate Bosley)) who also reside in her shop and they are on the case of sabotage at cat shows along the Atlantic Coast. They need a cat and owner to go undercover and Sarah and Elvis fit the bill. Sarah meets other cat owners including Debra and her friend Christina who fill her in on the ins and outs of the show world. When Christina is found dead in her apartment there is some question whether it was accidental or intentional Sarah wants to find justice for her new friend. This is a delightful read. I have not read all in the series but this did impact the joy of the read. The Angels are so with it and provide such a charm to the story. Cozies succeed because of the quality of the relationships and this is key to this series. I need to go back and figure out which ones I have not read and add to my TBR pile.

Sarah and Elvis are once again involved in a mystery in their small town. This time someone is sabotaging cat shows in the region. The owners need someone to investigate and Elvis, of course, is the ideal cat to go in undercover.

This is the eighth book in Sofie Ryan’s Second Chance Cat mystery series and they just keep getting better. I always enjoy the descriptions of the items in Sarah’s upcycling store. I am not creative and I wish the store was real. I would love to purchase some of their merchandise. The relationship between Mac and Sarah is growing, but these books are not romances. They are cozy mysteries with a heavy dose of cats.

I would and have recommended these books to readers who love cozies, cats, and small town people. The upcycling component is just a bonus.

This book was sent to me by NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Undercover Kitty by Sofie Ryan (A Second Chance Mystery #8) 5 stars

Elvis is back and I don't mean the King of Rock and Roll. A new Second Chance Mystery is always on the must read list - No disappointments here.

Charlotte's Angels have a new case and they need an undercover operative. Sabotage and vandalism at the Atlantic Coast Cat Shows, Who has rakish charm and savoir faire to be a contestant - Elvis of course and he has to bring along his person, Sarah Greyson. Sarah meets other cat people at the shows, like Debra Martinez and her champion cat Socrates. Debra's friend Christine Eldridge provide Sarah with color background of the other owners and judges. In the midst of investigating the sabotage, a tragic accident happens. Christine Eldridge is found dead in her apartment after a fire breaks out. But is it an accident? You'll have to read the book to find out the conclusion to that mystery and the sabotage.

I adored this book. The Angels, a band of "elders" who still have a lot of vim and vigor and smarts are fun to read about. Just because they are "old" it doesn't pay to underestimate them. The actual mystery was great, but what makes this series excellent is the relationship between all the regular characters. I can' wait for the next book in this series.
