Peter Bleksley takes readers with him on his mission to find KevinParle - a man who has been on the run since 2005 accused of two horrible murders in Liverpool.

As a reader of true crime books I am always looking for stories I haven't come across before and new authors and I wasn't disappointed

The book was fascinating read, well-written, and a really page-turner.

I think the saddest fact about it doesn't end with the capture of Kevin Parle. One can only hope one day he's victims can get justice.

Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

As the author says if you are looking for true crime book that has an ending then this is not the book for you.
I knew a little about this case before reading the book.
Peter and Mark’s journey to find Parle is infuriating as a reader as you know that he is still hunting him but he doesn’t stop in his quest to find him. To keep his name out there and having a burner phone for any information that people may come forward with even the smallest bits.
This is a fascinating read and does raise a few questions that even Peter raises himself with regards to Parle.
I hope for the families sake that he is eventually caught as I can’t imagine what the families go through.

I listened to Peter’s podcast of the same name and found it interesting. So, when I saw the book I thought I would read it.

Kevin Parle is wanted for two horrific murders of young, innocent victims in Liverpool. He has been on the run for sixteen years. Despite sightings of him in various locations, he’s never been caught.

Peter is determined to find him and this really shows in the book and podcast. He’s dedicated to the cause and goes to great lengths to obtain credible information which could help locate Parle. He’s not interested in money and wants justice for the families.

In the first quarter of the book it felt like it had been padded out a bit and the football chat didn’t interest me. However, as the book went on it became more focused on the process and hunt for Parle and the challenges brought about by the pandemic.

If you like true crime, or if you have listened to the podcast, you’ll like this book.

This book is a good companion to the podcast and I would recommend listening to it if you haven’t already.

I really hope that once Peter can continue his investigations fully, he finds Kevin Parle.

I very rarely don’t finish a book, but this book seemed more about the author’s ego than anything else. I wanted it to be more about the crimes, the victims and the people that were left behind. I went into the book expecting and hoping for one thing and unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. I made it about 3/4 of the way through before I stopped. Maybe, I should have powered through. I am sure that some people would find this an interesting read, but it wasn’t my cup of tea.

I was provided a copy of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I had never heard of this crime, so this made it more fascinating to me. I found this book very interesting and compelling. It was hard to put down, I wanted to know what came next. The writing was extremely well done and the story was great. He really kept my interest. I just learned that the author, Peter Bleksley, also has a podcast about this book, so I am going to seek it out. I understand it is very well done. I really liked this book and recommend it!

I have devoured this book in 2 days. I've loved it from start to finish. Very harrowing, honest, upsetting and also intriguing. Flip it over and you also have hope, excitement, thrilling and a want to catch the bad guy.
Peter bleksley has written a corker of a book here and the public interest has been amazing. Thank you so much to netgalley, Peter, and the publishers for allowing me to read this book for my honest opinion. I wish Peter every success in finding Kevin Parle

This book was super good. It was super original and I flew through it. It didn't feel like anything I've read in the past. Can't wait to read more from the author!! This book was unputdownable.

I was intrigued by this case as I have not heard of Kevin Parle before and I do love a good manhunt case. Unfortunately I did not finish this book. While I do appreciate Bleksley's effort and passion in this case, but he spends too much time listing his achievements and talking about himself, to a point it feels like a self-aggrandizement book rather than about the case. I couldn't even get pass the first three chapters.

I am sorry to say that this book did very little for me. While Bleksley should be applauded for his earnest endeavours the book is short on information and long on conjecture and fluff.

As a companion piece to the podcast of the same name, the book gives little insight into the making of the podcast, this is something that would have been of interest to many people but beyond mentioning Mark with a microphone and the mention of a producer, there is little to excite those of a technical bent.

That aside, the main issue with this book is that Bleksley does little more than give out flyers and chase down rumours. Although the effort he puts in is commendable he does nothing more than scratch the surface of the underworld and not once in the book does anything verifiable come his way. This leads, inevitably, to much conjecture and also a lot of chest-thumping. I hope Bleksley keeps a list because I lost track of the amount of vows he makes in this book.

All told, this book is well intentioned but ultimately disappointing. There is nothing to recommend here, there is a lot of filler material and I do feel sorry for him having to write about conversation he had with comrades about the rumours they received and conjecturing on where Parle may be.

An interesting and informative read focussing on the hunt for Kevin Parle.

This book didn't keep my interest. That's because the author spends too much of my time talking about himself. his political problems in law enforcement etc. I put the book down after a while because I felt it was not fleshing out "Britain's Most Wanted Killer" very well at all, and I really wasn't motivated to hear about the author's problems. I could have opted out to "not review this book" but I wanted to give an honest appraisal.

Kevin Parle is a ruthless, remorseless killer that is successful is evading law enforcement for over fifteen years. Peter Bleskley, retired detective, make it his mission to capture Kevin and bring him to justice. This is true crime at its best. It gives the astonishing story of a man that lives on the run from law enforcement after committing two gruesome murders. Great read for fans of true crime from everywhere.

I found this to be a good true crime book and I was just in the mood for one. It would normally have been a quick read for me, but I’ve not been getting much sleep at all, and found myself reading parts over a lot. The puppy’s barking doesn’t help much either at times, as he's looking out the window. But it’s a good story, following the based in Britain author as he hunts around the world for a double murderer. No longer as a cop but as a journalist, he’s squeezing his sources to try and get any line on this long-running fugitive/ killer. For true crime fans who enjoy British fugitive stories. Advance electronic review copy was provided by NetGalley, author Peter Bleksley, and publisher Ad Lib.

Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. This book takes you on a journey to find notorious serial killer Kevin Parle. Peter Bleksey was very methodical and diligent in his methods to find a serial killer.

This book was interesting in places, the process of hunting the criminal was well detailed. However it jumped around rather and at times the detail provided confused rather than added to the narrative. The author also talks about other cases he has investigated and again this adds confusion. The author admits that there is not a happy ending and that the investigation is ongoing, but this leaves the end of the book rather flat. I would be interested in a follow up and will be downloading the podcast to listen to, but rather disappointing as a true crime book.

A super intense looking finding one of Britain's most wanted killer. It is so interesting to see crime investigations in the UK vs USA. I really enjoyed the perspective and how interesting it was.
