Pregnant and barefoot! Poor Mariah had the brain of Einstein, but lived in a time of the caveman where they believed women should be seen as dolls and not heard!
She always felt unwanted because she was adopted so to compensate she studied hard and hovered into the shadows!
However, she finds her voice and nemesis in Viscount Donal Patrick O’Leary who is a caveman believer and thinks women should not be allowed to have an opportunity for an education!
Steam and smoke is erupted from all fronts and Mariah is ready to take this man to the cleaners!

Get ready for the funniest read and romance that simmers between these two characters!

The author adds just the right amount of drama and spice and it’s on between these two and this author makes this last book the creme de le creme! Super fantastic job!

If I haven't said it before, I love books with strong, smart heroines.
I really loved the strength, smarts and determination of Mariah, queen of bluestockings.
I liked Patrick's growth as a man if the times.

Miss Mariah Wynn is adopted and a complete bluestocking, both of which make her feel different from everyone else. She's dedicated to learning and fighting for women to have rights to attend college just like men. Patrick O'Leary, Viscount Donal, finds Mariah befuddling but intriguing. As an Irish lord raised without a mother, he's also grown up feeling different. Patrick has to decide whether he's willing to support Mariah or stand beside everyone else claiming she's simply asking for too much.

This is the sixth book in the Never The Bride series and can be read as a stand alone. This is a book that makes the reader feel. I really loved how fiesty, passionate, and true to herself Mariah was...and yet she was still quite vulnerable and needing of acceptance. At times I loved the budding relationship with the main characters, and at other times I wasn't sure I wanted them to have a HEA ending because Patrick just wasn't going far enough for Mariah! The story was a very interesting glimpse into a time when women had so little and men said they needed no more.

Mariah Wynn is a Bluestocking. She will always be a Bluestocking.
Mariah and Patrick O'Leary, Viscount Donal, had a few brief glances at her brother's wedding. While at Oxford for a "reunion" with his class mates, Patrick sees Mariah again. Fascinated by this young woman constantly standing up for herself and trying to break down the walls for equal education for women, Patrick mumbles and stumbles his way in pursuit of Mariah. Just when you think he gets it, he messes up....again.
Deep admiration for the women who paved the way for equality in education and the right to vote!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Always the Bluestocking was an enjoyable regency romance by Emily Murdoch, #6 in her Never the Bride series.

Mariah was a wonderfully headstrong, intelligent and feisty heroine. She's a bluestocking with a mission! And, no ignorant Viscount is going to stand in her way of attending lectures at University.

Patrick, the ignorant Viscount 😉 is determined she won’t get an education. Lots of arguments and desire along the way for these two before they reach their happily ever after.
