Under the Southern Sky is an ode to love...love of family, love of place, and love between individuals. Told in alternating points of view, the story focuses on the longtime connection between the Paxton and the Thaysden families: their friendship; their joys; their tragedies; their secrets. Underpinning it all is the relationship between Parker Thaysden, still mourning his late wife, his childhood friend investigative reporter Amelia Paxton, mourning the loss of her marriage, and the issue of surrogacy for the embryos left when Parker’s wife died. Ms. Harvey’s prose will suck readers into the story as the characters come to life. This is a beautifully written story of self discovery and truth. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.

This book sucked me in from the start, and I just could not put it down. Kristy Woodson Harvey is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors, and this is her best yet!
Where do you go when your heart, and the life you have made for yourself is broken to pieces, unexpectedly and all at once? How do you put the pieces together?
This book is narrated from the points of view of several characters, but primarily from Amelia and Parker. Amelia’s life unexpectedly takes a turn when she finds out her marriage is not what she thinks it is, and shortly thereafter, her career also takes a turn. Parker grew up as the boy next door, back hone in North Carolina, and has been reeling since his wife’s tragic death 3 years earlier. We get to know Greer through her journal entries, which brings her to life for the reader.
Amelia is pursuing a story and finds out that some embryos of Parker and Greer’s have been “abandoned” and she knows she needs to get in touch with Parker.
I really connected with the characters in this one, even the secondary characters. The dialogue was natural and flowed very well. I can’t say enough about this book (but I don’t want to give out any plot spoilers), so I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.
I received a copy of this book through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you for this early copy. I loved this book!! I quickly fell in love with Amelia...she was thrown so many curveballs and kept pushing forward till she got what she was destined to have. Parker is s great guy and as soon as he realizes that he can move on and it does not change anything about what he had with his dead wife, he realizes his dreams with Amelia. Loved the relationship between the moms!!!
I will highly recommend this book to everyone!!!!!

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Amelia Buxton caught her husband cheating when she arrived home from work early. Her childhood friend Parker lost his wife Greer to cancer three years ago. While investigating a story, Amelia finds out that Greers embryos are considered abandoned. This book was compelling 1

Parker and Amelia have been friends since before they were born. Their parents are not only neighbors but best friends. So Amelia decided that Parker was her best friend.
Parker grows up and marries Greer, the girl whom other girls looked up to, admired, worshipped and wanted to be ! Unfortunately Greer loses her battle with cancer.
Fast forward 3 years and Amelia discovers that Greer and Parker have frozen embryos that are listed as abandoned. This reconnects Amelia and Parker
For Parker she’s the one that got away, for Amelia she feels she will only ever be second choice.
This is about first loves, second chances, family secrets and leaps of faith that only this author can write.
Told by varying points of view as only Kristy Woodson Harvey can write, you will laugh and cry and fall in love !

Amelia's marriage is over. I liked the characters. I liked the descriptions, and dialogue. I was interested to see what would happen. Amelia's divorce is not average.
