Somehow I missed the fact that this book was a spin off from another series when I requested it. Still, it is a first volume in this new series. This was a decent urban fantasy. Anyone looking for a romantic book will likely enjoy this.

This is Emma and Bren's story. Emma wants her love ever after, just like her Sisters have. Only one problem. She seems to pick the wrong guys to go out with, (aka. jerks and assholes). Bren and Emma have been  friends since he joined the pack. She really likes him, but she doesn't  think it would go anywhere  beyond friendship.  After her disaster of a  night with her current date, she has to throw him out of a window, she goes to the bar where Bren works. She gets a feeling that something or someone  is following or stalking her. She feels that her stalker is pure evil. When she gets to the bar she sits at the bar.

She engages Bren in conversation and is caught off guard when he unexpectedly  gives her a mind mind blowing  kiss. Thier kis is inevitably  interrupted when a pack member informs Bren that a pack member has been killed, dismembered and eaten on. Bren and Emma go to the scene to check it out. The body happens to be Emma's asshole of a date. He is definitely has Ben dismembered and parts eaten on. Now Drwn and Emma must solve this grisly  murder, before one of them becomes the next meal. Oh, and try to figure out what Bren's kiss means, and if there is more to come. I really enjoyed this story.  I give Touck of Evil 5/5 stars.

I have not read any other books from this series. The author did a pretty good job of trying to get the reader up to where we are now. Emme is shy and quiet but the book was not bad and I enjoyed the story. I may goo back and start from the beginning and read these in order. I, personally, just don't like to start a series in the middle every often. The characters made me giggle sometimes and laugh out load others. I think the author writes very well. *This book was given to me for free at my request from NetGalley and I provided this voluntary review.*

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. It has been along time for this book and the four sister to step out of the shadows of her older sisters who have already found their forever loves and mates. Emme has never had luck with males and getting what she is looking for seems impossible. The characters in this book amazing and full of personality and dimension. It is crazy and weird but that made me love it even more. It got me all up in my feeling and get very investing in how things would turn out. You want to know you going to have to read it yourself. It is worth the read.

I received a copy of the book from Netgalley to review. Thank you for the opportunity.
A no holds back, powerful heroine who bursts from the pages, right from page one. A sweet love story and some supernatural creatures make for an extremely readable story.
A good read.

This was the first of the Wird Sister books I have read. You can read it as a book on its own - but it will definitely leave you wanting to read more! It's a lovely story, with a good strong female lead and plenty of action with a bit of romance simmering alone for good measure

This is the first book in the Weird Girls series that starts Emme and Bren’s story, or at least a look into what they’re putting themselves through. I have to be honest in saying she’s the sister I was least looking forward to reading, only because she’s the quiet, peacekeeping one and gives the air of damsel in distress. She’s not one, but that’s just her outward appearance. This is the first book in this series (at least that I can remember) where the author also gives the male’s POV. I think my only up-front problem is that this book came out a few months after Taren’s last book but takes place before it. Not that it was a real problem, it actually helps explain their personal attitudes during that book, it was a just a little annoying.
I think this author does an excellent job in giving all four sisters unique personalities to match their powers as well as unique situations that they tend to get thrown in. I still loved this book and liked the further character arc of Emme. It helped to remind me that Emme can absolutely handle herself and that Bren needs to open his eyes! I can’t wait for the next story in this series. I recommend.

I haven't read all of the Weird Girls series, so was a little hesitant about reading this one in case I had missed too much from the previous books, but there was enough background information to reveal enough of what I needed to know without bogging the story down too much.

Emme is the youngest of the four sisters and a powerful telekinetic, but being small and young looking for her age, she finds people often underestimate her, which definitely worked to her advantage in this book. She's gentle, kind and sweet, but when she needs to be she can play the hard ass almost as well as her sisters!

On a date night, the werewolf she's out with tries to dominate her and she reacts back by throwing him out of the window! He definitely underestimated her! Later on that same night, the werewolf's body is found and Bren, acting as the werewolf pack alpha, whilst the alpha, Emme's brother-in-law is on vacation, takes Emme from his bar where she had popped in, to find out what is going on. What they discover is a heap of creepiness and together they have to fight the "Touch of Evil" and survive the night. I really loved how they worked together to battle this big bad, both trying to protect each other. This big bad was another who underestimated what Emme was really capable of - I loved the way she fought back against it!

The big bad idea was brilliant, yet disturbing at the same time and I loved the way the "creatures" were described.

The romance side of this book was just sweet, loving and really felt like first love, which I guess it was for both of them. I hope the ending is really not the ending for them both though as it broke my heart just a little to read it! I can't wait to read the next book in this series and see where Emme and Bren go next!

I’ve been a long time fan of the Wird sisters and all their various adventures and shenanigans. It’s been nice to get stories from all the sisters so naturally I was happy to read about Emme and see what she got up to stepping out of the shadows of her sisters. Naturally I wasn’t disappointed I love the series as a whole and am a big fan of the author’s work. Naturally I’ll be happily reading anything else she writes.

Cecy Robson did it again! Touch of Evil, The first novel from Emme Wird's POV is out and now that I have finished it left me wanting more. Now for those of you who are wondering, doesn't take pick up after the events in Of Flame and Fury. Instead, it takes place between Of Flame and Light and Of Flame and Fate.

The novel starts off with Emme Wird, the healer and telekinetic of the Wird sisters, having a date. Unlike her sisters who have found their mates and are happily married, Emme hasn't had the same luck. The date ends horribly and Emme decided to head over to Bren Cooper's bar to salvage the night. Bren has been a friend of her family for years but Emme is interested in something more than friendship. Unfortunately, Bren Cooper's not having that due to his past and previous life of being a rogue. Sadly, the night ends in a sour note when the pack member that was Emme's date is found dismembered. Now it's up to Emme and Bren to solve the murder while both becoming closer to each other as the attraction grows.

Overall, Touch of Evil was a wonderful intro to Emme and Bren's story. This novel also explains a lot of the tense interactions that we saw of Emme and Bren in Of Flame and Fate and Of Flame and Fury. I was also suprised of Emme's POV. I always saw her as shy and quiet one among her sisters but here we see a new side of her. As for Bren, let's just say I'm looking forward to his reading his and Emme's story.

Touch of Evil is my second book by Cecy Robson, and my first book reading about the Wird sisters, and I enjoyed it immensely!
Coming into an existing series at book 10 is cray-cray but it wasn't so bad in this particular case... Touch of Evil is book one in Emme's series which just so happens to be part of the larger series so don't be put off! Everything you need to know about the world to understand the world, and characters, and what's going on is in this book. The only thing is you inevitably get spoilers for the earlier books in the Weird Girls series from reading this one... This doesn't bother me personally but I know it will others.

I found Emme to be likeable and a bit of a contradiction. She comes across as so quiet and sweet, like someone in need of protecting, but she's really quite formidable and fierce. I adored her relationship with Bren and found myself wanting to know much more about him - he's funny - as well as her relationship with her sisters. I enjoyed hearing about Emme's sisters and their mates but I'm guessing that I'll need to read the earlier books in the overarching series to get a lot of the info I want when it comes to them all... It's a minor niggle though. I knew what I was getting into when picking the book up.

Touch of Evil is easy to devour in one sitting. The story flows smoothly, has a nice mystery to solve, some action, some romance and some laughs but it very much felt like an introduction to something bigger. It was a book that was setting the scene for the next big battle in the world of the Wird sisters as well as paving the way for Emme and Bren to have a happy ever after.

With its mix of paranormal romance and urban fantasy, Touch of Evil was a hit for me and I'm excited to see what happens next!

Touch of Evil, by author Cecy Robson, starts a new chapter in the Weird Sister series. (Amazon is calling this Weird Girls Touch). Touch of Evil begins Emme Wird's thread, but it also includes Bren Cooper who has spent most of his life being a rogue and friends with all four Wird sisters. According to my research, the timeline for this book takes place between Of Flame and Light and Of Flame and Fate. Emme as the youngest Wird sister is the compassionate one. She's a nurse, she's got powerful telepathic abilities, but unlike her sisters, she hasn't found her life mate yet.

Emme started playing the field and having lots of one-night stands that fizzle out quickly after feeling ignored by Bren. Soon after another date goes unfulfilled, Emme feels as though something dangerous is stalking her and heads for the only place where she believes she can be safe. Emme and her sisters have turned the world upside down since their arrival to the Lake Tahoe area. Bad guys see the sisters as a threat that needs to be taken care of before they can take over the world. The paranormal world sees Emme as the weak link in the family, but the only one able to save Celia if anything happened to her.

Therefore, they end up targeting Emme for elimination to get to Celia's unborn baby that is fated to stop evil and save the world. Bren is also one of the best trackers around. He is also bartender for a place called the Watering Hole where other paranormals hang out alongside humans. After Emme's one-night stand turns up devoured, and signs of dead bodies popping up across Nevada, Bren and Emme attempt to hunt down those responsible. Emme ends up being captured and nearly killed. But Bren isn't going to allow anything to happen to Bren. Not if he must dig his way into hell itself to bring Emme back to him.

Without indulging in any further spoilers, I will say that Bren and Emme have been dancing around each other for a long time now. It is time to put up or shut up or move on. What has been holding Bren back so long that he's never taken the next step? Is it because of Celia and her sisters? Is it because Bren's wolf is plain stubborn as a mule and can't see what's right in front of him? This book is fairly short and ends on a hopeful note. Yes, there's some action scenes involving both Emme and Bren. But there's also something added at the end that will make fans of this series happy.

I have been waiting for this book FOREVER!! Out of the Wird sisters Emme is my second favorite after Celia, and Bren is my second favorite wolf after Aric so I’m quite excited that they will finally (hopefully!) end up as mates! At first glance they are quite the opposites-Emme is shy, kind and loving while Bren is bold, cheeky but devoted to those who he considers his pack including the sisters and his best friend Danny. As we all know, the road to true love is never smooth and Emme has had quite a few bumps and potholes along the way. The loss of her former boyfriend-but-not-mate Liam and watching her sisters find their happiness has left her adrift and wanting to find her true love.

As the story begins, Emme is on a date with a decent werewolf who may be the one…but actually he’s not either of those things. Instead she is lured into the apartment of Ted, a werewolf new to the Tahoe area that has the distinction of not only being a jerk, but one with three testicles. How do we (and Emme) know this? Because he has no problem showing off his junk in an attempt to get the youngest of the Wird sisters in his bed, thinking he’s doing her a favor. Bad, enormously bad call dude! (Sorry, channeling my inner Shayna there!) Being new to the area as I said, Ted isn’t familiar with Emme’s force but he discovers it when she throws him out the window without touching him. At the same time this is all going down (pun intended), Emme senses something else in Ted’s apartment; a malevolent presence full of hatred, though Emmy can’t tell where the feeling is originating.

After she leaves Ted’s hell hovel Emme ends up at the Watering Hole, the bar where Bren works as a bartender. Their relationship has been strained for reasons Emme doesn’t quite understand, but she’s been harboring a crush on him for years. But WE know that it’s because Bren has been attracted to her for a long time, though he’s held himself back as he feels like he isn’t a worthy match for her. Things happen though and they end in an intense match of tonsil hockey at the bar and everything is happily ever after! Right? Wrong. Remember that feeling of evil Emme had back in Testes Ted’s apartment? When he is found torn to pieces on the beach, Emme and Bren realize that there is something on the loose in Tahoe and they are forced to team up in order to take it down and save themselves before it is too late. Then, action ensues! Lots and lots of action! (Of many kinds, heh heh heh!)

The newest romp in the Weird Girls universe is a fast-paced adventure that takes the readers back to the supernatural Tahoe that we have grown to love over the years. The best part of Cecy’s books is that she always imbues them with plenty of action and heart, with a huge helping of humor to balance it out. While Bren adds his usual mix of sarcasm and wit, I must say that some of my favorite parts occur ‘off-camera’ from Shayna. (Personally I’m never looking at a container of Quaker Oats in quite the same way again!) As I’ve mentioned previously these are books that should really be read in order to get the full experience of the universe Cecy has created, and trust me you won’t regret the time!

Thank you to Cecy and Netgalley for the chance to read this early; I’ll be over here in my corner just waiting to find out what happens next!

When not fighting evils, will they battle their reciprocated feelings ...

When I saw it was first in a series, I decided why not. And while it is true is the first book about Emme’s story, it is in fact I think the third series turning around the Wird siblings. Two of her sisters already got their, now it is Emme and there is one left.
All the main characters were introduced in previous books, and while I lacked some background informations, it didn’t impede my reading.
The author delivers a fun read, full of actions with a very unique world. She gives her paranormal beings an uniqueness I do not often see.
Emme is the quiet, shy sister, so much she is viewed a meek and weak. She has none of her sisters “badassness” but when rightly motivated or angered, she can hold her head high and gives as much as she receives.
Bren, he has a dedicated novella as I searched a bit, he is lone wolf but made friend with the siblings. And until recently, Emme was the little girl to protect. Something clicked and changed, he does not see her any more as a kid, and the games he wants to play with her as not set child’s eyes.

This book is the first in Emme and Bren’s story, the pawns are now set on the board, up to them to move the pieces rightly.
And while it ends without a HEA, there is hope for the next book.
4 stars

I was granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.

Emme Wird had a long journey to her story. She's the last Wird sister unmated and looking for love in all the wrong places. She's always been in the background of her sisters adventures as healer and general support. This time is different. With her sisters unavailable, Emme has a chance to shine. Her healing is only one of her skills.

The book starts when a bad date leads to hijinks and discovered love. Sometimes it's the one in front of you all along.

Bottom line - Liked it. Will read the next book. Better if have read other Weird Girls series by Cecy Robson.

I don’t even know how I want to start this other than saying I LOVED it. I do wish it was longer, a teensy bit short, but otherwise it’s gold.

I have followed this series since book one and have eagerly awaited each and every book after and this one just did it for me. I always liked Emme. She was sweet and quiet but I love this side to her. The vulnerable and confident side to her.

Her sisters are usually the ones who get into a lot of trouble but this time around something wants Emme. She can’t understand why anyone would want her for any reason, she’s just there in the background but you take out the healing factor, you get access to Celia.

It seems that all the stories after Celia’s are still about Celia. While that is true, this one is totally focused on Emme... and Bren. She knows what she wants and if you think about it, she has always gone after it. Bren is no different and she is 100% willing to break down his walls.

When Emme goes on a date and it goes wrong, she finds herself in even bigger trouble that she realizes and Bren isn’t having any of that. He has always seen her as a “kid” and now his eyes are wide open. He just doesn’t want to admit it.

Emme is just so sweet and she is the PERFECT match for Bren! When she was with Liam she never questioned herself and I love that she is the same way with Bren. She may be shy but she’s super confident all the same! She knows who she is and what she wants and she’ll do anything to protect those she loves. Signature Wird girl move.

This is definitely a great side to her and I’m glad she’s getting her time to shine! Can’t wait for more!!

Well damn, this was absolutely exciting, a little bit sexy and whole lot of amazing pages. Of course I wish this could have been a few hundred more pages. Then to leave me off like that, I can’t say exactly that it’s cliffhanger, but there is definitely some dangling.

Emme is the younger sister in her family. Her magic as a healer and telekinetic is less flashy than her sister’s gifts. She is the quiet and gentle sister. Her feelings for Bren are brought forth when they fight an enemy together. He fights the attraction because of her youth and his fear of disturbing his friendship with the family. I have not read other books in this series and plan to rectify this error soon! I always enjoy reading strong female characters that are self reliant. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
