Cat Ninja is a nice middle grade graphic novel full of animal superheroes having madcap adventures. It is split up into 5 sections that could make it a good read-along with parents for bedtime for the younger crowd as well.

Super fun story with larger text for those with reading needs. I like how Epic! creates fun storylines that help both advanced and struggling readers meet their literacy goals. Having stories with illustrations for younger readers that read a little more advanced is very much needed in the market! Thanks for the free ARC from NetGalley.

The plot of this book is basically what you would expect based on the title. It's mostly straightforward ninja adventures with a slight hint of interpersonal issues resolved. A simple adventure with just a little bit more.

This graphic novel was a lot of fun. What appears to be an ordinary house cat, is really a Cat Ninja is disguise. And one his nemesis, Master Hamster, is his house mate. What type of trouble can these two get into, and how much of the world can they save. Only the bounds of imagination know. Throw in Adonis the dog, and these adventures will have kids laughing and reading up a storm.

Prose (Story): Claude is an ordinary gray cat living a good life with his eleven-year-old boy owner and the kid's family in Metro City. But whenever danger strikes. Claude dons the costume of his alter ego - Cat Ninja! - and strikes out into the city against the forces of evil, using all the skills he learned as a kitten from his revered old ninja master. In volume one of a projected series, Cat Ninja takes on several foes - none so deadly as Master Hamster, who in his alter ego is "Mr. Squeaks", the pet of Claude's owner's young sister - before realizing a bigger enemy with much dire plans looms on the horizon; one he and Mr. Squeaks may have to work together to vanquish!

Don's (Review): Mind you, this is from a dog person: I love this book! Reading like part chapter book and part graphic novel, Cat Ninja's Cartoon Network-worthy artwork by Yehudi Mercado combines perfectly with the snarky, often very funny one-liners and jokes from the mind of writer Matthew Cody. Kids will love the story and characters, as well as the look of the book's colorful and lively palette, but adults reading it to them (or even for themselves) should also take equal pleasure from the characters and story being "in on the joke" even while taking things seriously - which of course makes things even funnier. I loved this one so much, soon as I was finished reading it I read it again; it's one of those books that, when you finish it, you'll wish you could run out and buy ten copies of, just to give each away to someone you love, who could use both a good story and a good laugh. 4.5/5stars

Cat Ninja is so much cuter than it has the right to be. The humor, the action, the art is just top notch. I got major Phineas and Ferb vibes, which is amazing because I love that show. So if you are like me, then you will definitely enjoy this.

This was a really cute middle grade graphic novel about a cat, who is a house cat by day, and a superhero named "Cat Ninja" by night, and his main nemesis is the hamster owned by the sister of his owner. It was so cute and reminded me a lot of the story line of "Perry the Platypus" from "Phineas and Ferb". It was really enjoyable.

I thank Netgalley for the digital ARC.

Cat Ninja is another favorite graphic novel in our house. My 9 year old daughter was caught giggling several times and read half the book before I even finished making dinner. My 7 year old son can’t wait for her to finish so he can read it too. The art is fantastic and the laughs are plentiful.

I had a great time reading this book. Each chapter has this cat facing another baddie, and no two were alike. As this story moved forward, it looked like someone truly nefarious may have returned. They were out for revenge, and wished to cause harm to the owners of these pets. As this story comes to a close, we see them work together to save those they care about. Most readers will have a lot of fun reading this book.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this novel.

I loved this book! The illustrations are excellent and the storyline is great. My feedback for this graphic novel for children is twofold — the vocab choices are a bit advanced in my opinion, but I do not see that necessarily as a bad thing. Secondly, I enjoyed the cute illustrations. I think they go well with the story. Ultimately, I would recommend this to a grade 4 or higher.

Cat Ninja is the perfect elementary grade graphic novel. It's bright, exciting, action packed, the graphics are great, and the story is exciting. I love the variety of characters. It's also great that it's broken up into "chapters", it makes for a fun bedtime story.

Honestly, I was pretty sure I would like Cat Ninja because of the creative team's previous works and also the concept. I mean, a cat who is also a ninja? Yes, thank you. I was not at all disappointed! The art was absolutely gorgeous and bright and the story was even more fun than anticipated. Kids are going to love Cat Ninja and parents will also get a kick out of some of the jokes (crime lord Elan Mollusk caused me to burst out laughing!).

I thought that this book was brilliant!

I thought that this was a great little read and I loved that the story was split into sections so that I could read one section a night with my daughter and it build up the suspension to see how Cat Ninja would get on against the pesky villains!

The characters were well developed and I loved the variety of cats, dogs and rodents involved! They were great and I loved it - it is 5 stars from me for this one, fabulous illustrations and a fun read too – very highly recommended!!

I really enjoyed this comic. I loved the concept of a cat ninja and a mastermind guinea pig. The execution was fun. The illustrations were spot on and very colorful. Such an enjoyable read. Thank you for the opportunity.

Disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

My daughter is a big fan of graphic novels for kids. I chose this book thinking it might be a fun book for me to read to her. The graphics were colourful and great, the dialogue and plot were both funny, unfortunately there were too much unique vocabulary in this book for her. In the first page, it already used words such as feeble, diabolical, fiendish, reign, meme, etc.

I would still recommend it to older kids in grade 3- 4 and older.

Cat Ninja is a great story that has been put together from smaller stories found on Epic's website that is used by my elementary ages son. He had already read a few of the "chapters" as single short stories and really enjoyed the bonus scene and having them all in one place.

Five kinetic and gaudily coloured comics for the very young get turned into an Epic! Book, in my first taste of something from them that debuted on their website and not as an original. It's all reasonably serviceable, with a superhero cat solving crime and defeating the baddies – including the hamster belonging to his owner's sister. That's unfortunate, for their madcap scarpering can be a little too Tom and Jerry at times, so it's when the hamster is elsewhere and there are different baddies to be bested that these come into their own. They do all seem rather simplistic, mind – I think the declaration on the Epic! website that this is for the eight-to-ten age range rather depressing and pessimistic.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read and review.

I am always looking for fun and engaging graphic novels for my classroom. The students I work with cannot get enough of them. I know that Cat Ninja will be a hit. It has great illustrations, a super funny story line, and hilarious characters.

I recommend this for grades 3 - 5, although really anyone would enjoy it!
