A family saga that spans from 1903 to 1968 mostly in Louisiana and Texas.
In the 60s Mercy and Annie are best friends. That's a problem because one is white and the other is black. Gradually we learn their family history, a quite special history at that. Babies given away, fathers with two families, a child captivated by a voodoo priestess,....
It's an interesting story shedding some light on the craziness and stupidity of racism.
