A gentle book that softly extols the virtues of peace and the myriad of ways it can achieved. I love the messages!
Simply stated illustrations are perfect for the brief wordplay on the pages.
Everything about the book flows perfectly and will make an excellent bedtime read.
“Peace is a pillow that softens our sleep.”
Oh my, I LOVE this story! I love the message, I love the illustrations. Simply put, Peace is a story little minds can understand and learn about how your choices influence others, as well as yourself. I love that this book creates an opening for me to expand and reflect at various parts to my two little guys. Meanwhile, they had plenty to look at while listening to me elaborate a bit more. Now, I’m off to pre-order Peace!
I read an early digital copy of this book, and will buy one for my children once it is released. The text is simple, but the message of peace is powerful. It is complimented by colorful illustrations of children of many skin tones and some cute animals.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a digital copy of this book to review.
I found the illustrations in this book really beautiful and the colour palette was bright and vibrant. The writing had an engaging rhythm and my 4 year old son was captivated by the story. I think the message of peace is always important, but maybe even more so in these difficult and trying times. Would definitely recommend.
This is a wonderful book. I love the text of the book. But the pictures are also great. They are so beautiful and colorful and they would capture a child's attention!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read and review.
This book is filled with simple language describing what peace is. The gentle rhyme and calming pictures makes the reader slow down and really absorb the message. This will make a wonderful addition to my classroom library.
A lovely book about the elements and power of peace in the world. Includes diverse characters (in skin color and abilities).
**I received an e-ARC from NetGalley for an honest review**
I really liked the rhyming of the book.
Pretty colors and I like the world unity feel to the characters, but unfortunately, at times, the illustrations felt overcrowded and too busy. There was so much going on that it took away from the book.
Overall, 4/5 stars and something I could see on most bookshelves.
Peace by Miranda and Baptiste Paul is a simple, but powerful picture book to guide readers of all ages to recognize small tokens of peace. The authors' note at the end also explains the impact of non-peaceful times on animals, which could be the catalyst for some remarkable conversations and inquiry-based learning. I highly recommend this lovely picture book and look forward to adding it to my libraries when it is released.
