Not for me. I was drawn in by the cover. I should have researched a little bit about the author because I soon realized I have not been able to get into any books by R.J. I gave up very fast. Nothing to draw me in or keep me there. Tried skimming ahead a few times to farther in the book and still couldn't get into it.

I really enjoyed this book it has kind of a different plot. I was immediately sucked into the narrative. I would call it a psychological thriller. I highly recommend it

Richard J Parker returns with his latest addictive thriller which is the captivating tale of how a ordinary woman, after innocently knocking on the door of a isolated house finds herself caught up in the twisted mind games of a charming but narcissistic killer.

Leah Talbot's life is not a happy one,her marriage to her husband Elliot in on the rocks and her beloved father's brain and memories are being destroyed by dementia. And now, after a accident involving a wet road and a deer, Leah has found herself being tormented by some sick psycho who keeps killing innocent people and manipulating Leah's movements to ensure that she finds herself at the crime scenes. I really liked Leah, she was a feisty, strong willed, loyal individual who's life was over shadowed by a tragic incident in her past.A tragedy that she was constantly being reminded of due to her father's dementia. It is a really horrible affliction and one that I honestly live in fear of as I get older. The author's depictions of Leah's father's confusion and reactions were very realistic and some of the interactions between the two character's were heart breaking. I can't say that I thought Elliot was a very likeable character for various reasons. And as for the killer omg that guy was seriously creepy, he was so chillingly sinister and manipulative. His attempts to brainwash Leah reminded me of Julie's conversion scene for the iconic tv mini series V. I can definitely say, with absolute certainty that he is my number one bad guy of this year.

I really really love Richard J Parker's brilliant thrillers and The Good Neighbour was no exception. It's extremely well written, hooks the reader in from the first page, keeps you glued to your kindle and frantically turning the pages. Once I started reading it,I couldn't put it down and I read the whole book in one sitting. It's not a twist packed story but the plot does contain a number of unexpected suprises. I would love to watch a film adaptation of one of this talented author's extremely outstanding thrillers. Worth all the stars and more and very very highly recommended.
