Danielle Steel always writes a compelling story with just the right amount of everything else, including intrigue and romance. This story proves her ability and is just a great story to read and fall into.
I read this book in 2 days. It was so good. Danielle Steel does not disappoint. I loved all the different characters in this book. Thanks Net Galley!
The life of Meredith White changed drastically along with her neighbors the night an earthquake rocks San Francisco. Her house is the lone edifice that survives and reluctantly she opens her doors to her neighbors. She has lived here over a decade and still has little to no sense of her neighbors , their lives or stories. All of that changes as her home becomes a refugee point both literally and figuratively. As the days revolve around a city and it’s people emerging from a natural catastrophe. Meredith also rises in spirit and resolve. No longer bound to this beautiful house, she sets her course and finds new life with these neighbors and their stories. A wonderful rendition of renewal.
I am first going to start by just letting the world know that I don't read Danielle Steel books. This one was my first. I enjoyed it, and it had a good cast of characters, but the story fell flat for me, and it felt long, It was a slow burn book, and overall I enjoyed it,
Thank you NetGalley.
Filled with powerful human dramas, Neighbors is a penetrating look at how our world can be upended in a moment. In a novel of unforgettable characters and stunning twists, acts of love and courage become the most powerful forces of all.
This one hit so many of the marks I set for a must read. I loved the characters and the story. I needed more from Meredith.
This one was okay. I know a lot of people eat her books up, but I guess I’m just not the intended audience. It just didn’t hit the mark for me.
Great book. What would you do if a tornado hit your town,? Would you share your life with the people around you..
Thank you net galley
A devastating earthquake rocks this neighborhood to its very core. Danielle Steel always manages to take one of life’s tragedies and uses it to draw new life and new beginnings from it.

Mix in an actress, a mansion and secretes this book has everything a Danielle Steel novel is known for. She never disappoints and always rewards us with a book that pulls the reader in.

Thank you #randomhouse and #NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review
Whenever I read Danielle Steele I can count on a few things. A strong, but somehow damaged main character, interesting characters around her, a love story, and a happy ending. This book had all that and I enjoyed it!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I actually really enjoyed this book. I loved how all the characters merged together and became friends. I would definitely recommend this book.
This is a Women's Fiction book. Meredith White use to be an actress, but after her husband cheat on her and her son’s death. She become a shut in and cut herself off from everyone but her live-in housekeepers for companionship. Then an earthquake hits where she lives, and Meredith decides to go out and help her neighbors by taking them into her house. We follow Meredith, but we also learns/follow the neighbors that Meredith takes in. Normally, I do not love following so many characters, but this book is written so well that everything flows together and it is easy to follow. I think having so many characters made this book so great. This book was character driven, but the storyline/plot was really good as well. The book was very well-written. There was enough drama and life events in this book that makes you want to keep reading. This book pulled me in for the beginning and it kept me wanting to keep reading, and I had to finish it last night which means I was reading until 2 am. I loved this book so much. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Delacorte Press) or author (Danielle Steel) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
I've been a big fan of Danielle Steel since I was 20- years old. It's been awhile since I have read one of her books and it was like coming home.
Although her storylines are typically predictable and you can count on a happy ending, I still enjoyed the book and it made me smile.
Ms. Steele never disappoints! A beautiful and heartwarming story that will leave you wanting more! Fantastic characters and storyline that instantly takes you away and into this book! A perfect escape and I look forward to reading more books by This author.
Another homerun by Danielle Steel. This one features a recluse woman who opens her home after a devestating earthquake. She was not always a recluse. She used to be an actress. She was dealt a lot of blows back to back with an unfaithful husband and the death of her son. I love how she left the comfort of her home, found those that needed help and learned their stories. Bravo Ms. Steel.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.
I haven’t read a Danielle Steele in a long time so wanted to give this one a shot.
Meredith White used to be a famous movie star, until the death of her son drove her home and left her a recluse for 15 years. When her neighborhood suffers an earthquake, she decides to open the doors of her mansion and provide shelter for her neighbors. Her decision leads to life-altering changes for all of them.
The storyline in this book was fine. As you might expect, there’s a bit of a love story and everyone gets a happy ending. There are some tough themes, particularly domestic abuse, but that also resolves itself.
My problem with the book is that I actually didn’t love the writing or the storytelling. Many of the chapters gave repetitive exposition, and the book felt like it was written with no emotion. I didn’t love any of the characters, I didn’t empathize with them, I didn’t get sad for them. The book didn’t leave me feeling much of anything. I honestly was a bit disappointed; I had expected much more based on my experiences with Steel’s older novels (older meaning 10+ years ago).
This one was fine but not one I would read again. I also don’t feel inclined to pick up any of her other books after reading this one.
This was my first Danielle steel book and boy was I not dissapointed. Steel has this amazing story telling ability that just keeps you pulled in the entire time. Meredith white was once an amazing actress but following her sons death and her husbands infidelity she becomes a shut in and refuses to leave her home and allows very few to enter. This book is a beautiful story that follows not only meridith but all of her neighbhors that she takes into her home following a deathly earthquake in the torwn. I love the multiple POV's it really keeps the story going and makes you want to keep gonig after every chapter.
Danielle Steel can do no wrong. No one can weave a plot like she can! What is it about reclusive characters? It's eerie and fascinating. I loved every page.
I use to read this author in my 20s and absolutely love Danielle Steel. Now, at 46, I am so happy to have this authors book back in my hands. This novel did not disappoint and after all these years, its still like I have fallen in love with Danielle Steel's work all over again.
Neighbors by Danielle Steel was a well written book. You will cry at some of the writing especially the abuse parts. I loved Meredith and Charles romance.
I did not enjoy this book but I will rate the effort of the author to write this novel. I am a reader of Danielle Steel am always looking fora break out novel
