I was recommended to listen to her podcast and I love it! Tara-Leigh Cobble has a great way of explaining the bible verses that just stick and make sense. I like have this book in print so I can look up a particular verse and see it. Thanks to Net Galley and Bethany House for the ARC of this book. I will recommend it to our patrons.

I found this an interesting read because I am in the process of reading through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Although I have read through the Bible previously, I have spent more time focusing on single books. However, like the author, I have found that reading single books, while providing truth, does not give the full picture. So, the author’s plan is to help the reader learn, over the course of a year, to find, see, and know God and His character resulting in a deeper spiritual relationship.

The plan proposed by the author is a chronological one that takes the reader through Scripture as it happened. Along with this plan, the author recommends journaling as part of the process and a link is provided to give access to additional resources.

In addition, the daily readings provide background information to assist the reader in getting a fuller picture of the Scripture reading. Then, a summary section called “Today’s God Shot” is given at the conclusion of each day.

As I read some of the days’ readings, I found the information presented in a way that is simple, clear, as well as thought-provoking. I believe that others seeking a deeper spiritual relationship with God will definitely find this book to be helpful in achieving that goal. This book would even make a great gift.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book provided by the publisher and Net Galley. However, the thoughts expressed are totally my own.

I enjoyed this book. Easy to follow and understand. Will be gifting this book. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the arc of this book in return for my honest opinion. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on this review.

I first heard of the Bible Recap and Tara-Leigh Cobble from the Happy Hour Podcast with Jaime Ivy. Since then I have enjoyed following along with her ministry. Tara-Leigh has a heart to see men and women read the whole Bible. She has created a chronological reading plan, a podcast and now a book,he Bible Recap: A One-Year Guide to Reading and Understanding the Entire Bible. The book is similar to a collection of transcripts of her recaps from her podcast. This is a great resource for those that are reading the Bible through and want some additional content. The chapters for each day are short and easy to understand. I really enjoyed the God Shots for each day where she shows us where we can see God in the passages.

I am thankful for Tara-Leigh’s heart for biblical literacy and her dedication to helping others read the whole canon of scripture. This will make a great addition to your daily Bible reading and your library.

I was blessed to receive an electronic copy via the NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I love bible recap. I hadn’t heard of the author before but now I’m going to get her podcasts. I love how she describes the verses in a easy to read manner. I have been reading bible a day books for awhile, because it seems that the best way for me to read without getting overwhelmed. This book is great for anyone who loves reading the Bible or is just starting out. I will for sure buy this book when it is published.

I am a big fan of Tara-Leigh Cobble and The Bible Recap. I was very excited to see it in print form. This will be a resource and Bible reading plan I will be using again and again. I listened to The Bible Recap podcast, and the book follows the same format, just in print form and a little more condensed. The reading for each day is listed on top. This is followed by the commentary and insight into the days reading, ending with the Godshot for the day. I love TLC's daily reminder that the Bible is not about us. It is about God. This is a great reading plan and resource for anyone who wants to grow in his or her faith and be in the word of God every day!

This will obviously take me a year to get through but I did read some things and look at the set and I loved it. I felt the material was easy to digest and very well-organized. I can't wait for this to be published so I can write in the margins and really highlight the things on paper, etc.

"This book is dedicated to every person who has tried and failed countless times to read the Bible, who has almost given up on understanding God and His Word, and who is here, trying one more time..." I love this thought, and I already love this book. I have actually read through the Bible for each of the last 5 years or so, but at times it has felt like an obligation or simply a goal to achieve. This book will provide freshness as I plan to re-launch another read-through in 2021. I tested out the reading for today - day 240 - and it provides much context and time-line to the suggested chapters for the day and then makes application for the reader. So helpful. The down-side would be that to read through the Bible, another book or device is required as the Bible content is not included in the book. That is actually a positive though since many readers will have different version preferences and allows this book to work for all. So while I have not yet read the whole book, I've looked at it enough to know this will be part of my read-through-the-Bible in 2021 strategy and plan. I try to use a different approach each year - so this is perfect timing. I will likely need my own physical copy! In fact I've already pre-ordered.
