Delphi and Adam have a history that left Delphi hungry for revenge, But things change and a true love blossoms. But never does the journey for HEA run smooth. And when Adam and Delphi discover the dangerous Jacobite plot to assassinate King George his brother Frederick is involved in and their happiness is threatened, they will have to find the true villain and stop them. Easier said than done with so many twists and turns, but thankfully, they stay true to their love and the fight for their HEA!

I read the last book in the series, which is this one before I read the others and enjoyed it so much I had to go back and read the other 3.

Delphi is one of a set of triplets, who is on a trip to Italy with the Duke of Trensom and his second wife Matilda.

In her last season in England, she was courted by Adam, the Duke of Kilteith, when he suddenly disappears overnight, Delphi feels humiliated, as everyone knows he has left without declaring himself.

She is licking her wounds by enjoying Italy and studying the monuments and enjoying the culture, together with the Trensom's daughters and their governess.

She goes out without them one day and is busy at Trajan's Column, when she is seized and kissed by Adam. Suspected of treason because of his Jacobite supporting father, Adam is in Rome to try and find his younger brother Frederick, a soldier who has gone missing. never expecting to see Delphi, he has tried to keep her out of the intrigue he has been pulled into, but can't resist when he sees her unexpectedly.

When Trensom, now attaché to Rome, says that Delphi must keep away from Adam, as he is under suspicion of treason, Delphi refuses, sh is determined to challenge Adam and hopefully rrove his innocence. they both get swept up in other people's machinations, can they clear Adam's name and get their HEA.

I loved this, Delphi was interesting and intrepid, Adam dashing, yet misguided in trying to protect Delphi from real life problems. When Lord Joshua Stuart, his much older brother and Lady Elizabeth also turn up to embroil Delphi and Adam in their schemes, the plot thickens and intrigues abound.

This is an entertaining and involved story with a couple of lovely leads. I went back and read all of the previous books on the strength of this one, so very well recommended.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and all opinions are my own.

A Whisper of Treason, by Lynne Connolly. Readers out there I really enjoyed this book. This is the first book that I have read by this author, and I have to tell you that the writer did not disappoint me at all. From the moment Delphi had her panic attack in the book I was hooked. The details and description of scenes played well with my imagination.
Easily, I was able to visualize scenes from the book in my mind while reading. The entertainment was very exciting and cringe worthy. From the balls, to the restaurants and walks through the villages of Rome, the writer captivated me with the abundance of information from Rome’s culture. Some where in the mist of all this, the writer shared a cute romantic love story between Delphi and Adam. Trying to build a new life for herself, Delphi accompanies her dearest friend Matilda and her new husband Tresmond on a trip to Rome.
Little did they all know that this trip would change their lives in so many ways. Labeled as a traitor to England, even though he’s Scottish, Adam takes on secret missions to find truth to the rumors. Not able to get one of the most important people out of his mind, Adam fights to protect Delphi from the evil that lands at his doorstep. Delphi, works through her indecision’s on life and what she feels is best for her. During this Lord Joshua has her decision already made without her.
With this swords are drawn. People are called to be met a dawn. A murder has happened in the streets of London. A Duchess spreads her evil, vindictive claws on the ton and someone comes back from the dead. For me, this story reads like a soap opera script. My fellow readers, I recommend this book. Until next time... read on.

I have enjoyed reading the Daring Dersinghams series and enjoyed reading Delphi and Adam’s story. They met in London and seemed to rub along fine with each other. They shared several interests, and then suddenly Adam disappeared. Just left without any word or why he was leaving. Of course, that hurt Delphi to the core, and she decided to go to Rome and study her interests. Adam is a complicated man, saddled with family and an estate that needed bringing back from the edge of disaster, after his fathers ill-fated support of the Stuart’s reclaiming the throne is Scotland. Adam and Delphi meet by accident in Rome and so the games begin. I loved the plot, the characters and found this to be a page turning read. Thank you for this series, as they are all great reads.

Not the best story, nor was the ending particularly happy. The heroine meets the hero one night after they have to stay at a house when the heroine's sister is sick while travelling. She is stumbling around the house and falls into his room. They meet and talk. This hero is a duke, but he is the least duke-like that I have ever read. They visit with each other during the season and he just disappears, making her look bad. She goes to Rome with her sister and her sister's new husband. She meets the hero again, but now he is a supposed traitor to the crown. This story went all over the place, numerous times. Not one character acted true to the time period. It was a disjointed story that never could get together. And the ending was so disappointing and sad. I like HEA's. That is why we read romance, for the HEA. This book was not titillating nor interesting. I give it 2 stars, and do not recommend.

I have adored reading about the Dershingham's from the very first book! I so enjoyed Delphi and Adam's story.
Delphi thought she would hear from Adam after their time in London, but he disappeared without a word. Unable to face the whispers of the ton, Delphi heads to Rome where she runs into Adam. Adam loves Delphi, but family commitments called him away and left him unable to give an explanation. Not all is as it seems in Rome with talk of a Jacobite revealed, a conspiracy against the King, etc. Through it all, Adam is there with Delphi!
You don't want to miss this gem of a story!

Romance and Intrigue

He courted her and left without a word. When she traveled to Rome, he was there, and all evidence pointed to him being a traitor. Why did Adam leave Delphi without a by your leave, and was he truly a traitor? Conspiracy, spies, intrigue, and romance will keep you reading to see what happens. Murder, mayhem, and assassination plots are at the center of the story. If you enjoy books with intrigue, secrets, and romance, you might like this tale.

I'm reading the Daring Dersinghams series completely out of order, but I don't think that really matters. Having finished book one a week or so ago, I've now read book four. I'll have to go back for the others in the series.
This book deals with Delphi Dersingham and Adam, Duke of Kilsyth. Now that her triplet sisters are married, Delphi remains the only member of the Dersingham family who hasn't married. She did expect to be proposed to by the Duke of Kilsyth but he vanished without giving her word of where he was going and leaving her subject to the ridicule of London society after being abandoned. Now in Rome, to distance herself from the gossip, she finds herself back in his company and just as attracted to him as ever.
This is a fun read with treason and intregue alongside the usual romance elements. I don't know a great deal about the Old Pretender and Young Pretender in exile or Georgian history in general. It is a fascinating period though and added to the richness of this book. I enjoy historical romances as much fo the history as for the romance and this series has a great sense of time.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The beautiful cover of "A Whisper of Treason" grabbed my attention immediately. I was a little hesitant, given that this book was the fourth in the series, but enough background was provided that I wasn't lost when other characters and situations were referenced. At the same time, the background didn't take over the book, which is always appreciated!

Delphi, the last unmarried Dersingham, takes center stage of this story. She spends a long night talking to Adam, Duke of Kilsyth when they, along with a party of others, are delayed getting home by one of the sister's headaches. Delphi and the Duke end the night with a kiss, then the book moves forward approximately eighteen months later. While in Rome, Delphi and Adam meet up again and sparks fly. A plot to assassinate the British Royal Family is uncovered, and the chase is on to find the mastermind behind the plan.

The chemistry between Adam and Delphi is wonderful. From their first kiss to their interactions further into the book there is great sexual tension between these two. I took note of the attention to details as well-from clothing to descriptions of 18th century daily life. The details helped paint a rich picture of different types of coaches, manners, and basic living. The only area where I felt the book needed more detail was in the bedroom scenes. Generally, they were glossed over, and I would have loved more given the chemistry between the two main characters.

Thank you to Dragonblade Publishing and Netgalley for providing a digital ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. "A Whisper of Treason" was a thoroughly enjoyable read.

What a wonderful series this has been and was excited to read Delphi and Adam's story.

They had met in London and seemed to share several interests and then he had suddenly disappeared. Delphi had traveled to Rome with Matilda and her husband and then suddenly Adam was there sweeping her into a kiss.

There is so much to this story. Intrigue, suspense, strong attraction, secrets, danger and everything is not as it seems. Delphi plans revenge on Adam for how he left her in England. Make him fall in love with her and then just leave him.

But plans often go awry and when there is a strong chemistry, it often cannot be denied!
Another great addition to this fabulous series!!

A Whisper of Treason
Lynne Connollyroman.

Lady Delphi Dersingham Is one of the triplets which is extremely unusual. She loves History especially Roman. She has met the Duke of Kilsyth, Adam. His father almost ruined the estate, his father was a Jacobite and was killed at Culloden. He worked ten long years to bring the estate up to snuff. Now he could think of marriage and he wanted Delphi.
She was in Rome with the Duke and Duchess of Trensom. She was studying Trajan's column. Kilsyth had disappeared from England without a word to anyone. They met in Rome by accident. they didn't know either was there. She had been hurt, deeply. I thought Adam and Delphi were adorable. They could sit for hours and talk. He was very protective of her. They could tell each other anything. She did have a hard time forgiving him for leaving and not tell her. They had been very close almost engaged. She Felt a fool. The characters were fun and seemed to love solving mysteries. She did not want to be involved with him any longer but her feelings were still strong about him. I was very absorbed by this amazing book. I am so glad I got a chance to read this novel.
I received this ARC from Net Galley and voluntarily reviewed it.

Delphi Dersingham is the last remaining unmarried Dersingham triplet who’s falling in love with Adam, Duke of Kilsyth. Under suspicion of being a Jacobite Adam abandoners her without so much as a parting word leaving her the center of gossip. When she least expects she again sees the man who broke her heart. He sets out to prove he love is true and seeks to keep her safe from the dangers following him. A captivating story of a love rekindled under extenuating conditions, will their new love survivor and flourish? Will the true Jacobite be revealed and Adam and Delphi be able to live HEA?I have voluntarily read and reviewed the excellent book.

A Whisper of Treason by Lynne Connolly is Book Four of the Daring Dersinghams and is the last story of an adorable family consisting of a brother and triplet sisters. Lady Delphi finds herself in Rome with the family of her sister-in-law's former housekeeper/nanny, who, defying all odds, has married the Duke of Trensom and is settling on to a happy life. It has been Delphi's dream to come to Rome to study things she has dreamed of her whole life. It was also time to vacate London for a while after her very public abandonment by the Duke of Kilsyth, whom she had hoped to marry. All of a sudden he had just up and gone, with no explanation, and Lady Elizabeth, her nemesis, had made sure everyone in town knew about it. As she is working on the translation of engravings on a statue, Kilsyth appears, embraces and kisses her, totally astounds her. Thus begins several days of the most astounding situation imaginable, during which not only does she marry, but also she is abducted. All for reasons so bizarre as to be ultimately believable.

The Dersinghams are all interesting young women, raised to be independent and studious. Delphi is now 27 years old, and so is considered a spinster, which is fine by her. She doesn't intend to have her life up-ended by any man with whom she is not totally in love, which doesn't appear to be on he horizon. Adam is a complicated man, who brought his family and estate back from the edge of disaster after his father's ill-fated support of the restoration of the Stuart's to the throne and Scotland's subsequent defeat at Culloden. This is a convoluted plot, which demands the reader's full attention. It is full of murder plots and other sorts of intrigues, as well as romance and heartbreak. It is "fun," if that can be considered the correct word and a fitting ending to the Dersingham's story. I enjoyed it whole-heartedly. I recommend it.

Would you marry a suspected traitor? What if he had walked away from you and you didn’t know why? Could you let him back in your life? All these questions and more were running through Delphi’s mind and she didn’t have her two sisters around to help her reason things out. She was a triplet and that made her so much closer and attuned to wanting her family, but she new that the choice had to be her own.
Adam was being accused of being a traitor, but things were not always what they seemed to be. He had to be the one to lookout for his siblings and he also loved Delphi too much to pot her into danger.

Plots and Assassinations of the Royal Courts are always taking place and if you are anyone of note you can be dragged into the mess without it even being your choice.

The author does a superb job with her research in keeping things as close to possible of real events. Her characters are believable and they interact well and the flow of the book is fantastic!

I would recommend this book to everyone.
Thank you to the authors and publishers who work diligently for us the readers.

I received an advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.

Delphi Dersingham has been betrayed by the man she thought loved her and would be with her for the rest of her life. However, Adam disappeared without a word and left her to face the hateful gossips of the Ton.
When Adam comes across Delphi in Rome, his heart and mind quickly realize all that he has lost. Lost due to the possible treasonous actions of his brother. But Delphi has acquired another suitor, one with whom she is very comfortable and one that agrees the two of them could live together amicably. But, as Joshua’s interest is not what it seems to be, her nemesis makes an appearance and the two of them seem to know each other a little too intimately. Adam and Dephi continue to fight their feelings for each other as they protect their very lives from the evil that is closer than either of them realize.

Before this season of books I’d never heard of let alone read Lynne’s stories, now I’m so glad I have , they are wonderfully brilliant and romantic.

I adore the characters, the Dersingham’s have a special place in my heart and I’m always looking for more from this family.

Adam and Delphi have an awesome relationship, so exciting and beautiful to read about their bond growing and maturing into love, they both have a passion for living and it shows in every line written.

I’m hoping that we get to read about Adams brother, maybe a spin off with his story soon.

You honestly won’t go wrong reading this series.
It’s outstanding

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Treason, jilted lover, and scandal, what more could you ask for? This story revolves around Delphi and Adam, Adam was once Delphi’s suitor before he up and disappeared, leaving her cold and to face society by herself. Now, as she has traveled to Rome to study and get over him, he suddenly appears again and is pursuing her again. Adam was dealing with a lot of family issues and the fact that he is being suspected of being a traitor to the Crown, runs into the love of his who he left, the beautiful Delphi. He is currently in the midst of trying to find his lost brother and sort out the treason plot but he just can’t seem to keep away from Delphi. The story alternates between Delphi and Adam’s POVs, and the plot is fairly interesting, especially with the whole treason aspect. My one glitch was that Delphi, after being left cold turkey and vowing to actually move on is smitten within 2 seconds of being around Adam again. She becomes a bit of a puddle and has this unyeilding faith and love for him. I have to commend her for it but I found it to be a bit gratting as he literally left her cold turkey without a word and said he sent her ONE letter but it apparently never made it to her. Delphi... girl...see I like Delphi as a person, she’s quirky, smart, and doesn’t take anyone’s opinions, but her love for Adam even after what he did to her was a bit.. off putting. He just kissed her and suddenly all is forgiven and she’s right back where she started. Besides that, yes the plot was an interesting one with the murder and the treason, but the romance was just okay in my opinion.

A romance with a different kind of heroine, Lady Delphi is a person who secretly loves classics. When she meets the duke of Kylsyth, literally by stumbling into him, she is moved to her toes by his kiss, and reacts accordingly. An enjoyable romance, which I would recommend.
