This book is filled with beautiful artwork, and a sweet story, but the art was what I would recommend this for.

This is a strange story, but after re-reading it I fully grasped the metaphors and the meaning of the sudden change from a happy, cheerful life of the young girl and the little fox, into a darker and more overpowering tone.
It truly does reflect the difference between childhood and adulthood, going from a carefree life to a life of sudden responsibilities and seriousness, which can be overwhelming and, sometimes, dark.
The illustrations are fantastic and I really enjoyed the overall message.
Just enjoy childhood to the best you can because soon enough things change.

This graphic novel was hilarious and well-drawn, definitely worth the money and the hype, and I hope will be successful!

I received a free E-copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely adored the art style in Pistouvi, the black and white drawings created a lot of stark contrast and set the tone for the story. However, I felt quite confused while reading this story as it was difficult for me to follow along with the plot. It was a much darker plot than I anticipated from the cover and blurb alone, I did enjoy the ambiance the author created that injected a sort of eerie feeling. This book was filled to the brim with metaphors that I will be honest, made me feel quite silly because I didn't understand most of them. However, just because they went over my head does not mean they will over other readers! Those that enjoy allegorical and symbolic literature and books that do not have neat endings and like cliffhangers might very well enjoy this one! I was quite bummed that I did not enjoy it as much as I had hoped I would, however, I still enjoyed the art style in conjunction with the story.

Two stars because the artwork was adorable. Honestly, I’m not sure what I just read. Unfortunately I didn’t understand the story at all. The symbolism just went over my head. I hope others enjoy this one.

This was super cute I absolutely loved the art style of this one! Pistouvi was such a mischievous character always fighting with the crows.
the story was a little hard for me to follow though.

Such a cute little story I am so glad that I was accepted to review this book. the illistrations and artwork on the cover fit the theme of the book perfectly and it is so cute and heartwarming to read.

This is a graphic novel about a girl named Jeanne and a fox named Pistouvi. They live in a tree and are best friends. Other characters include a tractor with a giant beard, and the wind as a beautiful fairy like woman.
I'm not too sure what to think about this one. It was broken into chapters, but they didn't flow with one another. This made it kind of confusing and slightly hard to follow.
The illustrations were nice. The characters were cute. The birds looked a little scary at certain moments, but I think that was the point?
Thank you to Merwan, Magnetic Press, and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

What's the story about? I don't know what to tell you really. The story was intriguing but it's so vague that you're left confused most of the time. Despite that, I really loved the artstyle except for the open mouth drawings, they looked very off and wrong.
Overall, it wasn't so bad and it was a quick read. If it had more context or explanation to the plot then it would have been more interesting.
Thank you Netgalley for providing me with the digital copy for an honest review.

Ah. Adorable art. Delightful story. I love the colours chosen in the pallet. A beautiful adventure to go along with and explore more.

if not for the description, cover, and title

I don't really understand the comics. It's about a little girl who lives with some kind of talking fox named Pistouvi. They live among birds, a lady wind and a tractor guy. But I don't really get the story.

Tonally, this book makes me think of HIlda, Over the Garden Hedge, that sort of thing. Elements of the plot are fairly inexplicable. They seem entirely random to the reader but the characters accept them as a normal, expected part of their lives. Its like we're getting peeks through a window into this other world. So things don't always make sense and we don't always have context apart from what we can glean from the book on the whole. So the first read is pretty weird. It makes more sense with a repeat read.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
This one will be a hard one to review since it doesn't have a plot to begin with. It follows a girl and a fox and how they're fighting some birds. The book is supposed to be like a "coming of age story about the transition from childhood to adulthood" but we didn't get any of that. I don't think the story portrayed whatever it was the authors wanted to put out because I didn't understand the point of the novel.
The only thing I liked about it was the art style, which is the reason why I'm giving this a merciful 2 stars rating.

cute cute cute cute cute cute! I really liked the art style and the story, even tho I did have to read it twice to get it.

This book is absolutely charming. I love the art style, and I think the story is quite moving. The stories don’t always completely make sense, but they’re strange and charming in their own wonderful little way. This reminds me a bit of Scandinavian folklore, along with the Brothers Grimm Fairytales. It has some strong messages about identity and fitting in, and growing up. It was a strange little book, but I enjoyed it.

This short comic book filled me with so many different emotions.
The drawings were beautiful and strange, and I kept catching myself at just staring at them.
At first I thought the story odd, I couldn't quite put my finger on it, perhaps it was because it was so short, so brief. Even so, this is the kind of story that doesn't leave you easily. I kept coming back to it, trying to figure out what it MEANT, perhaps I was trying too much. Perhaps it was just a story about two friends and their journey through growing up, through inevitable changes that there's no coming back from. Simple as life.
But I would recommend to everyone to find their own version of it. It might be just as magical as the book itself.

I didn't understand the plot. It seems to be missing a lot of the time. The artwork was nice and kinda cute at some points. I think if there had been more substance to this, I would have enjoyed it and could have forgiven the lack of plot.

I have no idea what I just read. None of this made any sense in any kind of way, and the ending was just so sad, but like - WHY was it so sad? NOTHING MADE ANY SENSE!

I found this story to be confusing and lacking a plot. While the illustrations were nice, they weren't enough to save this work.
