The book started well but as the story kept progressing, I became more disappointed in it. I had the feeling that Julia and Kaiden were not well-matched. While both of them were fine as individuals, they didn't work for me as a couple. I felt like they weren't compatible. They fought too much, had one too many arguments and they never seemed to get to each other. I was rooting for them not as a couple but on their personal accomplishments. Julia and Kaiden just didn't work together. The rest of the elements of the story were more interesting and I found myself more drawn to them than the couple. Julia's friend was a nice addition and I would to read more about her aka see her get her own book. I also hope that Miguel is not the a-hole he seemed to be and that there is more to him.
Highly entertaining and emotionally trilling journey that was so hard to put down. Sweetly heartwarming, sexy and fun small-town journey that was filled with intriguing charters, witty banter and simmering passion.... was a great read from beginning to end.
A spicy enemies to lovers romance??? Yes please!!! I absolutely loooooooooooved this! I will definitely be reading more from Kate Pearce!!!!
This is a cowboy romance, and this is the 4th book in the Millers of Morgan Valley series. Overall I found this book ok not great. I think what took away from this book is the main characters just do not feel they go together. I did enjoy the drama in this book, but I did not enjoy the love story/romance in this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Kensington Books) or author (Kate Pearce) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
Another Morgan Valley Ranch delight! Kaiden is a gem just like his brothers. Strong, loyal, hardworking man. I love this trope, the hate to love kind😍 Of course they would grow on eachother after awhile, us readers DEPEND on it. I have so far enjoyed every one of Kate Pearce's books, that I have been lucky enough to read. Kate writes about your classic sexy cowboys with a modern world touch that still makes it relateable to any reader. Thank you Netgalley for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.
The Rancher Meets His Match (The Millers of Morgan Valley #4). By Kate Pearce. 2020. Zebra Books (ARC eBook).
Kaiden Miller and Julia Garcia have never been on good footing. Kaiden had a crush on her in high school and Julia has been holding a grudge against him for just as long. But now they come together as Julia comes home in order to help get the her father’s house and ranch in better order, and Kaiden works to converts a couple of the rooms at the house to better suit the limiting abilities of Julia’s father who has MS. The Miller’s are a large brood so there are some revelations and some meddling that help Kaiden see a different future for himself. And a similar thing happens with Julia and her father. But Julia’s brother, Miguel, was just too one-dimensional to me, so I never figured out if there was more motivation for his actions and crap attitude than stated. Overall, The Rancher Meets His Match is an entertaining and engaging slow-burn romance.
Historical Romace are my typical go to genre but occasionally I like to throw in something different. I'm glad I chose this one. Very good. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Loved the character development and good story line. Excellent description of local locals and action to keep me reading to the end.
An emotional story...revisiting the Miller's its Kaiden's story the family peacemaker, the happy go lucky one of t he family. Julia Garcia came back to help her adjust to having MS.
They had a history back in high school but can t heir demons be tamed and obstacles crossed to be together?
Kate Pearce out does herself with this book, it was full of feels and a page turner
Again And Again Absolutely Awesome Read from this Author will have you hooked and wanting more Always well written, great characters, Awesome story line, you will enjoy.
I love Kate Pearce and the Millers! I already know to set aside a good chunk of time before starting her books. I hate to put the book down and wait to finish.
Kaiden and Julia. I have to say, I was a little disappointed in this book. I just didn't feel much chemistry between the two. I read the book of course, but I wasn't hooked like I usually am with her books. I could put the book down, and it actually took me a few days to finish it. This one just didn't pull me in like the others, but I am still excited for the next books! It was a good story line, and still added a lot of info to the series. She is still a favorite author, but this one just felt forced and lacked chemistry.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
Kaiden Miller has always felt like the odd man out in his family. Although his family runs a highly successful ranch, he’s always felt as though he didn’t belong. While he works on the ranch, Kaiden is also a highly skilled, successful carpenter. He’s currently renovating the old theatre in town to accommodate four apartments. Although he has more work than he can do, he accepts a job renovating Juan Garcia’s ranch house. Juan has MS and is now mostly confined to a wheelchair. So he lends a hand to the fellow rancher. What he doesn’t expect to find at the ranch is Julia—his long ago crush.
Julia Garcia, a highly successful lawyer in the city, has returned home to help her ailing dad. Julia left for college and never looked back. She never wanted to be tied down to the ranch. But her brother is MIA, so Julia returns home to a ranch in desperate need of repairs. Julia only has a short period of time to oversee renovations and make arrangements for the future of the ranch—the one her dad has left to her MIA brother. Julia is shocked to discover that Kaiden is a talented, skilled carpenter. Julia always thought of Kaiden as a jokester, not serious about anything. What she didn’t know is that Kaiden had a HUGE crush on her in high school...
I think Ben and Kaiden’s stories are my favorite in the series. Kaiden, not sure of his place in the family, was lost. During his childhood, he was the peacemaker. He knew how to handle his dad’s abusive behavior and took the brunt of the abuse in order to keep peace in the family. But Kaiden wasn’t sure ranching was what he wanted to dedicate his life to. Kaiden loved carpentry and adding special, meaningful touches to each piece of furniture he made. Then Julia comes along and stirs up even more childhood memories, longings. I loved that Julia was a strong woman who didn’t need saving. Great story, mixed with a little bit of suspense! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
Great story! This is part of a series but can also be read alone. I would recommend the rest of them are worth a read as well! Good characters, I felt drawn immediately drawn in to the characters.
The Rancher Meets his Match is part of a series but easily readable as a standalone book. It is the story of two characters that are likeable but with backstories that I could not completely understand as much as I wish I did. I definitely could have used more with Julia and Miguel, and everything that went through that family dynamic.
The romance itself was good although predictable, which is not a bad thing but there are no huge surprises. It is consistent, sweet and steamy at times.
Caiden Miller is a master carpenter and is working on rehabilitating the old movie theater. Julia is home from her San Francisco law office to check on her father's ME relapse and becoming wheelchair bound. Their past history comes between them on their very rough road to a final HEA! I read a NetGalley copy and freely leave my review
The fourth book in The Millers of Morgan Valley series a well written story with a very good storyline. Kaiden Miller and Julia Garcia's story they will have a lot to overcome if they are to be together, I can not wait to read the next book to see what happens. I received a copy of this book via Net Galley and am voluntarily leaving a review.
An easy read for a Sunday morning. This can be read as a stand alone, but there are many intertwining characters and their story lines that have been previously read add additional layers to this plot.
Kaiden is the third son in a ranching family and has never felt like he fit in. He was there as a working body, not valued for who he is. He branches out on his own and discovers a love of carpentry - which leads him to the Garcia Ranch.
With her father getting older and ailing, Julia is forced back to her family ranch to help him. Running into Kaiden is not on her list of to-do's, she's too busy taking over the legal world in the big city.
Together there are sparks - anger, passion, personality conflicts - and in the end... well, you'll have to read it to find out.

The Rancher Meets His Match is part of a series but reads well as a stand alone. I enjoyed the main characters and their struggles in life and with each other. It was a good read that did have me trying to guess the outcome of several storylines within. Not you typical boy meets girl scenario.
Kaiden has been asked to make the neighbors home wheelchair accessible because of health issues. When he reaches the ranch he comes face to face with Julia, his frenemy and Juan, the ranch owner’s daughter.
Julia and Kaiden like each other and are not really sure why they are frenemies. And now with Kaiden constantly around, renovating the house, it gives them the opportunity to get to know each again.
This was a cute (sort of) second chance romance. They both have family issues to overcome, while sorting out their feelings for each other. And Misunderstandings and lack of communication did not make it easy.
I have read a lot of books by the author but somehow I couldn’t connect with his one and so just a 3 stars from my side.
Kaiden Miller is the jokester of the family. Always the guy who gets along. Julia Garcia comes back home to take care of her father and make sure he's set with some renovations to his house to accommodate his wheel chair. Kaiden used to be friends with Julia's brother and always had the hots for Julia too but they never got along. Now older and wiser they still butt heads but there is also attraction. This book was one of the better one of the series for me. Fast paced until about 80% then it kind of lagged at but where I wanted to yell at Kaiden to not be so stupid where he majorly screws things up. He of course fixes it. Barely.
