A good cold case mystery, the author keeps the reader involved in the process of getting the the bottom of a case. There is enough detail for those who like to get into the technical stuff but enough focus on characters for people who prefer to focus on the thinking and interactions.
An entertaining and engrossing cold case mystery that kept me hooked.
The characters are likable and well thought, the plot is well developed and the solid mystery kept me guessing.
I want to read other books by this author.
Recommended.

Whatever you say can say about reported RaeLynn Demming, the first thing you notice is her tenacity. She's like a dog with a bone ... she just doesn't stop until she gets the story she's after.
For thirty years no one has covered the Grande Hotel fire where over 100 people perished. The investigation following proved that it was arson .. but no one has ever been charged with the crime.
RaeLynn wants an interview with Rose Trudeau, but so far all attempts have failed. But RaeLynn has not given up. Instead of calling, she shows up at Rose's mansion with a basket of goodies. What Rose sees in RaeLynn is like seeing herself all those years ago. What Rose wants is the arsonist and killer caught ... and justice for her best friend, who died in the fire.
It's an unlikely duo, but somehow it works. The two women go to the site of the fire but are warned off by the local police. Rose's family also warn them to leave it alone. But do they listen?
As determined as they are to solve the mystery, they find themselves facing an enemy who will do anything to keep the Grande's secrets buried.
This was a nice, easy read with characters that are outstanding. I loved the interplay between the two women. Although there is a generational gap, each sees in the other what they would like to see in themselves. It's heart-warming, it's sometimes funny, but never boring. Throw in Rose's two adult sons who worry that RaeLynn is leading Rose into possible trouble, they don't see that just the opposite might be true.
The plot was a bit complex, especially as Rose remembers all that happened the day of the fire ... so many of their friends were there as she tried to connect who they were, where they were, and who possibly could have started the fire. Their investigation reveals secrets that her late husband kept from her ... and the consequences thereof. The ending came as quite a surprise.
This is the first of the series, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

A very interesting cold case mystery with two lovely main characters. Reporter RaeLynn Demming has received threats after the latest expose she wrote. Interested in learning more about the fire that destroyed the Grande Hotel, thirty years ago, she approaches Rose Trudeau who is one of the survivors. Rose was a well-known Hollywood socialite and had dear friends that died in the fire. RaeLynn charms Rose in to talking about the case and they even go to the site where they are almost arrested. RaeLynn has youth and determination on her side and Rose has decided that she needs to get justice for the hundreds of people who were injured or died at the hotel. Someone doesn’t want the case reopened and may need to permanently silence RaeLynn and Rose. Will they learn who really started the fire after all these years…and why? I look forward to the next book in this series. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
Into the Fire by Adrienne Giordano was one of those books that captured me from the first chapter. Suspense, emotional highs and lows, distinctive characters and a complex story that kept me turning the pages.
RaeLynn is a struggling reporter and Rose has been denying the grief caused by the death of her best friend until RaeLynn brings the tragedy back from the past. A smoothly paced plot and Ms. Giordano's descriptive writing of characters, emotions and settings pulled me into the story and I never surfaced again until the end.
