I loved this book. It was a perfect addition to the Lucky Harbor series and the romance was awesome. I enjoyed reading it and recommend it to everyone! I loved the Christmas aspect of the story.

So I had totally forgotten about Mia; the daughter that Tara and Ford's gave up for adoption - only to be reunited with her at 17. This story occurs five-years-later, and Mia is ready to introduce her new love "Nick" to the family during Christmas (and her aunt's wedding) - Yikes, all that pressure! I would have said 'No' if I were Nick.

This is a VERY short novella - but Ms. Shalvis still managed to delivered a break-up, make-up, and a HEA!

Mia didn’t grow up in Lucky Harbor
but she has an attachment to it in the form of her birth parents, Tara and Ford
(from book 2 in the series The Sweetest Thing).
She’s now in New York
going to school and has been dating Nick for 6 months. She’s pretty sure that he’s “The One” but he’s
never mentioned anything involving their future together so she’s not positive
he feels the same way. For Christmas she
invites him to Lucky
Harbor for her aunt Chloe’s
wedding and Nick not only doesn’t accept but positively balks at the idea.
Once in his own apartment and lost in his own memories Nick
realizes what a complete idiot his is a what a mess he’s made of things with
Mia. He rushes to her apartment first
thing the next morning only to find out that she’s already left for Lucky Harbor. Nick’s determined to make things right but
how can he do that when she’s all the way across the country?
This was such a sweet little short story. The story takes place 5 years after Chloe &
Sawyer got together in Head Over Heels and now Mia is 22 years old. She’s living on her own in New York and she knows what she wants. I loved that she was confident in who she was
and what she wanted even though she wasn’t positive about Nick’s feelings. I thought she handled the situation as best
she could and with an admirable maturity.
Nick when it came down to it was a pretty great guy. He was confused by his feelings for Mia and
her love for him. He had grown up with
nothing even resembling love and when faced with the chance to meet Mia’s
family he turned into a complete bonehead.
He made up for it in a really great way though and I loved his initiative.
When he figured out what needed fixing he took the bull by the horns and didn’t
let go.
If you’ve been reading the Lucky Harbor
series then I think this short story is a must.
Rating: 4 out of 5

This is a teeny story at 14,000 but it gave me my Lucky Harbor fix! Mia is the daughter of Tara and Ford (from book two) and she is going back to Lucky Harbor to spend time with the family that she is still getting to know. She had hoped to be going with Nick, but instead she is going back with a broken heart. Of course Nick changes his mind, tails her there and spends the rest of the book earning her back.

I liked this one. It was short, sweet and filled with the humor that I expect from Lucky Harbor novels. I did feel that poor Nick was made out to be a bit of a bad-guy but it drove the novella forwards. I loved them together and must applaud the amount of sexual chemistry that Ms Shalvis managed to build in such a short story.

As it is set 5 years after we first met Mia, there is some developments in the world of the characters from the original trilogy….I loved reading about them all again!
Overall, it was a fun stocking filler featuring a series that I love dearly. It was a little too short to be completely satisfying but it sure fulled a hole. I love this series and all its character 😀

While this book can stand on its own, it takes place after the 6th book in the Lucky Harbor series. As much as I enjoyed it I’m pretty sure I would have loved it even more if I had read the first 6 books in the series already. I wasn’t confused or anything, and everything made sense… but it’s kind of like coming in to the school year mid-way through after all the friendships and routines have been set. I felt like I should have known these people better. The good thing, though, is that I love Lucky Harbor and I’m even more eager to begin the series! This was a great way for me to see if I like Jill’s writing, characters, setting, and swoons… and I do!

I really liked Mia and Nick together… even though I didn’t like Nick in the beginning. When he turns up in Lucky Harbor to win her back, though, I couldn’t help but smile and watch him try. There were some funny moments, deep moments, and downright romantic moments all wrapped up with a festive bow on top. I won’t say anything more because this book is a tiny little thing and I don’t want to ruin it. If you’re looking for a sweet christmas story, a continuance of the Lucky Harbor series, or even an easy book to commit to in order to decide if Jill Shalvis is an author for you (like I did), this is a really great book to pick up! And even though it’s a really short story, it felt complete and fully developed to me. A very enjoyable read!

This one was an ok book. Mia wants to be first in a relationship. She wants to be chosen. When her boyfriend, Nick, doesn't have the greatest reaction to her request to go home with her for Christmas, Mia is heartbroken.
I liked that the author showed an ex who still cared but was completely in love with someone else. Nick was a good guy, just not good with relationships. Mia's family rallies around her but they aren't horrible to Nick. He does his share of stupid stuff but his heart is good. It really was a good story, I just didn't connect to the characters and how it all happened. I do plan to read more of the Luck Harbor books!
It was a 3/5 for me. A quick, cute Christmas read.
