This was a really fun read, interesting and quirky.
.
Hollyn Tate is a blogger who reviews New Orleans entertainment under the pen name Miz Poppy. Miz Poppy is everything that Hollyn is not - brash and confident. Hollyn has Tourette's Syndrome, which manifests in a series of tic and twitches and a wicked case of social anxiety. Speaking in person to others is torture, but with the help of her therapist, she is trying to make strides.
Jasper is the good-looking new barista at Hollyn's office. His main gig is improv, a perfect gig for someone as impulsive as he is. Raised in foster homes, he struggles with his own set of issues.
The two become unlikely friends - with benefits. No strings attached. Like that ever works!
lol
Jasper is surprisingly sweet. Team Jasper all the way!
Hollyn is more of a badass than she (or her best friend) gives herself credit for.
It's not many books that teach you the intricacies of Tourette's as well as the improv business, but this one does! . :)
Is some of it predictable? Probably. Is it still worth a read? Absolutely! I'll definitely be checking out the author's other books.

I smiled through about 95% of this book. It was so endearing and warm. I absolutely love the friendships / relationships that Roni Loren can craft. They make me sad that I don't have those types of friendships / relationships in my own life. This plot is very unique. I love that about the plot. It is your normal met cute story with some twists thrown in that add that unique flavor. I love that Roni went there. Jasper came from a sad background but that helped to make him the kind of man he became. Hollyn's character had a sad background, albeit different circumstances than Jasper, but that helped to shape her as an adult. I could relate to Hollyn's character. She was shy and uncomfortable with crowds, new people, etc. Now, I can't relate to her entirely but to a certain account. All in all, this was just a witty, endearing, full of smiles type of book.

YES! Neurodivergent romance!
I love that the characters of Holly and Jasper are peak millennial - they work in a co-work space, they're both very solitary when it comes to social circles, and, in Jasper's case, chased a dream that led to struggling financially. The awkwardness of their first meeting and the progression of their relationship felt authentic as they better learned ways to communicate and cope with each other. I was not a fan of the supporting characters, however... the best girl friend seemed rushed and too convenient, the angel investor too convenient and too unlikeable, and the ex-boyfriend? I got red flag patriarchy all over that. I am so happy to read this romance that encourages those with different abilities to speak about deserving love simply because they exist and not in spite of a disability!

This book blew me away! I was unable to but it down. Perfect, dazzlingly, very well written. The details the author described throughout the book was so amazing. The characters and storyline were fantastic. The ending I did not see coming Truly Amazing and appreciated the whole story. This is going to be a must read for many many readers. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! No spoilers. Beyond amazing I enjoyed this book so very much. The characters and storyline were fantastic. The ending I did not see coming Could not put down nor did I want to. Truly Amazing and appreciated the whole story. This is going to be a must read for many many readers. Maybe even a book club pick.

I wasn't sure I was going to be able to finish this book. I have to give it 3 stars.
The pace was all over the place. There were some places where the book just dragged and i found myself to be bored. Others, it went by so fast, I was certain I missed something.
This was the first time that I read a book with a disorder and it was definitely interesting to view the world through the eyes of someone living with Tourette Syndrome.
The characters were very different from each other, but they all fit. The chemistry of Hollyn and Jasper was cute.
I do think that Cal could have done better in a different plot setting. Somehow, he didn't fit into this book.
Some of the things in the book were a bit unrealistic. Hollyn's progression from an article writer to a blogger to podcasting was too fast and where yes, I know she's growing day by day, it was kind of rushed and not believable.
Don't get me wrong, the book was good. I enjoyed reading it, i just wish that it captured my attention a bit more.

Thanks to NetGalley & Roni Loren for this arc. The only downfall to reading this book early is that I now have to wait so long for the 2nd book in the series!! Torture!
First off, any book with Colleen Hoover’s support on the cover will sell me immediately. And she was spot on. I loved this book. I needed a charming romance & I got it.
We meet Hollyn, an entertainer writer with a pen name and lots of anxiety. She’s witty and sharp but her Tourette’s makes her life challenging. What an important topic- this story has definitely opened up my eyes to life with Tourette’s. Hollyn meets Jasper, an aspiring improv actor, who has all the confidence she’s missing. The banter between them is so fun. Jasper inspires Hollyn to believe in herself and shows her it’s ok to be yourself. Jasper finds loyalty in Hollyn that he hasn’t had from many people in his life. They add some really steamy anecdotes to their story which always blurs the lines of friendship. The pair develop a unique partnership- but can it turn into something more and should it?
I really enjoyed this story. So much so that I almost didn’t want to keep reading because I didn’t want to be finished. But I also couldn’t help but devour the story. I want this turned into a movie. I loved their jobs and backgrounds- not being storylines I’ve really read before. I loved the main characters and all the realness they embodied. Loren has become an author I’ll be seeking out from now on!

A light, funny read and an honest depiction of what it's like to live with social anxiety and Tourette's. I empathize with Hollyn and appreciate how her character was written with brutal honesty. I love the premise and lighthearted tone, but it was a bit of a drag to read as the story progressed. There's quite a few subplots that aren't unnecessary and distracting and as a whole, the story isn't too engaging and feels far-fetched at times. The author has a fantastic voice and humorous writing style, but this misses the mark for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me an ARC to review!

I struggled with the first chapter of this book and was about to give up, but I'm so glad I didn't. This was such a charming romance: warm, no needless melodrama, great portrayal of Tourettes. A real treat. Highly recommend.

This was my first book from this author that was highly recommended from my Facebook book club to read. They were right that she was a delight, I was sucked into the book fast and couldn’t stop reading it. I didn’t need sleep when I had the story!
Hollyn was a media star that was hidden by her online persona by her fear and Tourette’s. Jasper was an inspiring improv actor looking for his next break. When Hollyns boss demanded that she shows her face or else lose her job she has a panic attack. When she unburdened herself to her plight he decided to strike a deal that would help both of them achieve their respective goals. He would help her with her anxiety in front of the video and she would publicize his improv group with her popular column. Of course, there are references to other romance movies and stories along the way. Many are amazing movies. Jasper and Hollyn were adorable together and I cheered them along. I was so happy when Hollyn trusted others and herself to achieve her goals. My only complaint was Cal. Her best friend who had feelings for her seemed so left field for me. It was like it was added just to add the unnecessary drama. I thought the story was beautiful without it. Overall, it was a beautiful love story of two great people who were good for each other. I will definitely pick up her other books.

I loved Yes & I Love You with all my heart. Primarily because I could relate to the main character, Hollyn, so well. Not that I'm a successful reviewer, go out quite as much or anything, but social anxiety is so real. So is self-isolation and the wall in your mind when you're an extroverted introvert. I just adored how Hollyn dealt with her issues and grew as the plot progressed, which was both heartwarming and hopeful for anyone who identifies with her,
Hollyn is known by few people, hiding away because of social anxiety and Tourette’s. But her 'alter ego,' Miz Poppy, is know all too well across New Orleans. She is a hyper popular and respected entertainment commentator in the city, and you would never guess she's even been anxious. But when her boss demands that her identity is made public, Hollyn realizes she will need some help in overcoming her barriers. So she turns to her daily coffee guy Jasper who is also an improv actor... and who could use the fame of someone like her t jumpstart his career,
While this book deals with complex issues, it is lighthearted in a very good, entertaining way. The romance plot in this book is just fantastic as well, as the readers are dying to find out whether they will get together or not. This one is a huge yes.

Yes & I Love You was my first book by Roni Loren and it was a delight.
Hollyn is an introvert with Tourettes and a and Jasper is a struggling improve actor, together they decide to help each other out, Jasper helping Hollyn overcome her anxiety and Hollyn helping Jasper publicize his improve group by writing it up in her poplar column.
It was really addictive to read. I powered through it in a few hours and it was sweet and sexy and kind.
Jasper and Hollyn the relationship between them was cute, and I want Cal book, love triangle with him was unnecessary.
Still a cute and fun read. I would read more books by this author!

I have read a great many Roni Loren romances before and I will admit the synopsis of this one made me slightly apprehensive. However, the sheer fact I'd enjoyed so much of the author's previous work made me click.
By the time I had had this book for three days I had read 31 pages. I just really, really struggled. I couldn't connect with Hollyn or Jasper. I wasn't feeling anything for them as a couple and was running out of patience.
*I did not read every single page of this book*
I skipped several chapters and even once they were a couple I still struggled to care about their story and happy ending. One line inparticular when Jasper is away from Hollyn really made me cut any ties I had at all with him. The ending was a straight up scene from a famous movie which I also can't stand for similar reasons as the aforementioned line.
Unfortunately, this was not for me. I will however give props for the portrayal of protagonists with difficulties.

Yes & I Love You is a contemporary romance by Roni Loren. I have read Roni Loren before, but this book was very different than the ones I had previously read.
Yes & I Love You follows the heroine Hollyn, a popular entertainment writer who is avoiding everyone because of her Tourettes and past history, and the hero, Jasper, who is an extroverted improv actor who doesn't believe in himself or anything permanent because of his history being a foster child. These two start our their relationship trying to help each other out- not to make anyone jealous or for any third person kind of reason that is typical in this type of genre- but for themselves. Jasper wants Hollyn (alter ego Miz Poppy) to help him secure his theater so he can finally have something of his own (with the theme of roots being super important to his foster history) and Hollyn needs to learn how to be comfortable in person/on camera so that she can keep her gig as Miz Poppy despite her Tourette's tics making her want to hide.
This could make for a very heavy book- and I have to admit it took me awhile to get into. To be fair, some of that could be the fact I'm reading this during Thanksgiving holidays so it is a busy time. But it also took me awhile to get into the heroine and her story. Besides her tics (and those of her best friends), it was interesting to try and relate to someone who was trying so hard to both be brave and make big moves- and hide her true self so completely.
For all that, once I got into the story, I was invested. I really like Hollyn and her observations. I especially like her interactions with Andi, who was an awesome side character. I was not especially interested in her best friend Cal or where his story line went (although a book for him would be awesome) nor was I that invested in Jasper's ex or even Fitz who we barely got to know despite being such a huge catalyst for things.
There are definitely some storylines which are predictable, and I have to say I don't love how rushed the ending was- I am a huge believer in when characters behave badly there should be groveling involved. Or at least genuine discussion and apologies. And while the actions taken make sense when you consider the characters backgrounds- it definitely rubbed the shine off them and what they had built, in my opinion.
I will say, I think the friendship between Jasper and Hollyn was genuine- and the building of their chemistry and relationship was organic. I was definitely rooting for them- and that was definitely some of the hottest improv scenes I have read.
All in all, I enjoyed this book- I would give it a 3.75. It was a cute read, and I mostly enjoyed the character she developed. Thank you to NetGalley for the copy of this book.

Thank you to NetGalley, Roni Loren and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Hollyn is Miz Poppy. She writes snarky entertainment reviews online but in real life she has social anxiety, panic attacks and Tourettes. She has done well hiding behind her online persona until her boss decides that in order to keep her job, she needs to start doing video reviews. Jasper is the coffee guy who works downstairs. He is an actor who is down on his luck but wants to help Hollyn after mocking her in an improv show she was there to review.
This is my first time reading Roni Loren. I was a little stuck at first with the main character, Hollyn. I didn't have enough background on her to realize why she was being so rude to the people who tried to befriend her. This novel was perfect for learning about Tourettes and how it affected each person differently. I learned to love her as a character and understood her social anxiety. I would happily read another book by Roni Lauren.
While this book takes a while to get started, I would highly recommend pushing on. I couldn't put it down!

A great read, the story of Hollyn and Jasper, who meet when he takes a job in the shared workspace where she has her office.
Hollyn has tourettes, as does her ex. he wants her back, but she wants Jasper.
First book I have read by this author and looking forward to reading more.

I’m a big fan of Roni Loren’s books. This book is definitely less emotional and steamy and a little more rom com- which really worked. It was heartwarming with some threads of humour. I really enjoyed both characters’ quirks and found them to be endearing, particularly Hollyn. I appreciated reading about Hollyn’s Tourette’s and thought it was portrayed sensitively. Highly recommend!

So lovable, easy to read and get invested in, hooked up with flawed, quirky, relatable characters!
When the end of the freaking disastrous year approaches, the best thing to spend your precious time is getting a feel good, sweet romance books like this, choosing “ Baby is cold outside” as background music, lying on the couch, sipping your martinis or your hot chocolate full to the brim with marshmallows, enjoying your quality time with a widest smile on your face! That’s what I did! I highly recommend it to you!
I have to congratulate the author for two things before talking about the plot. First: I’m so happy she chose to write about Tourette syndrome and gave us some many important information, how it affected her main character’s life, how it triggered her anxiety disorder. The disease affected character’s life dramatically but it didn’t define who she was. The author differentiated her character’s development and the disease’s effects adroitly.
The second thing is the author perfectly handled to light down her tone and switch into chic lit from steamy erotic romances. Her great sense of humor helped a lot to create this entertaining book.
Let’s take a look at the synopsis: Miz Poppy is popular reviewer giving so many entertaining details about New Orleans night life! But that’s just the online personality. In real life Miz is Hollyn suffers from Tourette syndrome and anxiety attacks, building a secluded life with less human contact. Throughout her life she suffered from humiliation, bullying because of her medical condition. So her logic simple: less human communication means less problem in her life!
And now her job is at stake because her boss wants her to do video reviews. At this moment her path crosses with the office coffee guy Jasper who is unemployed actor. With his help she can handle those videos and Jasper can get the attention he needs for his acting career, getting rid of living with his sister. The plan will save both of them but they didn’t expect to like each other so much. Love is in the air but both of their baggage’s will give them second thoughts. Maybe catching your own HEA starts with learning to love yourself at first.
Cute, emotional, entertaining reading with quirky but so much adorable characters deserved my four sweet, swoon stars!
Special thanks to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.

Oh my goodness, ya’ll!!! Yes & I Love You is a sweet, quirky, emotion filled romance novel that had me at hello!!! The characters were so darn endearing and storyline was extremely fresh and original! The entire novel played out like a movie in my mind and I knew after the frost chapter I wasn’t going to just like this book, I was going to love it!! I have read (and adored) Roni Loren’s previous novels, but Yes & I Love You is my absolute favorite from her yet! I highly recommend this 5+++ star to everyone!!

This story is adorable. When I think of Roni Loren, I think hot, passionate romance stories with a really heavy tone. So it was quite a change to read something that is so light and "romcom"-esque. It's really quite cute and I think Roni pulls off the look quite well.
Also, bravo for the representation. I think this is the first story I have read where the MC has Tourette's and I love how it's not used as a crutch for the characterisation of Hollyn, but more of an meaningful portrayal of a life that some readers may not think about.
I also really loved the interactions between Hollyn and Jasper (but I do fall for the fake dating trope, so there's no surprise there). Their banter and chemistry feels so natural and I truly believed in their relationship and connection.
Overall, this is a great romance story with some laughs, a lot of swooning, and a really lovely message.

Miz Poppy writes sassy entertainment reviews online. But in real life she’s Hollyn, a woman with social anxiety and Tourette’s, who hides behind her online persona. Until her boss announces she has to start doing video reviews as well. So she turns to Jasper, the coffee guy in her office who also happens to be an improv actor. He agrees to help her out, but neither of them count on it changing their lives.
So I am a huge fan of Roni Loren’s other books, and was super excited to get a chance to review this book.
I am a little torn, because with this series the author is veering away from the erotic romance she has written in the past and veering towards chick lit (and that’s not what I typically enjoy). So I was definitely disappointed by the toned down sex scenes. But one thing that the author does really well is flesh out characters, and Hollyn is no exception. Readers will get a little education in how Tourette’s works, and is different for everyone, but will also see the other characters acceptance of her. She is also a lesson in perseverance, to just keep trying and keep pushing. Fans of the TV show Who’s Line Is It Anyway? will definitely recognize some of the improv scenes. Jasper comes with his own baggage, so he also has to work for what he wants.
Overall this was a fun read, and I would recommend it. Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this advanced reader copy. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
