As this is the 11th part in a series I had not read, it was a bit hard for me to get into the story. Michelle Sagara uses a lot of different characters beside private Kaylin and it is sometimes confusing who is who and are they enemy or foe?
I did like Kaylin’s attitude towards everything that is thrown in her path. She is send out to check out some mysterious murders and discovers something very strange. It takes her to – yet again – new characters who are strange and unearthly. And it keeps you guessing whether these characters are the good guys or the bad guys.
Some of the dialogues are a bit too long in my opinion. Especially if you miss the total build up of the series. So, probably to enjoy the total story you need to start at the beginning. The story is packed with action and developments, so it is definitely interesting. In all, three out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
