This book dragged for me. It had a good plot and good character development, but it just took a long time for anything to happen. There were some good twists and the ending was good. I’m glad I stuck with it!

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this ARC. First of all, let me say having not one, but two women say "My tummy hurts" was like nails on a chalkboard to me. How about saying "I have cramps" like an adult would? OK now that's off my chest! The beginning of the book was good-it was interesting to meet the characters. Then it felt like it took so long for something to actually happen other than infighting. When things started to be revealed it didn't feel like it was planned out. The very end was needed to wrap everything up but it was also kind of meh.

Thank you to the publisher for giving me the chance to read this book! It was a good book overall, however, it went a little slowly for me. I was hoping for more of a fast paced, page turning thriller!

Oh man, this book was so long, too long.

The first half was very very slow, we knew the premise, could see where the story was going, but it still took so many chapters to just get there. I didn't need the back stories of all the friends, and having each chapter hammer in that Evie is insecure and Dale is wild. When is the scheme gonna happen? Hurry up.

I am surprised so many people said the story is full of twist and turns, and said it was fast- paced.

The second half picked up a bit, but there was no suspense at all, who couldn't have seen it a mile away, and I can't believe it ended so fast. The author tried to set up another mystery with the epilogue, that last chapter was probably more interesting than the climax.

This is one book that I thoroughly enjoyed in the last two weeks. The narration just flows seemlessly.

Three friends, Susanne, Dale and Evie take a summer break at a villa in Tuscany. The villa belongs to Susanne's neighbour Veronica, and Veronica's God son Harry, is currently vacationing there.

Susanne is separated from her husband and has a 9 year-old son who is spending a few days with his dad Colin. Dale is a teacher at a school in London and Evie, who just lost her mother, is having difficulty in coming to terms with it. The holiday seems a perfect break they all need.

All goes well and the ladies have settled in and made friends with Harry. While Susanne finds herself drawn to Harry, who is almost 17 years younger to her, Harry spares no effort to woo Susanne. Dale is not too happy with the way things are unfolding and finds it strange that Harry chooses to spend time them when he is not disappearing to the village to spend time with his friends.
As the holidays draw to a close, there is a change in the bonhomie. Star, the girlfriend of one of Harry's friend moves into the Villa after she breaks up with her boyfriend. The bond between Harry and Star seems to be more than mere friends.

Something somewhere feels very wrong and its a close call for one of them.
The twists are good and the story is told from each of the 4 main character POV. Found the writing to be very crisp.

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the Arc
Wishing the author Beverly Harvey, the very best for her debut book.

This book really surprised me, I couldn't put it down! It was a fast paced drama that I found both predictable and unpredictable at the same time. I read this book in one sitting, it held my attention the entire time.

I definitely recommend it.

Awww a month long stay in a gorgeous villa in Tuscany with BFFs is going to be an awesome get-away for Susanne.
Susanne, a school teacher and missing her teenage son who is vacationing during the summer with her ex-husband decides that she and her two best friends need a change and a vacation is Italy would be perfect get-away!
They cannot believe their eyes at their luck in getting such a luxurious Italian Villa!

In addition to the three friends, Harry, Susanne’s neighbor’s young godson/nephew/second cousin once removed is also staying in the villa.
Hmm soon romance is in the air even though he is much younger than Susanne or any of the BFFs.
Dale is fearful that the romance is a con.
As the cover states ~ "Your holiday romance...is handsome...is charming... He’s the perfect Liar"
Therefore, we are all waiting for the truth. Have to admit I liked the twist. I do have a low tolerance for nasty language but yes it fits the character!

My first Beverley Harvey and I look forward to her next novel..

I loved this book! It’s the perfect page turner with plenty of twists and turns that keep me wondering who the “liar” was going to be.
The plot and characters all drew me in quickly and the ending was fantastic.
I’d strongly recommend this one.

Three women embark on a carefree holiday to Italy staying in a friends luxurious villa. They meet their friends godson Harry who was staying at the villa until his new job started. The holiday started with a bang and everyone was enjoying themselves. But some things were not adding up. Harry starts flirting with Susanne and they start a relationship. Dale felt there was something off about Harry and questioned Susanne about their relationship. Why was Harry so evasive when asked about his family? Where does Harry go during the day by himself? Why doesn't he bring his friends to the villa? There are many twists and turns in this book that I thoroughly enjoyed and didn't see coming. I cannot say enough about how much I LOVED the ending! I cannot wait to read more from this author.

I really enjoyed this book.
Three female friends decide to spend the summer in Tuscany.
Susanne is trying to escape being lonely at home whilst her son spends the summer with her ex husband and his girlfriend.
Dale is a long time friend of Susanne and a school teacher so looks forward to a summer away with her best friend and no children.
Evie is grieving as her Mother has passed away and is talked into a break by Susanne.
The catch is that staying with them in the luxurious villa is Harry, Susanne’s neighbours Godson.
He’s handsome, twenty something and has his sights set on Susanne

Set in Italy this book filled the void of missing a holiday abroad in a COVID lockdown. I could feel the sun and smell the Prosciutto. This is the first book I’ve read by Beverley Harvey and I will be looking out for others. Her style of telling the story from each characters perspective is perfect for this type of psychological thriller and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more of her novels.

This was a good read , Susanne , Evie and Dale are over the moon to be offered Susanne's neighbours villa in Tuscany th only cloud the fact that her godson is in residence for the summer . On arrival at the fantastic villa they are pretty impressed to find Harry is quite charming and handsome . He soon sets his sights on Susanne and they start a secret ( at first ) affair . Her best friend Dale does not trust him with of course good reason , as he tries to turn Susanne against her friends and the arrival of a strange young girl Star who obvioulsly has a connection with Harry the twists come thick and fast . Very enjoyable

The Perfect Liar by Beverley Harvey is a most impressive debut, and this exciting new author certainly promises to be one to watch. This one ticked all of the boxes for me and, most telling of all, I did not want to put it down.

Three women set off for a holiday in Tuscany, each hoping to leave her troubles behind in the UK. The women will be staying at a privately owned villa, thanks to the generosity of a neighbour, but with one caveat; they will be joined by the owner's godson, Harry, who is staying at the villa in an effort to improve his Italian. But after taking an initial liking to the young man, tensions begin to build as one woman will take Harry into her bed, while her friends begin to feel uneasy about Harry's true agenda.

This was a captivating read, and I was easily seduced by the Tuscan setting that plays such a prominant role in the atmospheric intrigue. Highly recommended.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC.

Although I figured out the plot of the story early on, the end of the book surprised me. The book was a good, quick read, but it took me awhile to really get in to the story.

I was excited to read this. And although I really enjoyed it, it wasn’t really all that thrilling or surprising. I figured out what was happening pretty early on but the end I didn’t see coming. So bravo on that! It’s mostly a story about relationships, I think. Between family and friends and the struggles we go all go thru. I did like that part of it. Good read! Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

A perfect holiday and the perfect romance. Harry seems to have it all he’s kind charming adventurous but it’s all a front but for what? When you meet someone who’s too good to be true perhaps you should worry.

An exciting plot, holiday romance and deceit. All the things I was looking forward to in this book. So I’m left pretty disappointed with what I actually got!

Firstly too much of the plot is given away in the synopsis, we don’t get the chance to fall in love with Harry because we already know he’s a liar. Give me some hints, let the reader fall in love with him, let me be charmed and then yank the dream man away! The way it’s currently written didn’t do it for me. I was waiting for the big event to happen and when it did I barely registered it..

Does it work? No it bloody doesn’t. The plot is all over the place, the characters are inconsistent and irritating.

Was I entertained? Errr slightly but can I recommend this? NO.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a book I’ve rated so badly but i couldn’t excuse this book! 1/5
I’m sorry Beverly and Bookouture - thanks for letting me read.

Blood stopped in my fingers while holding my Kindle. It's that much brilliant.
I was gripped as soon as I came midway through the first chapter. I can't believe that it's a debut. Beverly just blow my mind with this brilliant story.
Susanne and her two best friends. Meeting handsome fellow holidaymaker Harry, and the passionate fling they embark on, is just the icing on the cake.
But Harry is not who he says he is.He has a plan, and Susanne is at the heart of it. Win her over, turn her against her friends, make her see he’s the only one who can make her happy. Then she will become his ticket to the luxurious life he craves.
One of them is a liar. I thought I knew the story very well. I knew what was going to happen next but I proved wrong by the author. It's a good debut.
It's characters are deeply satisfying with a crispy narration that you won't find in any other book.
I'm going to promote it more upon its release. I'll definitely share it with my Friends, Family and followers, Bloggers and Authors. Everyone will be going to love this.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy of this brilliant psychological thriller.
