I am always up for a book by this author as I've read several others by her including some on this series. This is the fourth in the series. Though part of a series this may be read as a standalone
The perfect book to read as summer has just slipped away. All the feels in this charming romance.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

This is the fourth book of the series and knowing me you think I will tell you now it my first and I still have to read the 3 others. Well, no, ot this time. I can say I did it like you normally should and read them in the right order. :)

I have to say it has been a while since I read them and although I don't remember every little detail anymore, I still recall the overall story.

Often people only recollect the very good or the very bad things/books, the average ones easily forgotten about. I can honestly say these books are to be found on the 'very good romance books' shelf in my mind.

When loved ones are worried about you, they want to help you find happiness and love. Sometimes though you just want to have control over your own life/future and their concern feels more like meddling to you. Maybe there is a reason you want to keep that wall around your heart, a reason you don't want to share, because you are ashamed and it still hurts after all this time.

They often say you don't have to look for love, because love will find you and if often shows its face when you least expect it. The only thing you have to do is let it in...

A sweet story about finding the one. 4 stars

Thank you

Alys Murray is one of my favorite authors, and I love her Full Bloom Farm series! I've been reading this series since the beginning, and I love getting to return to this beautiful setting. Murray does a great job of making each sister's love story unique and compelling. It was heart-warming and funny and everything you want in a sweet romance read.

Home at Summer’s End by Alys Murray is the fourth book in the contemporary romance Full Bloom Farm series. This is the first one I read and had not problem reading it as a standalone. Rose Anderson is the oldest of three sisters. She is the only one still single and she is fine with that, unfortunately, her family and friends don't believe her and are constantly trying to find the perfect man for her. Hillsboro is going to be the location of a movie filming starring Cole McKittrick, who just went through a bad break. Rose is set up with him by her BFF and they do not hit it off at all. As they talk, they decide they can help each other out with a fake relationship. She can help make his ex jealous, and he can help get her family off her back. Of course the more time Rose and Cole spend together the less the relationship feels fake.

Fake relationships is one of my favourite tropes and of course, I know it will all work out, but it is fun seeing how they get there. I like the relationship between Rose and Cole right away. They have chemistry, even though they are trying to fight it. Some of the situations they get into are humorous, and I love to laugh at them. As they get to know each other, they share confidences and begin to understand one another. Of course the ex shows up, but Cole no longer wants to reconcile. I found the setting of Hillsboro wonderful with lots of quirky, caring characters. There was humour, some serious issues and secrets, as well as a lot of caring between family members and friends. A fun and flirty romance that I really enjoyed. I will now be going back and reading or listening to the first three books in this series.

Home at Summer’s End by Alys Murray is the fourth book in the contemporary romance Full Bloom Farm series. The common thread of this series is the setting of the Full Bloom Farm with each book changing main characters. With each book changing characters they can each be read as a standalone if choosing to do so with a full romance story in each.

The first two books of this series focused on two of the three Anderson sisters who grew up on Full Bloom Farm and now the fourth book gives us the story of Rose Anderson. Rose is single and enjoys being single to the dismay of her family and friends. No one around her can believe that Rose is perfectly happy without a man with all of the happy couples surrounding her.

When Rose hears that her small town of Hillsboro is going to be the set for an upcoming Hollywood movie she gets an idea. Cole McKittrick who is there to film just went through a bad break up so Rose comes up with the idea of the pair fake dating to appease her family and to make his ex see what she is missing. Of course the more time Rose and Cole spend together the less the relationship feels fake.

Home at Summer’s End was another great addition to the Full Bloom Farm series which I have followed from the beginning. Each book featured a different romance trope with this one being fake dating which I absolutely love. Rose and Cole were a great couple to get to know and it felt like returning home to me reading another book in this setting which I have enjoyed all throughout the series. After finishing this one I will definitely read more from Alys Murray in the future.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

This is the fourth book in the Full Blooms Farm series.
This latest instalment focuses on Rose Anderson. She is a truly lovely, sweet woman who is a true romantic at heart, and finally this book has her finding her own happily ever after.
The characters are so wonderful and relatable, and the story flows so perfectly from beginning to end.
A thoroughly enjoyable, heart warming read. I can't wait for future books by this author.

This is the fourth book in the Full Blooms Farm series and sweet, simple, romantic at heart Rose Anderson finally finds a leading man of her own romance story, leading to her own version of a fairy tale, romance movie kind of happy ending! 💕💞

I have not read the first and second books in the series, but I can safely say that even if I had, this one would still be my favourite!

My thanks to NetGalley, the publisher Bookouture and the author Alys Murray for the e-Arc of the book. This book was published on 15th October 2020.

A beautiful story of love and romance. Movie star Cole, who thinks he's in love with someone else, learns what it really means to love someone, especially himself. I really liked the depth of his character. A perfect theme of trying to be someone society thinks you should be. And Rose, dealing with her own issues and dealing with well-meaning but irritating family members who think they know what it takes for her to be happy. A lot of real life to this book, as they both battle things outside of their control, as well as things within their control. Miscommunications and assumptions, to name a few. Great descriptive writing and a small town that seemed like its own character. A great read.

A romantic at heart, Rose is fed up of being nagged by her friends and family about her singleness. Film star Cole is trying to win back his ex while also researching his next role. Set up on a blind date, together they agree to pretend to continue dating but can they keep their agreement professional?
Home at Summer's End is the fourth book in Alys Murray's series but can be read as a standalone story (I have previously reviewed book 2: Sweet Pea Summer).
The style of writing is easy to read and the plot is delivered in chapters from the perspectives of Rose and Cole each in turn. I enjoyed the self reflective, even wry, consideration of romance novels and the tropes used. This includes the fake relationship which this book uses!
I also really liked the part where Cole says he is annoyed by the miscommunication of feelings in romances. I feel exactly the same when I read them! Yet already by this stage, Rose and Cole are battling with their attraction to each other yet setting up their fake relationship pact.
The lead characters are equally likeable and obviously meant to be together, they just need to realise it themselves. The plot develops gently over the course of the book, in the same way that physical attraction leads to love.
Overall, Home At Summer's End is a warm and enjoyable romance. The title makes me think of a beach read but it would be equally good curled up under a blanket in autumn and winter too.

It is impossible not to fall in love with Alys Murray’s charming, emotional and engrossing small town romances and she is on superb form with her latest novel, Home at Summer’s End.

Rose Anderson is sick of being a nice girl. She is sick of all the pitying looks from relatives questioning her single status and wondering just what is wrong with her for her to still be on the shelf without even the hint of an engagement ring coming her way. Rose has had it with smiling politely and being the subject of gossip. She doesn’t want or need a man. With her thriving flower-arranging business, Rose has got enough to keep her occupied and her reluctance to put her heart on the line again has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that scars from her past relationships refuse to heal. Rose is not in the market for a relationship, but maybe if she can convince her family and friends that she is dating, they might just leave her alone and stop interfering in her life. But when you know everybody in town, finding someone who can play-act at being your boyfriend can be quite challenging – until Cole McKittrick comes to town and Rose gets an idea!

Cole has got enough on his mind without Rose’s hare-brained scheme to convince the entire town that they are lovers. Having quit his high-powered job to chase a dream, Cole is constantly wondering whether he’s done the right thing or whether he’s just fooled himself into thinking that his heart knew better than his head. The last thing he needs is to have Rose pestering him, but even though he tells her to go away, she simply will not give up. However, when she makes him an offer she cannot refuse, Cole finds himself with no other option but to say yes…

Cole and Rose might fight like cat and dog behind closed doors, but their fake relationship has the whole town fooled. However, when play-acting gives way to something far deeper which neither one of them was expecting, Cole and Rose quickly realise that there is nothing fake about their feelings for one another. Yet, Cole’s secret threatens to come between him and the best thing that has happened to him in ages, but will Rose show him the door? Or will she open her heart to the man who has come to mean everything to her?

With so much upheaval and worry going on around us, what a pleasure it is to escape into one of Alys Murray’s irresistible romances. Full of joy, laughter, pathos and heart, Home at Summer’s End’s is a witty, hopeful and joyous tale I read with a great big smile on face. From the delicious banter between Cole and Rose to the enthralling emotional drama and poignant romance, Home at Summer’s End is a wonderful read about falling in love, second chances and finding a place to belong that readers will struggle to put down.

Alys Murray will bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart with her latest first class romance, Home at Summer’s End.

I really enjoyed this book not read any of the series before but you can read this book on its own.

It is about Rose who has never really had any relationship with anyone. She decides after her friend Annie and her sisters going on about her having one that she will get her friend Annie to set her up on a date. It is arranged and she meets Cole who is an actor who is filiming in the town. Cole wants to get back with his ex girlfriend so between Rose and Cole they decide to have a fake relationship.

It was an really nice book and would recommend reading it.

Rose is the eldest of the Anderson sisters plus one: with Annie, May and Harper: and the sisters have decided that now is the time for Rose to find her ‘happy ending”. She’s the calm and sorted one: working in a small floral shop in the tiny Hillsboro community, crafting perfumes for friends, and keeping her own council. But Annie, in her often-misguided determination to match everyone she knows, has set her sights on Rose, and the movie that is coming to film in town offers her the perfect option.

Cole was a star in a long-running television show but wanted to ‘change’ the trajectory of his career. Now he’s starring in a Rom Com film, and they happen to be filming in Hillsboro. Add to that, Cole and Annie have developed a friendship, and with his own romantic life in tatters, he’s determined to woo his ex back, and Annie is determined to find Rose a ‘man’. Despite both being determined to find their own path, the first ‘date’ with Cole and Rose leads to a ‘relationship of convenience’ - or is it?

These two are so well suited, once they open up and deal with their issues: Roses’s of trust and relying on her own judgment after being catfished years ago. Cole is determined that his ex is ‘for him’, but he’s never seen (or experienced) the sort of feelings he has for Rose. Back and forth, with plenty of miscommunication and a surprising lack of meddling from Annie and Harper as they near the event that is May’s engagement party and Rose’s perceived NEED for a date, the story is full of family, heart and plenty of caged feelings from two people who are too afraid to take a chance, until they aren’t.

I received an eAr copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Ever since I read The Magnolia Sisters I’ve been hooked on every one of Alys Murray’s stories about Hillsboro and the Anderson family – Rose, Harper and May and their best friend Annie who has moved to the town from LA. Home at Summer’s Cove features sister Rose. Rose is the romantic of the group. She runs the flower shop in the town. Despite her protests - as the story begins over dinner on her birthday evening with the other three - finding love is what she longs for. Sadly she has never found it, so she escapes into the world of romantic fiction.
A movie is about to be made in Hillsboro and Annie runs into Cole McKitterick the lead actor in the local library selecting romance novels. He’s having trouble with his female lead. There’s a lack of chemistry and he’s decided reading romantic fiction might help. Annie seizes on the opportunity to set Cole and Rose up. As an avid fan of romance novels, she will be able to help him get into the right mood with his leading lady and in return he will provide her with an escort to her sister May party and stop everyone playing matchmaker for the time being. Rose has no intention of falling in love with someone who is so far out of reach; someone who still hopes to reignite his broken relationship with actress Vivienne Matilde. But of course things don’t always go the way they are supposed to do they?
Another lovely uplifting read…can’t wait to see what’s next from Alys.

This series just got better with the fake it romance between movie/television star Cole McKittrick and the last of the unattached Anderson clan, Rose. Rose is supposedly the sweet one in the family, the oldest sibling who usually took care of her sisters. However, now they and their best friend (and matchmaker), Annie, have all found their true loves, they seem determined to make Rose’s life a misery by forever showing how much in love they are with their partners and trying to find Rose an equally romantic match. She’s had enough and agrees to go on a blind date arranged by Annie . . . . never expecting it to be with such a well known actor. They each have their very different reasons for suggesting a fake relationship would help them but when they touch the chemistry sizzles . . . . What will happen when the filming is over and its time for Cole to leave town?

What a great addition to this series this proved to be. The characters are well developed, the plot has plenty of quirks and the romance beautifully and hilariously portrayed. It is a lovely story to escape into and one I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading!

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for my copy of this book which I have voluntarily read and honestly reviewed.

Fake relationships don't ever really stay fake, do they? Rose wants to get her family off her back about finding love. Cole wants to win back his ex-girlfriend while learning how to find chemistry with his newest co-star. They had rules. They had boundaries. They weren't supposed to develop feelings. This book was more than a fake romance turned real. It was about self-discovery, and self-confidence, opening eyes to certain realities, and getting others to see the protagonists as themselves and loving them for who they are. It was about discovering self-worth and opening hearts to possibilities. This book was a great way to spend the weekend relaxing.
