Could not put this book down. Loved the story about opening your heart and finding true love when you least expect it. A wonderful read

The fourth in a series and although each book's love story is self contained, I really recommend starting at book one as the stories build upon each other as the characters show up in each book.

This book focused on Rose Anderson, one of the sisters from this family in Northern California that owns and operates a flower farm. Rose owns a floral shop, but her true passion lies in making fragrance and it is where she would much rather spend her time. Cole McKittrick is in this small town to film a romantic comedy and heal from a broken heart. He wants to keep his movie career moving forward but needs help becoming a leading man and maybe Rose (who reads a lot of romance) could be just the trick. But of course they must avoid falling in love . . .

If you are a romance reader then this book is SO up your alley. All the romance book references just made my day and I love reading a book through the lens of another romance reader - was so great! Their story although was so predictable, was still so great to read.

If you have read the other books, you will enjoy how this one completes the quartet.

Why is it that you have to have a man to be complete? What if a woman chooses not to ever marry? Why does everyone assume she is a lesbian? People should not put people into a box!
Rose is happy not in a relationship. She is truly waiting for her true love like the love her parents. Why does her sisters and friend continuously want to set her up on dates?

Cole is a sitcom star who just left not only a highly rated series for a movie role, but was dumped by a another actress. He is wondering what he did wrong because he was extremely affectionate but that’s not what she wanted. So, what do women want? He is in a small town for his new role where it’s to be filmed and a friend is going to set him up with someone who knows romance because she reads nothing but romance books!

Cole & Rose decide to fake a romance in order for him to make his ex jealous and her to get everyone from setting her up! Watch out for the fireworks because someone has secrets and another has desires!

I thought the author kept the book flowing to a point, but at times it felt as though it needed more insight for the characters because I lost the intrigue of the secret. It was not as exciting as it could have been it felt a let down. The book was too predictable, I think there could have been more drama between the ladies.

I have been eagerly awaiting this book as it concludes the Magnolia Sisters series. Each of which has been a glorious love story.
This visit saw the focus falling on Rose, the eldest of 3 sisters and, from previous books in the series, the most resistant to matchmaking.
Rose is a pure romantic and, because of a dreadful past experience, she is determined to find love naturally and not be forced into any arrangement from a well-meaning friend or family member.
Of course, she should have known that involving Annie was a mistake! Rose believed that she could spend time with Cole and convince the town and her family that she was dating whilst protecting her heart.
Cole is wonderfully written as the movie hero with a heart of gold. He has his own reasons for entering into the arrangement with Rose but, like Rose, he underestimates the power of attraction.
I really loved this gorgeous courtship and the final result will satisfy even the hardest of hearts.
This entire series has been wonderful and refreshingly romantic. I’m excited to read Alys Murray’s next book which sounds gorgeous!

A very sweet read where Alys Murray's style of writing brought romance back to the pages. Two unlikeliest people were brought together. One date and a fake relationship to put off people slowly brought Rose and Cole together.

Some parts meandered but most of it brought out the happiness of emerging love. Overall, a sweet read

A lighthearted easy read. I liked Rose and Cole’s story, and enjoyed reading it. I did not read the earlier books and did not feel like I needed to for this story. I never fully connected with the characters but not enough to stop reading. I plan to go back and read the others in this series.

Flower-shop-girl meets Hollywood Star.

Home at Summer's End is a story of loving people for what they really are, despite all misleading appearances.

Rose Anderson owned a flower shop in a small town selling the flowers produced on her family's farm.

She loved the peaceful and quiet town and was content with her life choices. She wished her family and friends would understand that, instead of keeping matchmaking and worrying about her absent love life.

Their intentions were good, but they were quite over the top.

Rose's friend Annie, a social media mogul, went as far as to set Rose up on a date with Cole McKittrick, a beautiful Hollywood star in town to film a movie.

Rose and Cole had nothing in common. He was a celebrity trying to recover from a public breakup, and Rose wanted nothing to do with the spotlight.

Thrown together, Rose and Cole agreed on a fake relationship to end her family meddling. Rose, in return, would help Cole developing his romantic role in the movie and making his ex jealous.

The story is very romantic. Two people with preconceived ideas about each other slowly getting close and seeing beyond mere appearances.

I like that together they found balance and figured out what is really important in life.

I'm a sucker for fake relationships, and Home at Summer's End is a sweet and romantic read.

I am really struggling to find the words for this story. I honestly don't want to do any injustice to the author, but something was not quite right and it is hard to pin point what exactly and I am also confused because it had some great parts. So I am literally all over the place how to write this one. :)

To follow the story of Rose and Cole was at times so sweet, so lovely but then again it felt as a nuisance. I couldn't see that chemistry as a whole and they were getting on my nerves so, so much. I felt like their characters weren't developed enough, and that as soon as we see the glimpse of explanation how they are acting the way they did the story switches to something else and I feel lost, like something is definitively missing and is left unspoken, unwritten.

On the other hand there were some warm, lovely, genuinely cuddly scenes and I felt such a connection to the story.

While writing this review I figured I didn't like all the other characters, they didn't seem genuine to me, they felt overbearing even though the message was that they are all looking out to each other. And I think that meddling of almost ALL characters is so , so over-dated and in this age and time it certainly sounds funny.

But again the author has a very nice writing style, you can follow the story easily and she has a great way of beginning and ending the chapter leaving you with the need to read the next chapter quickly.

And then on the half of the chapter you feel overwhelmed and the whole story and all the characters are just bugging you and you don't feel happy reading a love story when you definitely should.

I know my whole review sounds confusing and maybe doesn't make any sense to some people but I swear that's how I feel about this book. :)
That's why it was difficult to write this review. Maybe this author just isn't for me? Is it possible that I have stumbled across an romance, feel-good author that I don't like? :/

Having not read the previous books in this series, I started reading Rose's story. I honestly didn't feel like I was missing anything except maybe some more family dynamic from the other stories.

Rose is guarding her heart from a past love mistake but also lives in a small town so new dating prospects are hard to come by. She is living out multiple romance book tropes when she agrees to fake date a movie star in town.

I loved the idea and the story was light hearted and sweet. It was about going true to yourself and being the person you want to be.

Definitely will go back and read the previous books and look for more stories from this author

Loved reading this book and series. If you haven't rwad this book yet I highly recommend it. She is now one of my favorite romance authors. Can't wait for the next one

Her family and friends, in fact the whole small town of Hillsboro, have other ideas. They want to see her happy and settled in a relationship. Enter Cole McKittrick. Rose’s friend, Annie, sets up a meeting between the two in one of her many matchmaking efforts. Cole and Rose strike a deal to create a “fake relationship.” She will mentor him in romance in his desire to win back his ex-girlfriend and he will provide cover to get the pressure off Rose to date. What could possibly go wrong?

This was an enjoyable, fast, feel-good read. I found the characters of Rose and Cole credible and likeable. The tangential characters lacked any real depth (see comment below), but I didn’t feel it detracted from the storyline.

This is the fourth installment in the Full Bloom Farm Series (preceded by The Magnolia Sisters, Sweet Pea Summer and The Perfect Hideaway). I think it works as a stand-alone novel if you aren’t familiar with the series, but having read The Perfect Hideaway, I suspect there are nuances that are missed from not being familiar with the other three.

This was a nice sweet romance. It was a bit predictable and maybe just a bit too long. If you’re looking for a light hearted story, something to escape into, check this book out. I did enjoy the story

Albeit a little predictable, I still enjoyed this sweet and fun read! I am a small town girl and always appreciate a good story set in on.

I absolutely love this series by Alys Murray! I stumbled upon the first book, and finished it right away. I grabbed the other books in this series, and loved them too. I was so excited to read Home at Summer's End! It didn't disappoint, I loved it as well! I highly recommend this book and the series for anyone needing an escape to a small town!

Loved reading this series. Can’t wait for your next one Alys.
