Taylor is the last single woman of the 3 Sunshine sisters, who own a wedding business in Cape May, NJ. She never intended to be part of the business permanently, and is planning a trip to Paris at the end of this summer to pursue her career in art.
Pierce is a wedding photographer whose main business comes from Sunshine Bridal. He is yearning to reach out beyond weddings, engagements and baby photography sessions, but so far, hasn't been able to seal the deal. He's made a pact with himself that at the end of this summer he will start his new career.
Taylor and Pierce have been friends since they were young, but only platonic. They did try to make out once, but it was underwhelming enough that they never tried again...until one night, exhausted after a long wedding and winding down with tequila, they woke up in each others' arms. The sex was amazing (it is described in great detail in this book - hot but definitely for adults), so they decide to start a friends-with-benefits secret arrangement until the end of the summer.
Does Taylor go to Paris to fulfill her dreams? Does Pierce find success in other types of photography? I don't do spoilers, so please do yourself a favor and read this book!!
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.
5 Star Review Forever In Cape May (The Sunshine Sisters #3) by Jennifer Probst
The third book in The Sunshine Sisters series from Jennifer Probst and what a great addition Forever In Cape May is. I have loved all the books in this series but this one is my favourite. Taylor Sunshine and Pierce Powers have been best friends for years, even though they have experimented with a kiss or two, both have agreed it can never be anything else.
Taylor never planned on working at Sunshine Bridal, her family’s wedding business and planning to travel and see the world, while Pierce has no plans to travel, content to stay in Cape May.
After one drink too many, Taylor and Pierce share a night of passion. Both know it can go nowhere as Taylor is leaving to pursue her art in Paris, while Pierce has his own photography business in Cape May. After deciding that a friends with benefits relationship is in order, neither have any idea that their lives and relationship have changed forever. I was frustrated with Taylor and Pierce at times, the lack of communication between them had me wanting to yell at them.
I really enjoy Ms. Probst style of writing, her characters are engaging and you quickly find yourself invested in their stories. I have loved each and every one of the Sunshine sisters. This was a fun and entertaining read with such a wonderful feeling of love and family that I was sad when the book ended.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.
The final book in this adorable series of 3 sisters. This is Taylor’s story.
After college,Taylor puts her desires to see the world on hold returning to Cape May to help with the family business of wedding planning. With three sisters Bella, Avery, and Taylor at the helm the business flourishes.
Taylor’s true love is art and traveling. Dreams come to life when a Parisian art gallery plans to exhibit Taylor’s art work.
Pierce is photographer extraordinaire and Taylor’s always supportive BFF. Pierce favors stability, settling down - Cape May, marriage and kids.
A drunken night leads to HOT hidden treasures as Taylor and Pierce look to handle this new development. Agreements are made to enjoy the now until the next change occurs. Decisions are made to set one free.
Pictures exhibit more than words can say.
Forever in Cape May is the third book in The Sunshine Sisters series and while it is the first of the series I've read, I enjoyed it without issue. It definitely did make me want to read the first two in the series.
Taylor Sunshine was never meant to work with her sisters in their wedding planning business, but when the family needed her back in Cape May, she did what she needed to and came home. With that said, she is still pursuing her dream of being an artist and she's due to head to Paris for a show in the coming months.
Pierce Powers is an amazing photographer and he's been working with the Sunshine sisters as part of their wedding business for some time. He rarely shoots other things besides weddings, but he's beginning to get burnt out and he wonders if it is time for a change.
Taylor and Pierce have been best friends since they were kids. They have always vowed to keep things platonic between them, but when things get hot and steamy one night, they can't change what has happened between them. When they decide to have a friends with benefits arrangement until Taylor leaves for Paris they figure they can do this and go back to being friends. Will that be possible or are they headed for heartbreak?
I enjoyed this story and the way that things unfolded between this duo. I always love a good friends to lovers romance and this was a good one. I enjoyed that they actually had to deal with what the fallout was going to be with respect to their friendship as their feelings began to take a turn instead of it just "happening". I recommend picking this one up.

Forever in Cape May is the third book in the Sunshine Sister series. It's about when best friends take their relationship to the next level and become lovers; what happens when two people think they know what the other wants and needs.
Taylor Sunshine is the youngest of the three sisters; she always wanted to travel, explore new countries, and become an artist. Although she didn't go far away from Cape May for college, she didn't think that she would be going back to help out her parents' bridal business either. However, when her sister's husband died in an automobile accident, she did the right thing, went back home, and helped her sisters out with the business. Now it's her time to shine to travel and see if she can make it in the art world.
Pierce Powers is Taylor's best friend and vowed to keep things platonic, so when things changed between him and Taylor, his world is thrown upside down. They have the perfect relationship, trust, loyalty, and friendship. Could it be any better?
I adore Jennifer Probst's stories; she takes her readers on a journey with every book she pens. This one is more of a contemporary romance and maybe one of my favorites. I hope we get a follow-up or a revisit to Cape May to check in on the Sunshine Bridal and the sisters.
I was waiting for this book about Taylor Sunshine and her best friend, Pierce Powers but also not wanting this series to end. Taylor thinks there's something wrong with her because she doesn't want to be married with kids and living in Cape May for the rest of her life. She's dreamed of becoming a famous artist and living in Paris and now that is going to come true. Pierce is the wedding photographer for the Sunshine Bridal. He has supported Taylor their whole lives and believes that she will be the famous artist that she wants. One night they are both drunk and break their pact of being just friends. Will they be able to go back to platonic after a few weeks of friends with benefits? Taylor is leaving at the end of the summer for Paris so this is possible, right? Pierce begins to feel the pull of being a different kind of photographer than for just weddings. Will Taylor and Pierce still be friends after their dreams begin to pull them apart? I liked this friends to lovers book and how Taylor and Pierce still support each other even after it gets hard for their friendship. I'm really going to miss Cape May and all of the sisters and their significant others. They are a really great family. Thanks Jennifer Probst for such a wonderful series!
WOW! I absolutely loved Forever in Cape May by Jennifer Probst, the third and final book in her Sunshine Sisters series! I can truly say, that Forever in Cape May is an incredible love story, that is filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions and I could not put it down. I loved every moment on every page. Jennifer Probst has once again shown that she is an amazing storyteller. Forever in Cape May was a bittersweet book for me knowing that it was the final book and it completed the Sunshine Sisters series. Each book in the series keeps getting better and better and I have loved each book, but I truly believe that Forever in Cape May is my favorite book in the series. Jennifer Probst has once again provided her readers with amazing characters. I love all the characters in Forever in Cape May, they feel like family! Who doesn't love hot sexy men, strong, passionate females, and loving families, who always support one another? I enjoyed the loving bond of the Sunshine sisters, and all their interactions, it felt like real family love and made me laugh at their teasing. Jennifer Probst delivered all that I love in a friends to lovers’ story and so much more. I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. Forever in Cape May is wonderful love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud and the bittersweet moments that cause me to sigh, say aww to myself with tears filling my eyes. Forever in Cape May is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Forever in Cape May is the story of Pierce Powers, photographer who works with Sunshine Bridal and Taylor Sunshine, co-owner of Sunshine Bridal with her sisters Avery and Bella. Taylor and Pierce have been best friends since high school and promised each other that they would never try to be more than friends. Taylor did not plan on returning to Cape May following college graduation, but everything changed when Bella’s husband, Matt was killed in a car accident. Carter put Taylor in contact with Luis, who is willing to show Taylor’s work in Paris. After a night of drinking following a bachelorette party, Taylor and Pierce’s relationship changed. As they spend more time together, they share secrets that they haven’t shared with anyone before, and realize they may have something more. Taylor believes the Pierce wants a wife and family in Cape May and makes a rash decision that jeopardizes not only their relationship, but their friendship. I love that both Pierce and Taylor were both willing to be so vulnerable and that each of them changed because of their love for one another. Then a surprise plot twist changes everything that they had built with one another. In order to get Pierce back, Taylor realizes that she has to do something big to win Pierce back and I loved her grand gesture! I love Pierce’s relationship with Carter, Gabe and especially, Zoe. I loved that Forever in Cape May is a more than just a romance, there are dilemmas that both Taylor and Pierce are facing that need to be resolved, Pierce’s decision to change the focus of photography and Taylor’s fears that Pierce will eventually resent her for giving up his dreams in Cape May. Forever in Cape May is such a beautifully written love story, that is such a fitting tribute to Taylor and Pierce. I love all the descriptions of the setting that Jennifer Probst details, it makes me want to visit. My favorite part of the book is that is concluded the series in such a beautiful way, with Avery and Carter’s stunning wedding, and a proposal for Bella and Gabe, I truly love how the story went above and beyond the happily ever after. Forever in Cape May is filled with the poignant and bittersweet moments in the story as well as the plot twists, that I have come to love and expect in Jennifer Probst's stories. I love the cast of characters in Forever in Cape May and loved catching up with Avery, Carter, Bella, Gabe and Zoe. Who doesn’t love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Forever in Cape May, who doesn’t love a beautifully written love story, that concludes an amazing series.
What a beautiful and emotional love story. It was a wonderful way to end this series. I loved all these characters and hope the author gives us a little bit more someday.
Forever in Cape May continues the author’s acknowledged love letter to Cape May in this remaining story about the Sunshine sisters, this time focusing on emerging artist Taylor... and her best friend, photographer Pierce. Taylor is a complex character, desperate to get out of Cape May to explore the world and nurture her art. Pierce is content to stay in his home town...isn’t he? They made a friends only pact in college, but lately keeping it has developed some hiccups. Readers know Jennifer Probst’s situations and witty dialogue will keep them engaged and anticipating as Taylor and Pierce begin to explore emotions they have kept hidden even from themselves. This is a wonderful read, full of Jersey shore color and significant human insight. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.
Taylor Sunshine and Pierce Powers have been best friends since being paired up for a highschool project. After a few awkward kisses when they were younger they decided platonic was the only way they could be. Fast forward several years and one drunken night, they discover their attraction goes deeper. Unfortunately, this discovery comes just before Taylor is planning to leave Cape May. Pierce and Taylor decide they can spend the summer having fun and return to platonic friends at the end of the 6 weeks. What's the worst that can happen? Their friendship has already survived so much.
I have been waiting for Pierce and Taylor's story since the first book in the series came out and it was worth the wait. I loved everything about it. Forever in Cape May is full of all the feelings, it's sweet, funny, has such good tension, and punched me in the heart a couple of times. I adore Pierce and Taylor as a couple, they're a little bit of an odd fit but so so good together. Watching them carefully navigate their feelings for each other as they changed made my heart hurt a little. Overall this is a fantastic read, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This was a good way to finish the series about the Sunshine sisters. Pierce and Taylor have been best friends for most of their lives. Taylor is finally getting her dream to pursue her art and to get out of Cape May at the end of summer. One night after drinking too much Pierce and Taylor sleep together. They enjoyed it so much and are convinced it won't change their friendship they decide to spend the rest of the summer enjoying each other. Of course they develop more intense feelings for each other and problems ensue. This story is about them figuring out what they want out of life and each other.
This got me. I ended up all mushy at the end of this and I did not want to be. However, theme of friendship and love really hit me and I ended up begrudgingly loving this.
Why begrudgingly you ask? I'll tell you why. At first, I was highly annoyed with the book. This was mostly due to Taylor, one of our main protagonists, being a character I was not buying. I could not tell if the character was supposed to be trying this hard or not. Any character that wears a shirt that says #unimpressed at one point of the book is trying too hard. She supposedly does not believe in love but the reader has no idea where this is coming from. She has two sisters who own lives prove her wrong, but for some reason she has this chip on her shoulder when it comes to this. Why? There is really no backstory to explain this and it drove me crazy.
I was well on my way to rating this low because I needed an explanation. I needed to buy what was being sold to me. While I still have this complaint, the sweetness of the actual romance, the endearingness (is that a word?) of the familiar friends-to-lovers plot line, and the well-paced ending all ended up winning me over. I ended up very much caring about this duo so... it got me. I am glad of that too because I love a good romance and this ended up being a lovely one.
I have not read the previous novels in this series so I can attest to the fact that it makes a good standalone. Also, if you are like me, this will make you want to go back and read the others. Maybe I will end up understanding Taylor a bit better.
ARC received for an honest review
You know when you pick up a JP book you are going to get a heartfelt, wonderful story that you are going to fall in love with.
But this time, I just didn't. I like the characters of Taylor and Pierce for the most part, but as a romantic couple? Nope, just didn't feel it, at all.
I think it was because there was such a fuss made at the beginning about how there was no sexual attraction between them, the deal they made etc, that when they fell into the sex-trap, to me there was just nothing really there.
And I got so frustrated and mad at Taylor at times for things, that that also took away from the heart eyes feelings I should have been having.
Things did speed up and get better in the latter half of the book, but not enough to bring my rating up - sorry Ms Probst
I really liked the story and the characters, I couldn't put it down, so I had to read it in one sitting.
Forever in Cape May is a fantastic friends to more read. This is Taylor's story. If you have been keeping up with the Sunshine Sisters then you know Taylor is a talented artist and wants more out of life in Cape May. Her heart has never really been in the bridal business even though she is amazing at it. Pierce is Taylors best friend since childhood and a talented photographer. I really love their bond and how close of a friendship they have. You feel the tension and chemistry build throughout this series and this read. They understand each other and are each others person. You feel everything Taylor and Pierce go through together the ugly and the beautiful as they both grow with their careers. I really could not get enough. I love the Sunshine Sisters so much.
Taylor and Pierce have been best friends since high school. Taylor is a wedding planner along with her sisters. But Taylor’s true passion is painting. She’s always wanted to leave Cape May and travel. When she gets an opportunity to show some of her paintings in Paris, she jumps at the chance. Now she just has the summer left at home. Pierce is a wedding photographer and is starting to feel restless. Pierce and Taylor get drunk one night and end up having sex. At first they freak out but slowly realize that it wasn’t so bad and they should have a friends with benefits relationship. Will they each lose their best friend for pleasure?
Great story with sex and friends to lovers. I did laugh a few times. Miscommunication and secrets. Be prepared for a cold shower.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for NetGalley *
Having read and enjoyed the previous books in the Sunshine series I jumped at the chance of reading Taylor's book.
It was a fun and humorous read , with heartwarming romance developing between Taylor and lifelong friend Pierce Powers. The two work together on weddings , Taylor ias a planner and pierce the photographer.
This was an enjoyable and immersive read and I finished it in one sitting. I think it will appeal to readers who like Melissa foster and Bella Andre .
This is the third book in the Sunshine sisters series and it was my least favorite. I think this is due to the fact that I did not like Taylor at all. I thought she was extremely selfish and bossy. This was hinted at in her appearances in the other two books and I was hoping that it might be different in her own book but that did not seem to be the case. I also did not feel a romantic connection between Taylor and Pierce. I bought them as friends but their transition to romantic partners fell a little flat to me. I did like the Cape May references as it is fun to read about a place you’ve visited.
A best friends to lovers story that was cute but somewhat generic to the trope so it's not memorable. And I don't know if it just me but after being told that they had no chemistry over and over again plus the failed attempts at more, it was hard to root for them.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book received from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Y’all, I cannot quit small town romances. Then you make it a beach town and I’m sold.
Welcome back to Cape May for book 3. This time, it’s Taylor and Pierce’s turn. And I loved it. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and this book this the reason why. From the moment I met these two in the first book, I was needed to know how it was going to play out. It was so obvious that Taylor and Pierce loved each other from the very beginning. Yes, by falling in love with each other, there is a chance they might lose their amazing friendship but just be glad that they did.
A few of my other favorite parts:
- The tour of Paris.
- Cameos from Avery, Carter, Bella, and Gabe
- Zoe barging into Taylor’s kitchen and catching Pierce is his birthday suit.
If you are looking for a fun small town series, this is a great one!
