I had a very hard time getting into this one, it was very slow and didn't keep my interest that it became more of a chore to read than a pleasure
I wasn't able to maintain interest through the reading of this book. Most of the stories were written well, they just didn't feel very interesting. I was not able to get into the stories and I really didn't feel like they were scary or spooky. Horror? I don't think so. The content did not live up to selling point, nor the cover.
A group of short stories that all involve some immortal or God/Goddess from Mythology. Great concept but not really my type of book. Each story was well written but, for me, not memorable. Thanks to Netgalley for this free copy in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
Anthologies usually have stories that are hit and miss for me, and this no exception. Though I would recommend this to greek mythology fans as I really enjoyed the stories here inspired by them.
As it usually is with anthologies, there will be stories that speak to you, and some that don't. The same is true for this, some of the stories were hits and some just missed
I'm not entirely sure what to say here to be honest. This book was ok but not great. Some of the stories were well done, and I really liked the concept but this book just never grabbed me. I never felt pulled in. The tone was solid and the writing is well done, and I really wanted to like this book but it just never took off for me. My favorites were the Sacrifice to the Dark Elves and Olympus Confidential but event these just left me going "ok" instead of "wow". In short, this book wasn't bad but I don't think I would recommend it.
I need more books with Greek gods. And ancient gods in general. I loved this anthology. The representation of the gods and Greek mythology itself was a bit too harmless for my taste. But I liked that each story represented the fear of a different god - it was also interesting to see each author's take on what a god could possibly fear.
All stories were so beautifully written, I don't know how to pick a favorite.
I received a free ARC by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I went into this book with great expectations, however, I was truly disappointed. With most books I cant wait to read it all, but I just couldn't get into it. I suffered through it all to give an honest feedback. I felt like I was reading a teenager's diary. Nothing really made sense. So much could have been added and even more could have been left out. Not a fan of this anthology.
It is often difficult to review collections of short stories as it is impossible to focus on all of them - especially when there are 21, and not all of them good. It is an interesting concept throughout the book, tying each story to a Greek deity in a contemporary setting,
For myself, none of the stories felt like there had been a concept or a strong sense of the plot, as though they had simply been written to be a part of the collection and with little thought to be given other than this. As a result, it took much longer to read than I would have liked and a book which I had looked forward to reading felt like a chore, with no real connection to the stories.
The rating given is based purely on the interesting idea, and not the execution though multiple writers do seem to hold promise in their styles.
I was given a copy of this book for review
The stories read very similarly to greek/roman mythology as I enjoyed it when I was a young man. Very enjoyable, especially the first one. A sad love story is the very first that you read. I felt bad for all the characters in that story.
If you enjoy mythology stories, then you will really enjoy this selection.

This was such a good read for October! The spooky anthologies had some Greek references and a variety of storyline perfect to curl up with as fall starts to hit. This is a must read for anyone that enjoys spooky.
I would like to start out by saying that I adore anthologies. This one is chock full of great short stories that are perfect for this time of year. It was a very enjoyable book and I totally recommend it for lovers of horror, paranormal, mystery, gods and goddesses and short story collections.
I would like to thank the authors, Aisling Mackay, Rewritten Realms, LLC and Netgalley for the opportunity to read a digital copy of Immortal Fears in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Thank you dear NetGalley, the authors and the publishers for the opportunity to read a digital copy of Immortal Fears.
A quite tame anthology, yet wlel-written, something like "Greek myths for kiddies" vibe. No lust or bloodlust, so common for Ancient Greece, just modest and cold creep who delicately crawls to you and you are really terrified at the last story

Such a good, creepy anthology of short stories from these collected authors. A really good read.
