This has been on my TBR for several years now, and I can’t seem to make myself finish it. I’m sorry! I’m sure someone will love it, but it just isn’t for me.

I had hoped this was going to be funny and mysterious. But i didn`t exactly see it, it wasn`t funny... it was more like boring. Daisy was...boring and somewhat whiny for my taste. I don`t know what i expected, but this was not for me.
Sadly, didn't click with this one. I wasn't able to form a rapport with Daisy at any point, and the start was slow and it just did not capture me, unfortunately
A solid read with just a little bit of romance mixed in.
Daisy is a bartender in the Keys, which I could completely relate to and was the main reason I wanted to read this story. I lived in the Keys for a couple years and love reading stories set in that area of the country. Daisy is stuck pet sitting a python, get a call that her parents are splitting up, and heads up to Georgia. Unknown to her she has a stow away with Raj. The pace is okay, it comes and goes, and while the story is there the characters are okay.
This was a cute read. The story line was unique and I liked the characters. They could have used a little more development though. I did feel like it was a bit rushed in places and overly drawn out in other spots. The romance kinda went on the back burner for a while and that was a bummer but it was still fun. Overall it was a quick and entertaining read.
Snakes and Lovers is about Daisy, who works in a bar as a 'beach bum'. When she finds out that her parents have split up, she takes the python she is pet-sitting and an unknown stowaway Raj and heads to Georgia to try to repair their relationship. Her other objective is to avoid Luke, who broke her heart in high school.
Anne Lovett is quite funny, and I laughed several times while reading this book! However, I had a hard time getting into the story and it felt a bit disconnected in places. The romance seemed a bit rushed, but I do appreciate that the story was unpredictable and unlike other women's fiction.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and Words of Passion in exchange for an honest review.
Nice story. Liked it and the premise. Funny and there a snake. Be what else could you want. Lol. Read it
Although I did enjoy the general underlying storyline throughout this book, I didn't enjoy it quite as much as I had anticipated.
The main character was likeable enough, but I didn't find that the supporting characters really added much depth to this story.
The ending of this book was also rather clean cut for me and left me a little deflated by how the story concluded.
I am sure others will enjoy this book, but unfortunately it simply wasn't for me.
Thirty-eight-year-old Daisy likes her Florida beach bum life, serving drinks at a beachside bar. After two marriage meltdowns, she's had it with responsibility and ungrateful men. But what will she do when her best friend disappears and leaves her with a small boy and a five-foot python, just when Daisy desperately needs to go home and convince her squabbling parents, the one steady thing in her life, to reunite? And what if the only one who can help her is Luke, the guy who broke her heart in high school?
When she has to travel with Luke to New Orleans to find her friend (and, perhaps, her errant father) in her old VW bus, Daisy learns some important lessons about love, forgiveness...and listening to her mother.
I was given this book to read by Netgalley, so thank you.
I am not sure what to say about this book that hasn't already been said. I loved some of the characters in it but not all. Daisys mum (Moo) I thought was quite amusing but her love interest Luke I found controlling and regimented. Given that Daisy is a self confessed hippy at heart the two just didn't gel for me at all. At times it felt as if this was Lukes story and Daisy was tagging along. With two failed marriages behind her I would have liked to of seen a little more spark from Daisy in terms of what she actually wanted rather than being a people pleaser. The story itself was formulaic as you would expect from a 'romance' novel but with little emphasis on the romance more just sex to be fair. The story lacked cohesion given the amount of people who were able to find Daisy when she wasn't in her home town. Although a reasonable read I would like to see a little more from it with a less rushed ending.
The writing was fine and the story interesting but I did not care for most of the characters. The romance, especially, lacked. I would maybe try the author again.
I received a copy of this book for an honest review. Daisy is the main character, I liked that she was seasoned with experience but was not a fan of her condescending love interest, seems like Daisy still has more to learn. There were a lot of eccentric characters, something one might associate with southern culture. My main criticism is some aspects of the story lacked cohesion but it was an entertaining read.
I really wanted to like this book more than I did. I felt like there were a lot of people running around in this book doing weird and odd things. I did like the main character since she wasn’t just another twenty-something bungling through life. Daisy had lived a lot of life already and experienced failed marriages, etc. I wasn’t as fond of the love interest though - seemed a bit controlling and condescending. The snake and Raj were an interesting element. The ending was just too clean and quick. I don’t know - I was just left feeling a bit unsatisfied when I finished. I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
This was a difficult book for me to get into. I wasn’t a fan of the main character and found her hard to relate to. The story itself was alright and the location.

This was a cute, breezy read! I found myself thinking about the fun little details about each character, and the chaotic situations that the protagonists find themselves in. I thought the book was pretty funny, but pace wise was missing something for me!
I enjoyed this book about Daisy who is living in Daytona liking being a beach bum she has been divorced twice.
Daisy ends up looking after her neighbour's snake as she has gone away for a week. Daisy is not that keen on snakes. Daisy finds out that her parents have split up so she has to go back home to try and get them back together. Daisy takes the snake with her and she has another stowaway in the bus her neighbour's son Raj.
Daisy meets up with her first love Luke and we learn how they were together and split up. It was a feel good book.
After two failed marriages, Daisy Harrison is determined to lead a dull and boring life as a beach bum in Florida working at Paradise Bar. She isn't interested in anything more complex. That is the plan, until her friend Lorelei sneakily leaves her pet python Bogart in her care as she runs off for what she said will be just a couple of days. Little does she know, this is only the beginning of a whirlwind of events that is due to come. Daisy finds out that her parents marriage of 40 years is on the rocks. It's up to her to save their marriage. Unaware that she has also managed to pick up a stowaway, who also happens to be Lorelei's son Raj, she sets out in her purple clunker of a van, snake in tow, to see her mother and convince her to come to her senses and let her husband come home where he belongs. However, it's not that simple. Suddenly her life is flipped upside down. Her mother is now a fortune teller who is desperately trying to rekindle the relationship between Daisy and her ex boyfriend Luke, her father has quit the real-estate company and took off to become an entertainer, Lorelei is MIA, her ex boyfriend now trying to track down Daisy and Raj, and her parents house is crumbling one brick at a time before her very eyes. What else could go wrong? Can Daisy keep it together long enough to get her parents back together and be able to return to her beach bum life? Or will Daisy get the ending she had always wished for?
I was given a free copy of this book by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for the opportunity to be able read and review this book. I really enjoyed the main storyline of this book, though it didn't seem to flow as much as I thought it would. I feel like Daisy and Luke's relationship was rushed, as well as the ending, and parts of it seemed to not make sense as to what they had to do with the story. It was a fast and easy read however that provided many laughs. I rate this ⭐⭐⭐💫
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this copy of the book. This is my personal opinion.
I couldn’t really connect with main character, I didn’t find her that easy to like. However, the story wasn’t bad at all.
A fun and sweet story of Daisy and a snake, a young boy, and her ex. Sounds like a great road trip. Didn't quite get the big "issue" that made him cheat on her, or why her mom was pushing them together, but otherwise found this fast paced story an easy read. Would recommend.
This was a sweet and funny read. Just a cute read.
This was a 3 stars for me.
Thank so much for this arc.
It’s about Daisy who dream to be a beach bum was left to take of her neighbour’s son and pet, a snake. At the same time, she have to rush home to mediate a fallout between her parent and at the same time, her ex boyfriend appeared in her life again. Story develop as she search for her neighbour and father.
I m not sure what to comment about this book as I read it. Too many things happened at the same time. And for someone who scare of a snake, reading this doesn’t feel all good for me. Am not really sure the reason for the author to choose to write a story with snake as a pets
