Sweet picture book that models how to talk to your baby in such situations as changing their diaper. Good book to share with your baby, as the introduction explains, that they can see themselves in it, see another baby, and have the things that happen to them, reflected in the book, including the new version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
Good book to share with your baby.
Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
Twinkle, Twinkle, Diaper You! by Ellen Mayer takes a simple caregiving experience and turns it into a bonding activity for both mom and baby. The well known song is the underlying text with some creative word changes to make it fit as a diaper changing song.
As a mom who has always sung to her kids this type of interaction is very natural for me. My youngest child is also severely speech delayed and so not only is it natural, but singing is essential to encourage language development. I noticed that his speech therapists would often include songs in their sessions, so adding this book is a natural implementation of professional advice.
This sweet book has adorable illustrations highlighting how both mom and baby are loving what could be a chore and making it so much more! Eye contact, narration of common activities, and smiles are also apparent showing true joyful connections. This book would make a great baby shower gift!

Love, love, love!
Diversity, modeling behavior, and simple everyday self-care routines make this a perfect board book to share with our little ones. I am a children's librarian and love to see books that show parents how every interaction we have with our baby is meaningful.
I especially love to see this as a non-heteronormative family doing what all families do, take care of each other.
I don't really like the cover, but the illustrations are really good and I like the note for parents, grandparents, and caregivers at the beginning. I like how Mayer changed the words to Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star and added diaper changing lyrics to it, because it is hilarious.
Twinkle, Twinkle, Diaper You! is the newest book in the Small Talk Books series. This sweet book showcases a baby that needs a diaper change. His loving mother gently picks him up and lays him on the change table all the while talking, cooing and singing her rendition of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" making the event a happy and fun one for both mother and child.
The book encourages parents to interact with their babies, face to face giving them hugs, kisses and using lots of verbal language as they go about their day. It focuses on the first stage of language development and the talented illustrator has featured sparkling stars throughout that mesmerize little babies.
The author has included a note for parents, caregivers, and families by renowned early literacy education expert, Betty Bardige, Ed.D. Love, adoration and happiness flow through this short board book and I highly recommend it.
Twinkle, Twinkle, Diaper You!

Very calming book reminding parents to interact with children as they do every day tasks like changing diapers.
"Twinkle, twinkle, diaper you" is a cute story aboutbchanging a babies diaper. It reads like a lullaby, so it will sound pleasant to a babies ears. The books also can show parents and caregivers great tips to engage the diaper changing process. It is a time that a lot of toddlers don't enjoy and it makes it hard for everyone. This story helps encourage a positive outlook.
Very brief picture book of a mommy engaging with her baby during even the most mundane task. The back cover explains the importance of this interaction to encourage parents and caregivers to follow suit. I need to get a hard copy of this so I can fully enjoy the sparkling stars experience!
